What's new

First Dangal transformation and now this. I have to appreciate his dedication. Simply the best Indian actor and it's not even close.

He played a Sikh character in Rang De Basanti as well, and he nailed Punjabi to the core which was surprising considering Shahrukh speaks much better Punjabi but not in his movies

Have there been unofficial ones?
What makes this an official remake? Have the producers paid for any copyrights?

Yes most movies pay for copyright now coz of corporate houses and cases, gone are the days of Mahesh Bhatt , still some directors take scenes from old movies.

Bang bang was official remake of Knight and day, Stepmom was made with Kajol and Kareena and girl on the train also is being remade officially..

Nice to hear that Bollywood are now paying for copyrights, shame it wasn’t happening in the when Pakistani songs were blatantly ripped off.

You guys could had put a case, still can actually Ya Ali of Mahesh bhatt was sued by the arabic singer, its raining Men used by Karan in k3g he got sued and never ever used anything copied (Incl Disco Divane )

Instead of whining you guys could had helped both the industries if someone put a case and stopped it but everyone was busy patronizing Mahesh Bhatt.

It started and stopped with Mahesh Bhatt?
I think the wider point is that not only did Bollywood steal the songs/tunes/films but most Indians are also oblivious to it.
It was a different era, I suspect the same would not happen today.

Yeah they did but Pak wasn’t special, they did it from Bengali, Tamil movies as well .

So get off your high horse, my point is if there is a copy Pak should had put a case but they didn’t , whole 2000 decade was the time bollywood was being sued , you guys were welcoming Mahesh Bhatt instead you should had just had demanded him to stop and sued him.

I’m sure Salman's movies still do it today.

I’d be surprised if Salman even knows, never mind cares, about the material that is used in “his” movies. Again I’m not sure why you’re highlighting Bhatt when the stealing was widespread and not confined to his movies.
As I said previously, it was a different era and I’m sure if it happened today lawsuits would follow.
Just don’t understand what made you go all defensive.

What's with all this sudden love for Sikh's going on in the subcontinent?
