I am sure he is an excellent bowler but my powers of reasoning refuse to accept that he is 33.

Pakistan domestic cricket is beyond me when 'youngsta beauties' like Altaf are running through line-ups (and more importantly, taking place of younger players)

That guy is not 34!

If he's 34 then I'm like 5!

This dude is definitely in his 40s.

he is 34* in his 2nd innings.... first one he got out on 20...

does RRCA stand for Rawalpindi Retiree Cricket Association?

Such a sorry state of affairs. What should we expect next??Najam Sethi smashing sixes:afridi and taking 20 wickets in a match.:trump

He does look old but is it even possible for someone about 40 to bowl for that long? Pretty sure they'd collapse because 40 is like old and retirement time

The guy started career about 17 years back and had been a regular wicket taker in domestics. He is among those unfortunate players during that cursed period, Fahad Masood another one comes to mind. Rauf did get some chance at 38 (sorry 32, like Altaf is 33 now). There was another guy, I don't know where he is now - Zahid Saeed, toured BD for some team (or might have played in clubs, can't recall). Kaman Hussain like Yasir Arafat did play 1/2 matches, but he was from different group.

And, I guess I can name at least 3 batsmen who should have played for PAK - one is Adnan Raja and forget the names of other 2; regular scorer of domestics, one of them was opener.

Misbah would be itching to give him PSL contract.

I would be 34 in less than a decade , God willing. If thats how you look at 34 then my aging process really has to speed up.

33? surely not. No offence but he looks no younger than 43

Can't judge a person's face only by a picture. Some people just don't age well and too much exposure to sun can be bad for skin. Especially in places like Pakistan where people never even heard about sun creams.

He is 40 at the very least.

At least 40. Wouldn't be surprised if closer to 45.

In Pakistan cricket terms, he's just about ripe for national selection.

How much money do domestic teams make from winning trophys etc?

Why waste a spot on a 45 year old cha cha? Need youngsters in.

I am 28 and he doesn't look much older than me. Those who think that he's in his 40s, remember, he doesn't maintain his skin like you guys do. and chronic stress can make you look like that. No body believes that I'm 28 just by looking at me.

Everyone just talking about the age, whatever his age is, he should be congratulated for this record.

Agreed. It's embarrassing to see people after people just commenting about what his "actual" age should be. The guy is not throwing a tantrum to be selected for the national team so let him have his little success without being all too hard on the poor guy.

I am nearly 28 and this chap looks 20 years older then me. I never maintain my skin; I only shower daily. I had a lot of stress too. May be it's genes or lying.

The guy is a honest trier - never got the chance even much for PAK A team, but kept playing till this age which should be appreciated.

Regarding age cheating, he is not the only one - in fact there is hardly anyone in South Asia without 1/2 years in certificate, particularly players; but this guy might have over done a bit even PAK standard, though in current PAK team there are few who can match him in this regard. This doesn't get exposed for batsmen or spinners, BUT PAK fast bowlers and WK Captain is exhibiting what happens if you are born at 3 to 7 years of age.

The only way to solve this is Imran's scouting mantra - his bowlers used to debut in teen and retired in early 30s. For someone like Aquib debuted at 16, and retired at 29 ...........

He may have done well, but this is why I don't much sympathize with fellas like him - how many deserving cricketer's spot did he block coming up through the age group system?

zahid saeed guy has impressive ststs, adnan raza has played very lees amount matches with reasonable stats...zahid saeed has been handeled like sadaf hussain by the stats it looks.

Don't think I've seen a more talented bowler...

Congratulations to him!! Not necessary for everyone to keep on commenting on his age and looks and figure. Like one poster said he isn't pushing for a call-up or anything. Credit where it's due and he broke a record...

Have nothing against him but it's a failure of the system that terrible pitches like this are the norm where a medium pacer of this calibre can pick up a ton of wickets. And the batting is just...

Now that is a fair point. I just watched the video posted and he truly does look ordinary and the batsmen have the worst technique ever.

Yasir Hameed was the second wicket in that video. He hasn't changed at all over the past 10 years...

if this guy is 33 then i m not born yet. :)))

This video demonstrates that it's the pitches fault. He is bowling at a trundler's pace, clearly unfit, some of the batting is godawful.

That video made me a bit nostalgic - took me few years back.

A bit more than few years actually, say about 85 years ....... when the game was more talunt based ........... true skills & quality.

lolz..ao oldies were getting wicket with 6 steps of run up and we call them GOAT FAST bowlers.

That is some horrific batting

Shows why our domestic averages should be taken with a pinch of salt. Note, Sadaf fans.

This guy takes 16 wickets and instead of being appreciated for such a great performance at the F/C level, he is being ripped apart and being discriminated based on age and for his plus size.

There must be other bowlers younger and thinner than him playing in the same match but they could not produce the same performance as he did.

Only on Pak Passion. :shkhan

In the UK, competitive league matches are played on Saturday whilst friendly matches are played on Sunday.

The teams for Sunday are largely composed of ageing and overweight men who are past their prime. This video reminds me of that.

Age is just a number.

Some of the shots were rather agricultural :)

Old is Gold :misbah

Great performance today in Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, Saad Altaf 6-88 against SSGCL.

This youngsta beauty clearly has a fair bit of talent. If he goes on a diet and gets a Kallis/Bollinger style wig it could knock 10 years off him.
