India certainly felt the heat for the first time luckily after they won a number of matches. Even against West Indies until last over he showed zero intent. Even in the IPL upto 19th over he was defending and hit only in 20th over. This bizarre policy of not hitting anything until the very last over regardless of asking rate should have been questioned. Sadly his biggest fan boy is the captain himself.

Pakistan's persistence with Hafeez and Malik. Atleast Hafeez did something useful on a flat wicket. Malik went AWOL every single time he was needed.

In South Africa's case Amla was a non-entity in they key phase of their campaign. Woke up once they got kicked out of the tournament. Although it is the same Amla we know his inability was not going to get better.

Ony team benefitted from an experienced oldie is Srilanka. Malinga did win a match for them at this age with his fitness.

Now to think about it Javed Miadndad in 1996 was not at all necessary to have him in their line up. He was too old to be part of the campaign. He had appalling strike rate. In his final ODI at Bengaluru his strike rate was like 59.

Chris Gayle is another old guy. High time he calls it quits. 72 strike rate chasing 338? Poor by his standard.
