Really liking the fellow , hasn’t played any FC cricket but the raw materials are there , got good pace consistently over 140k , can swing the ball and bowls a heavy bouncer which zips off the surface and is fairly accurate, he can definitely play ODI cricket for us if he plays couple of successful full seasons.

Yeah, he was pacy and looks good

No Idea why he hasn't played any domestic cricket

Just goes to show that talent is there, but lack of identifying and then developing it is the biggest problem

Too much egoism in Pak cricket

Seems to be the top viewed Pak player currently on cricinfo , seems like people taking keen interest in him. It was a good sight when his bowls consistently got big on Rizwan last night.

Talent in Pak is definitely not dried up specially the pace bowling talent , but sadly they just never develops after the initial burst in to the scene and infact most of these bowlers get regress or just simply disappear after couple of years.
Where is Dilbar Hussain? He too clocked 148k and was plucked out from no where.

Why the broadcasters are unable to show ball speed for each ball delivered ?

What is the technical difficulty ?

Yes i wanted more info he defo looked in 140s but my main eyecatcher was him listing as all rounder is this true if so y was he listed to come at number 11

Fawad Ali Expresses Gratitude After Claiming First PSL Wicket

From the picturesque hills of Swat to the bright lights of the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL), Karachi Kings’ emerging pacer Fawad Ali marked a milestone moment in his cricketing journey as he claimed his maiden PSL wicket during the team’s clash against Quetta Gladiators at the Gaddafi Stadium.

The 20-year-old right-arm fast bowler, a product of the Karachi Kings Talent Hunt Program, dismissed Quetta’s Hasan Nawaz for 35 to open his account in top-flight T20 cricket. Reflecting on the moment, Fawad expressed deep gratitude and emotion.

“First of all, I thank Allah Almighty for granting me this honor and helping me get my first wicket,” said Fawad during the innings break.

Fawad’s story is one of resilience and raw potential. Originally a tape-ball cricketer in Swat, his journey took a decisive turn when the Karachi Kings organized open trials in his hometown in 2023.

“I used to play tennis-ball cricket before this,” he shared. “When the Karachi Kings held trials in our area, I topped the trials and stayed in contact with Masroor Bhai (Karachi Kings Assistant Coach). Eventually, I was called to Karachi for training by the franchise.”

Fawad was part of the squad in HBL PSL 9 as a replacement for Tim Seifert, but it was during his time at the Karachi Kings Academy—under the watchful eyes of the coaching staff—that he truly developed. His progress earned him a place in the Emerging Category for HBL PSL 10, and he has continued to grow with each passing game.

The young pacer also spoke about the influence of his childhood idol and now mentor, Karachi Kings’ bowling coach Shaun Tait. “When I started playing cricket, Shaun Tait was my ideal. Now, having him as our bowling coach is a dream come true. I’ve had the opportunity to learn so much from him.”

Quicker than Ali Raza on avg? Still we haven’t see anyone hitting 150k

There's no 150 kph bowler in Pak currently. Rauf, Nasim, Ihsanullah & Hasnain have all lost pace and no up & coming youngster is in that territory. Akif can touch about 148 kph and that makes him the fastest bowler in Pak. This is only for white ball cricket btw, the red ball goes a bit faster but because better fitness is required to sustain pace, there's no one who is going to touch even 145 kph consistently in test cricket.

Boy is within touching distance of 150kph.

How does someone who has never played any form of Hard ball cricket clock 150 kph.
Our talent spotters are rubbish aren’t they. How does such potential slip through the system but further reinforces my theory that the best young talent plays tape ball cricket in Pak rather than Hardball.

Has the notion of we have 150kph pacers playing street cricket in some remote areas being true or what?

150kph is nothing if you can’t control the ball or bowl with variations. ‘Pace is pace yaar’ culture in Pakistan has turned basic cricket common sense upside down where brute pace is supposed to compensate from bowling skills.

He is accurate and swing the ball away and has got a mean bouncer so pretty much a complete package for someone who hasnt played any domestic cricket
