Timeouts are sponsored. Also, middle overs are the most boring phase of the innings in terms of viewership numbers (people tune in for the first 4 and then last 6). This is a good way to boost interest in a phase where people are likely to tune out. Also, most people take bathroom breaks / go get food during the timeout so no one would actually pay attention to the humaray heroes initiative, which just wouldn’t be right.
