What's new

Peshawar Zalmi beat Lahore Qalandars by 7 wickets to win match 7 of PSL 4

This kind of innings from Umar Amin is exactly what you want to see if you're looking for a test bat who can play pace, swing and seam. Looked very good on the front and back foot - excellent 50.

Excellent 50 for Amin. Seems to be batting on a different pitch compared to everyone else.

Hopefully Inzi thinks in those terms

LQ really need to get in Haris for next game

they wont i guess until Hafeez is there. another 2 loses he will get a game and if he doesnt perform will be back to the pavilion again... Hafeez is so cunning to save his spot for the CWC,,

Umar Amin, Haris Sohail and UAkmal 2 of these three easily can replace Hafeez and Malik for sure on anyday,,,

If Amin has a good tourney then he can bat at 3 in T20s
Fakhar, Babar, Amin and Akmal

Amin should’ve been what Babar is right now. He never had the backing and the support that other players have had

Hassan, Ibtisam and Amin were the stars of today while Rauf and Shaheen were decent with whatever little oppurtunity they had

exactly this guy was given a chance in England (on the famous spot fixing tour in 2010) when he was 20 years of age and then never got a chance at all... Instead Shafiq, Azhar ali and Shehzad were celebrated by MISBAH & Co (to note they all play the same way as MISBAH though) as the next coming of Lara, Sachin and Ponting...

In that lot only Azhar ali survived with hardwork but still he is not a player who can play better after facing 100 balls or even after scoring hundred runs...

Hopefully Inzi thinks in those terms

In this game the pace and swing has tested the technique of the batsmen on the front and back foot (including the great AB), but only Umar Amin has shone through in flying colours. From a technical perspective rate this innings very highly.

He was given 16 ODIs, 14 T20s and 4 tests and he had less than 20 avg across all.

He is still just 29 so you never know, if he plays few more knocks like that then he would prove that he really has improved.

Umar Amin always had the right ingredients, every poster with half decent knowledge on this forum has backed Umar Amin.

Except the board and pathetic selectors.

Then 99% of PP don’t have decent knowledge cause it’s only been you & I supporting him these past years :p

Amin is another one of unfulfilled talent.

South Africa rarely let a talented player go to waste by sticking with talent

I can understand why he was chosen in 2010 because we were struggling to find replacements for YK and MoYo at the time, so I wasn't against him getting a taste of test cricket - albeit far from ready.

However what transpired in the next few years was awful player management and development from Misbah & Waqar duo. While he was still very raw he was picked for the 2013 CT and then played one game in 2014 prior to be ditched for another 4 years.

Even now after his return to the national side, with a good t20 in his last game that too in NZL which helped the team to win the series was ditched again...

Technically he has always been very sound but the usual culprits chose to invest in Azhar Ali and Shafiq instead of Umar Amin and Umar Akmal.

I have been supporting for his inclusion for a long time... He should have been the opener backed.. he was given one chance to open under Dave where he did well in SA and then never returned even when they were trying out Azhar ali, asad shafiq as openers..

score of 25 at a strike rate of 71 is not "doing well"

Some of the oversees players are Sunday league players. We have people here telling us they are stars lol.

Shaheen owned him when it really mattered for us in south Africa. I want hasan to bowl like this for us not psl.

Then give him the new ball, trust him like Sammy does and watch him fly. Sarfaraz doesn't know how to use him.

Yes but the few chances he was given in national team were in patches and no one really backed him. The management back then was lighting their torches and ready to look for a reason to drop him and as mentioned above, to celebrate the likes of Shehzad and co.

Yes. Sarfraz is still using him in the Middle Overs on the basis of Hasan's success in the middle overs in CT. The only time Hasan has opened the bowling was in that horrendous 2018 5 ODI tour of NZ. After that, Sarfraz has been too scared to experiment.

Adbv lost LQ this match much earlier. If the ball is swinging then why would you not bring Rahat Ali earlier? The only foreign captain who is good is Sammy and that's because he is a specialist captain. I wonder why PZ rested Misbah, did they know LQ would be this bad??
