Pakistan’s discarded cricketer Fawad Alam finds his feet in the drama industry after making his maiden appearance in PTV World’s comedy-drama ‘Ghar Damad’.

Fawad, who got chance in only three Tests for Pakistan since his debut in 2009, played a cameo role in PTV’s one of the famous serials.

The drama had Fawad as a cricketer who’s car got stuck in front of a house. A fellow actor takes the cricketer inside the house and then Fawad spends a full day with the people there.

The family members make the most of his appearance in their house and call all the relatives and neighbours to meet the left-handed batsman. Fawad featured in the whole episode of the comical serial and his acting pulled the attraction of the entire drama community.

The 33-years-old Fawad is usually overlooked by the selectors despite scoring runs heavily in domestic cricket. He has 10,000 above runs in First-class cricket at an average of 56.08.

He has also played 38 ODIs for Pakistan scoring 966 runs at an average of 40.25 including a century and six half-centuries. His blistering century knock helped Pakistan beat Sri Lanka in Asia Cup 2015.

What a loss for Pakistan cricket not to have given Fawad a chance at test level at the least, especially in this era where your batsmen most of the time cement their place after
scoring back to back quarter centuries. Sometimes I even wonder if these guys might raise their bats on reaching that landmark — and meanwhile this guy who is supposedly not ‘good enough’ piles up the runs in first class cricket, averaging an impressive 56.

I dont think him working in a drama means anything for his career as a cricketer. Better than some 10 sec commercial.

Poor guy, the best example of nepotism in Pakistan cricket. Wish he would've born in the land of five rivers.

Junaid_ahmed stop this non Punjabi ** for God sake, we have had fair share of mediocre krachi players getting more than deserving chances, Fawad was surely hard done by in Test cricket, in LOIs he had his moments but he failed to capitalize. There were many reason for him not getting selected but I don't think being non Punjabi was one of them.

Ethnically he is a Punjabi.
