Great pictures, thanks for sharing.
Could you please give a little information as to the location and how to get there(nearest airport, major road et)?
The quickest way to get there is to fly to Islamabad and then drive from there. It's around a 5 hour journey to get to shogran and then 2 hours from there to get to the lake. The roads are pretty good for the most part however from Naran to the lake, the road is pretty bad and you need to get a professional to take you there in a jeep but that's only a 40 minute journey.
Thanks. I usually stay in Islamabad when in Pakistan so shouldn't be a problem. Is it ok to travel there in the winter too or better in the summer?
Summer would definitely be better I think as a poster said. But I'm sure it'd still be beautiful in the winter. Also, I think they close down the lake in the winter months
Next time I will defo visit. I assume there are plenty of hotels nearby?
Yep a few hotels in Shogran (one excellent one where I stayed called Arcadian spruce woods. There's another one more popular but this is much better) and a lot of hotels in naran near the lake. If I go there again I'd probably just stay in shogran and drive to the lake early in the morning and come back at night.
Any local cuisine or food you recommend? I like trying out local dishes(if there are any), makes the trip more memorable taking in all the local culture and customs.
Ozymandiasza I remember you were thinking of visiting Pakistan. If you do, it'll be one of the best experiences of your life
