Good to Salman bowl yesterday. Need to see more of him with better cameras but if development continues, he looks made for test cricket outside Sc with a nice high action.

I hope Pakistan really gets precious experience from this series, otherwise this series is of no significance

Niazi bowling in the power play... what kind of awful selection is this that you have a bowler who is not even a part time bowler on the regular to be bowling on the power play. Ridiculous stuff.

One pacer (Wasim Jr) in the entire playing 11. ONE. Bunch of spin allrounders selected and due to this you are resorting to use bowlers who don't even bowl in PP to bowl in PP + a very poor part timer in Niazi.

Joke of a selection.

4 wickets in a span of 9 deliveries. Massive collapse and Saad Masood saving the team in the PP and preventing a brutal assault.

Proving to be the right decision.

Loading up on spinners is fine but it wouldn't have killed the team either to have another proper pacer to control & restrict runs in the PP. Spinners were going to wreak havoc anyways after the PP.

Or at least have a pacer allrounder instead of using players like Niazi in the PP. He's bowled like 5 overs in his entire T20 career.

They should have used more spin overs in PP.

Niazi should bowl more. His bowling is not worse than Talat who poses himself as 'allrounder'.

Agreed. I don't know why Mumtaz wouldn't be the one to get the PP over. He has control as a spinner and keeps it tight. It was literally Wasim Jr. and batting allrounders (Masood/Niazi/Mubasir) used in the power play which is silly. They are lucky Saad Masood bowled as well as he did and got them important breakthroughs.

Forgot to add about Niazi in the previous post but I agree.

Niazi could be developed more as a bowler than he has been so far and it shows lack of foresight and thinking on Pakistan's part. He could be developed as a Stoninis type player but they should get him in FC, have him hone his bowling skills a bit more there and see if they can find ways to increase his pace to be more of a proper bowler.

If the pitch is even a tiny bit tricky, these guys become completely clueless. Can't even get bat on the ball let alone get any runs.

Man, this is brutal.

Because the main Pakistani team is doing poorly, Pakistani fans seek solace in other series like this and WCL where they do well for a while only to get knocked out badly in the KOs.

As usual. Batters are unable to adapt to Australian conditions. Even if you let them stay for a whole year in Australia, they won't be able to improve their batting.

Perth Scorchers defeated Pakistan Shaheens by 48 runs in the first semi-final of the Top End T20 Series

Perth Scorchers posted 155/8 and bowled out Pakistan Shaheens for 107 to seal a 48-run win in the Top End T20 semi-final. Shaheens’ spinners impressed early, but their chase faltered despite brief resistance from Nafay (26) and Wasim Jnr (25).

This marked Shaheens’ second consecutive semi-final exit, following last year’s loss to Adelaide Strikers at the DXC Arena.

After being asked to bat, Scorchers posted 155 for eight in their 20 overs. They stumbled midway through the innings, losing six wickets for 69 runs under pressure from the spin trio of Faisal Akram, Mehran Mumtaz, and Saad Masood.

Nicholas Hobson then partnered with Matthew Kelly to add 44 runs for the seventh wicket, pushing the total past 100. Hobson anchored the innings with a 43-ball 59 (7 fours, 2 sixes), while Kelly chipped in with 23 off 19 balls (1 four, 2 sixes).

Shaheens’ leg-spinner Saad Masood was the pick of the bowlers with 3 for 21, while Mehran Mumtaz and Mohammad Wasim Jnr claimed two wickets apiece. Faisal Akram took one wicket for 36 runs.

In response, Shaheens lost three early wickets for just 17 runs. Khawaja Nafay and captain Muhammad Irfan Khan steadied the innings briefly with a 38-run stand before Nafay was run out for 26 off 24 (1 four, 2 sixes). Irfan followed soon after for 17 off 15 (1 four).

The collapse continued, and Shaheens were bowled out for 107 in 17.1 overs, with Wasim Jnr (25 off 26, 3 fours, 1 six) the last man dismissed.

For Scorchers, Keaton Critchell starred with the ball, taking 3 for 13, while Bryce Jackson and Matthew Kelly picked up two wickets each.

Earlier in the tournament, Pakistan Shaheens had finished second on the points table with four wins from six matches in the 11-team competition.

As usual. Batters are unable to adapt to Australian conditions. Even if you let them stay for a whole year in Australia, they won't be able to improve their batting.

These aren't Australian conditions. If anything, it was more like pitches you see in Bangladesh, Sharjah that are slow, two paced and batters struggle to time.

Pakistan played one pacer and all spin. Their team was smart enough to get aggressively hard at the powerplay knowing it's not an easy pitch to bat on and they scored nearly 60 runs. Pakistan had nearly half when they batted along with losing heaps of wickets. These guys simply don't know how to navigate batting on tricky or tough pitches. The fact so many many batters on this team have such poor FC average, it just shows their defence in tough conditions isn't good enough.

Guys like Nafay/Yasir/Abdul all have FC average below 20 and it showed in their batting. Saad Masood has never even played an official FC game. That's why anyone clamouring for any of these guys to be on the team after a good performance or two needs to realize these guys need to be put through significant rigor at the domestic level, shore up their techniques, defence, temperament and how to bat on tricky surfaces.

Thing is Pakistan, like WI before them have abandoned tests and don't care about them.
