No it is not. Rule was changed. Would have been no ball earlier. Can’t believe Misbah complained to umpire about this what are PCB analysts doing ?

Isn't it standard procedure for the umpire to double check the line after every dismissal? Why was it not done in this case?

Besides, I doubt it would have made much difference, Yasir is sitting duck against anything outside the offstump with the slips in place

I was wondering about this very thing during the WI series. Many times bowlers were hitting the side crease and I was wondering if I'm just crazy or that this is a rule. Never knew the rule had changed,

For someone with some batting ability and being a senior player, that was a shocking waft outside the offstump. This is not the first time Yasir Shah has wafted outside the offstump giving catching practice to the slips, teams have worked him out and know the best to deal with him is to get him fishing outside the off stump very early in the innings.

Wow. Didn't know the rule had changed. So bowlers can bowl from the end of the crease at very wide angles now?

Rules have changed. Commentators addressed this issue. NZ commies are not like Australians who are completely biased.

What’s the new rule?

According to old rules, bowler’s backfoot touching the side crease is a no ball.

What has changed?

Mcullum explained it on the commentary. I think you can go to the edge of the side crease if some part of your footing is inside. Earlier it was a no ball if you touch that..

The rule definitely changed.

I think a similar issue popped up during the English summer because people didn't know the new rule.

so Misbah, the greatest sober coach, does not even know this

Cant coach
Cant strategize
Don't know rules

"Law 24 of the MCC which deals with no balls, explicitly states that a delivery will be deemed legitimate in respect of the feet, in delivery stride, if the bowler's back foot lands within and not touching the return crease appertaining to his stated mode of delivery.”

They basically changed the interpretation to focus on the "lands" part. Jamiesons first contact (seen on video) was clearly inside the crease. When he lands... then during the continuation of the motion, his foot twists & slides out- as seen in the picture. But that is a few frames after he landed.

So ICC commitee a few years ago said the interpretation would be that as long as the initial landing is inside, they aren't going to worry about where it slides afterward.

Noball aside I will give out and drop yasir for the next match for this pathetic shot at that stage of game. Absolute shambolic stuff. The biggest problem with yasir shah is he doesn’t want to improve especially in the bowling department afraid of bowling googly

he should not be playing as a spinner in sena hes not good enough to hold a end

Thanks this makes sense
