What's new

[PICTURE/VIDEOS] It wasn't the brilliance of Virat Kohli but the mediocrity of our bowlers -Thanks Irfan Khan Niazi for the reality check

Naseem is accurate for the most part. Just doesn't generate enough pace or lift nowadays to threaten batsmen . Not consistently anyway
What do you mean by "nowadays"? Since his debut, he has averaged below 32 in only one year. In his first two years he averaged 32 and 37.

It's hilarious how you guys hype up a bowler who averages the same as Abey Kuruvilla Nd venkatesh Prasad in tests.

Naseem Shah has never been good since his debut. You guys just fell for the fake hype and now cannot admit you were wrong.

Numbers don't lie. You can keep repeating the fake hype and I will keep destroying you with actual numbers..

I said he cannot sustain pace these days. Nowhere have I commented on his efficacy

What are you waffling on about? Naseem was far quicker 5 years ago than he is now. That's all I've said/implied.
Let me state your exact words.

Just doesn't generate enough pace or lift nowadays to threaten batsmen

This is clearly implying he used to threaten batsmen before. No he never did.

And if he was as useless before as today what does it matter how fast he bowled? What was even your point? He was useless when he bowled fast but now he is not bowling fast? Ok and? What was the point?

Not the first time you got caught over hyping him and then being forced to backtrack.

Naseem was much more threatening prior to his loss of pace/injury . And that's across formats. You are reading whatever you want into this.

The MCG Kohli innings was the greatest t20 innings ever period alongside Mike Hussey semi final 2010 innings.

You can rank them either at 1 or 2 or tied at 1.

Both had Pakistan choking.

Reason I have Kohli at 1 is because Pak really didn’t choke all the way until the end which triggered by Kohli.

Hussey was given pies to ease into it.

Kohli had to face solid bowling all the way until the end. Haris didn’t really do that bad until that legside toss.

It was Nawaz who threw it to the ducks.
Lol, Hussey faced more difficult bowling. Rauf was bowling like a clown.

Kohli had a tougher situation 100% agreed and it was a harder chase overall given the circumstances but the bowling that hussey faced was superior.

Still I'd rate Kohli's knock higher.

Conditions Kohli faced made the bowling tougher. Haris really bottled it on the delivery right after he got hit for a six over his head.

It was Nawaz who threw it away at the end. His deliveries were the worst ever in any t20 tournament. Proper pies.

That logic is stupid.

That's like saying Scoring a century against Glenn Mcgrath is easier then scoring a century against haris Rauf because in that specific scenario it was easier to cross the line vs Mcgrath then it was against Rauf?

Pakistan's bowling attack from 2010 is far superior then the one from 2022, Ajmal bottled it at the end with pies but that's only 3 deliveries, match was over by that point.

Kohli's situation was tougher when you factor in the scoreboard pressure + chasing 48 of 18 vs your arch rival nation + RR pressure however the bowling he faced was still 10x easier then what Hussey faced.

However Hussey didn't have to deal with an insurmountable RR from the get go and hence could keep pace.

In fact Mattew Wade in 2021 semi final had it harder then Both Kohli and Hussey since he had to chase 48 of 18 as well, and 2021 pk bowling attack is superior to 2022 pk bowling attack.

You’re just throwing out factors like nothing. 10x easier? Really? Did you see how India was folding to so called bad bowling by Pak lol, that Kohli innings was all that held it together + pies by Nawaz. He was the only batsman to make a substantial score that game from both sides.

Now Mathew Wade 2021 had it harder than both Kohli and Hussey 😂

Chalo. Whatever you want it to be. I’m done defending an Indian player given current circumstances.

Wade had it harder yes, theirs no denying it. Indians and media overglorify everything.

The equation was exactly the same except wade had no time to settle againat a better bowling attack while kohli came in early and batted the entire game, he was well set by the time the equation was 48 of 18.

It's not my fault that Kohli decided to take it to the end and nearly lose the game has Rauf's full toss and nawaz's wides + no balls disnt help him while wade finished it with an entire over to spare.
