[PICTURE] Is this the future of Pakistan's pace-bowling?

Only time will tell. Usually only 1-2 players make it big from one u-19 batch.

From that batch Shaheen is already with the main team. Arshad and Musa are playing regular Pak domestic as well which is positive.

Amir and Junaid once used to be the opening bowlers for their u-19 batch.
 
Future Holding-Garner-Marshall-Roberts :ma Lol idk that was the first thing I thought of.

6'3-4, 6'2, 5'10, 5'8-9. Musa is a tank. He's just short.
 
And if you thought Hasan Ali, Shadab Khan, Faheem Ashraf, and co. "selfie generation" was enough.... Introducing the new-comers to the club.

All jokes aside. Mohammad Amir being dropped from all formats opens the possibilities for one these to play for Pakistan. Naseem Shah looks like the best prospect.
 
Great to see. Our last 15 years have been mediocre. Need these boyos to step up. Musa looks a real pocket dymo like Shaqiri. Powercube.
 
Was this the pace attack of the team which was knocked out in the first round of the under 19 Asia cup ?

Yeah, official age is 15 but actual age is 17 confirmed by him. Obviously not fully grown yet. Even if he doesn't grow taller, he hasn't grown into his man body yet.

This is brilliant. Already touching 145. Pretty sure Musa can hit 150 as well
 
Some very promising fast bowlers are coming through U16 level as well. We might see them in next u19 WC.
 
Someday we’ll be playing 11 fast bowlers in our starting 11 and the selectors will realise that we don’t have any batsmen in our lineup.
 
Ain’t this the pace battery that got smashed in the u19 Asia Cup and was knocked out in stage one?

Just cuz they are tall and half good looking don’t mean they are any good. Odds are none of them are good enough and if they did play they would be dropped after a series.

Sad times for Pakistan the giant who produced ATG pacers. As it stands India has the better pace battery. Something I thought I’d never say.

Imagine the day we can say Pakistan has the better batsman to India.

He is 17. Unfortunately he has suffered a back injury and is going through rehab at the NCA for the next couple of months.
 
These youngsta beauties :amir look great hopefully they can all stay healthy and play a full season of domestic cricket in all three formats.
 
A legendary thread, can't remember the last time I was that excited about anything related to Pak cricket, oh just remember it now that it was when Haris bowled that spell in his 2nd game.
 
So far in the tournament I have been impressed by, Mohammad Musa, Mohammad Hasnain and Haris Rauf. But for me they have some ways to go and must play so Pakistan A games. Hopefully PCB plans some A tours for these youngsters.
 
There is no way that Naseem Shah is going to be faster than Hasnain. Naseem is a kid compared to Hasnain's built!

Hasnain is the fastest of em!

Arshad Iqbal probably the most complete with his seam/swing + pace.

Really sad to see Naseem Shah has missed out here. The one video we have of him has him terrorising the batsmen.

But yes, these four and Shaheen are the future. Alhamdulillah we are back to producing genuine speedsters.
 
Naseem Shah seems to be the best talent surely among all of them. A complete package.

Not sure this statement is true. I would use the example of fearsome West Indies fast bowlers of the 80's which included Holding, Roberts, Marshal and Garner. Garner was the tallest but was the slowest among them. Shortest among them was Marshall who was the fastest and most feared. Roberts was shorter than Garner and Holding but was the second fastest bowler in the foursome. If you watch Marshall you would realize the speed is in your action and not the height......

Not talking about height at all. It's just that he doesn't look that strong but skinny at THIS moment. Most speed demons have strong shoulders and a broad chest.

Naseem is young and his body is probably still developing.
 
This was the "pace quarter" which could not take Pakistan under 19 team beyond the first round in Asia under 19 cup. Lost to minnows.

He puts a lot of effort, his bowling action looks very demanding on his back and its no surprising he is out with a back injury.
 
Arshad is the least fancied and for some reason I like him the most

Hmm it seems an even split among speed demons to me.

Yes, you have the strong physique, deep chest type: Akhtar, Bond, Tait, Gabriel, Thomson etc.

But you also have the whippets: Lee, Steyn, Donald, Roberts. This lot is all very fit & athletic, but never became big or bulky, just streamlined speed.

The Whippets types you mentioned weren't skinny when they debuted. But yea still too early too say anything about Shah. He will get stronger with time. But if he will be a 150 kph + bowler? Let's see.
 
This reminds me of a time when Australia suddenly unearthed 4 super quicks at the same time in 2012/2013:

M Starc
J Hazlewood
P Cummins
J Pattinson

Now Pak could be playing all 4 of their special prospects in 2020/2021 as well!

It doesn't happen often that one u-19 batch has this many talented pace bowlers. Aus were lucky and now Pak as well.

How is he getting so much swing? Where were this tournament played?

Looks really really good prospect because of that swing and bounce he gets with that pace. One for future surely

Now that Pakistan cricket has unearthed pace quartet to rival WI of 80's, it looks like golden age of Pakistan is here. It will be very hard to face these bowlers.

Could be or could be not. Only time will tell. But yea these are some interesting prospects for sure.

Also we will not get anywhere in modern day cricket without good batsmen. Need a few more of them.
 
If we are to win in Australia and South Africa we need tall fast bowlers who hit the deck hard hence why I'm more excited by Iqbal and Hasnain than Musa as we already have a lot of shortish skiddy seamers in domestic cricket.
