Why did they put the effort of making a trophy, they cud have given biscuit packets as trophy. That would have been better marketing.

Embarrassed PCB Launches an Inquiry Into Biscuit Trophy Fiasco

Karachi: "Embarrassed" by the biscuit-shaped trophy that became a social media joke before the T20I series against Australia, the Pakistan Cricket Board on Wednesday launched an inquiry into the fiasco.

Social media was flooded with jokes ridiculing the PCB after a biscuit-shaped trophy was unveiled for the series earlier this month that Pakistan won 3-0.

"The silverware was an embarrassment for us and investigation is being held as to how the concerned department allowed this to happen," a PCB official said on condition of anonymity.

Another source said the head of PCB's marketing department, Naila Bhatti, has now resigned.

"The PCB is subsequently planning a revamp in its marketing department," he said.

The silverware for the T20I series was trolled across social media platforms, and the International Cricket Council (ICC) added fuel to the fire by comparing it with the Champions Trophy silverware.

The source said the Board has ordered the inquiry into the functioning of its marketing department, which currently has 13 members.

Above is 'Gross exaggerated' as per PCB sources.
 
It was a funny and memorable trophy. And the biscuit company sponsored the cup so it went down well with them. They likened the biscuit to the bails.

Sad someone got fired for it. I think they did a good job, all propaganda is good propaganda, and given it was just a T20 series, good way to spread publicity about it.
 
And now we have one with name of sponsor so prominent in it!

PCB should be happy that they are able to get some sponsors on board. Don't scare them away.
 
*sigh :facepalm: I thought of Comedy Nights with Kapil when I saw the Oye Hoye on the trophy for some reason. I mean, when comparing with the cookie trophy this one is a bit more bearable but still..

Checked it again. It's 'Oye Hoye' not 'Oye Guru'. :viru
 
There is a logic behind making these types of trophies, other team doesn't want to win that trophy and take it to their home.
 
These sponsors really need to reigned in. TUC set this ugly precedent and I'm afraid more will follow suite.
 
Lol. This sponsor learnt from tuc's mistakes. Instead of making the trophy a different shape, why not make your name the actual trophy with a little bit of stumps and stuff in the background? TUC put their name in more subtly, but Oye Hoye decided to take it further.

Way worse than what Tuc tried to get away with, and at least Tuc's looked kind of novelty. This just looks stupid, as I said the name seems bigger than the rest of the trophy lol.

This trophy just feels classless tbh. Tuc's was a lot cooler.

Honestly I don't really mind these outlandish trophy designs. It's either you have some generic trophy that is always recycled, or a stupid looking, but entertaining one.
 
Lol the South Africa Pakistan trophy looks like a man of the match award. I would much rather have that massive Moose Trophy

The first one reminds me of my 5th standard plastic clipboard with stickers. The other one actually looks pretty cool tbh.
 
Does anyone know what happens to these JAMODI trophies? Who takes them home? Does the victor store them somewhere or are they just consigned to the scrapheap?
 
Too generic. They could have made it revolution cup, maybe a helicopter (shot) as a trophy
