These boys appear far more humble then those from the 1990's era. Amir Sohail and Wasim Akram acted so rude and arrogant when I met them years back. Wasim Akram in particular had a reputation of being arrogantly and snobby. I assume the rest from that era would have been similar.

I had a good experience with wasim akram, he was humble and ready for picture and autograph. Poor experience was with Waqar younis and he was arrogant, Infact very petty as well. That day I lost all the respect for him.

Worshippers at a Hyson Green mosque were knocked for six when they received a surprise visit from Pakistan’s World Cup 2019 cricket team yesterday (Monday 3 June 2019).

Fresh from beating England by 14 runs at Trent Bridge, the Pakistan team visited the Masjid Umar mosque in Alfreton Road as Ramadan came to an end.

Nottinghamshire Police officers PC Bruce Rainford and PCSO Phillip Taylor engaged with the team and the local community during their surprise visit.

Inspector Rob Taylor said: "The feedback from our officers was that the Pakistan team’s visit surprised everyone at the mosque and it created a lot of excitement in the local community.

"The team members were there for Eid celebrations before leaving the excited crowd who were very pleased to see them."

Pakistan have now moved to Bristol for their next World Cup fixture against Sri Lanka on Friday (7 June 2019) while on Thursday (6 June 2019) Trent Bridge will be hosting the Australia versus West Indies World Cup clash.

South Africa cricketers Hashim Amla and Imran Tahir attended Eid prayers at a Southampton mosque on Tuesday ahead of their team's crucial World Cup clash against India.

The two players were warmly greeted by fellow worshippers, with selfie-seekers making a beeline to grab a photo with them.

Both players are veterans in the South Africa side, who have lost their two opening matches at the World Cup in England and Wales.

The 40-year-old Tahir, a Pakistan-born leg-spinner, is set to quit one-day-internationals after the tournament.

Top-order batsman Amla, 36, missed the team's second World Cup game against Bangladesh on Sunday after being hit on the head in the tournament opener against England.

Pakistani umpire Aleem Dar, a member of the elite panel of International Cricket Council umpires, also accompanied the South Africa players for Eid prayers.

The Islamic festival of Eid marks the end of the Muslim fasting month of Ramadan but rather than join in with the traditional feasting and celebrations, both players headed to a net session from the mosque.

South Africa are in desperate need of a victory on Wednesday after their two defeats, while Virat Kohli's highly fancied India will be keen to start their bid for a third World Cup triumph with a victory.

The tournament features 10 teams, who all play each other to determine the four semi-finalists.
