[PICTURES] Haris Rauf's performance in ODIs

We can already predict how Rauf’s career will progress and how his supporters will react at every instance.

He will get tonked by the top teams more often than not, and his supporters will defend him by saying that look, he only started bowling with a hard ball 3 days ago, so give him time because he is a late bloomer.

When that excuse will run out of gas, they will then criticize Misbah, Waqar and Babar. They will say Misbah is defensive, Waqar is clueless and Babar has become a dummy captain who doesn’t use his own head.

When that excuse will also run out of gas, they will give up on him and move on to hyping another mediocre new bowler and the cycle will continue.

We can predict ur every posts too.....see the similarity....

Rauf may not turn out to be world beater but he is definitely well above Wahab Riaz in every sense. Having said that Wahab is not a bad bowler by any stretch of imagination

These are apparently the quicker bowlers.

The last time I saw a right arm fast bowler from Pak as skillful as Rauf was M.Sami and even he had a decent ODI career. I can bet my house that even if he doesn't improve much he will atleast have a better career than Wahab in ODIs and T20s.

and if he get immense control like Dale Steyn there is no reason to believe he will perform like him as well although a shorter career considering his age. Terrific skills set to begin with.

Inzamam on Haris Rauf

"Haris Rauf maybe new to the scene but he still doesnt know how to bowl with the new ball; He has been bowling with the old ball for a while and also his temperament is that of a bowler who only balls 4 overs (T20) - its not that of a 10 over bowler - and he doesnt know how to bowl 10 overs"

"This is a moment of reflection for Pakistan that whilst we have 2 good bowlers in Wahab and Haris, both bowlers need to work with Waqar and learn about this"

Anything good coming from you in Pakistan cricket .... not possible. Keep you negativity to your self please.....

In your dreams mate. All those bowlers except Mavi and nagarkoti are better. I would even take spray gun Varun over a can like Rauf.

Loooooooooooooooooool.....different era bro.

Time has changed. Odi now is batsman friendly. Bowler averaging 25-28 would easily be equal to 21-24 in pre 2010 era.

Same applies to tests. pitches are being doctored to suit home teams especially saffers and Aussies. Kings of doctoring pitches. Yet they will blame others ROFL.

So yes the Indian Pacers are world class.

Then Shaheen if he maintains his current 19.9 average in ODIs is potential GOAT?

I don’t get the logic.

Varun ...LOL Varun who has a first class avg of 32 and is 31 by the way....Lol......RAuf is 26 .....so any sane ppl will invest in Rauf than Aron......:ua

With no disrespect to you, but there in ends any credibility that your views might have had in my eyes.

Hes new but he has the raw ingredients to becoming a good bowler for pakistan

Hope hes given more chances going forward Im sure with his skills he ll come out well

Whilst he clearly can do better, I found it curious how his wrist position slightly gave away once he started on pitch on middle and leg, in trying to bowl the magic leg to off ball. Something to work on.

The other main takeaway from the first three overs was the t20 mindset/slight lack of patience. He had a very good outswinger going. Just keeping bowling that stock ball and change it up with a bouncer/Yorker or slower one from time to time. This I believe is something which he'll learn quickly.

Thirdly, this is the thing I found most frustrating was the inconsistency in pitching on the right length with the new ball. Again, it's early days but he needs to plan out his over better. He's too competent for it to be an ability issue.

Lastly, and you've mentioned this regularly, his run up is painful to watch, especially his tippy toeing at the start. It's actually incredible he generates the speed he does despite that run up. Make that run up smooth and the gains will be apparent.

In closing, despite the early leakage of runs, I would keep giving Haris the new ball, as he could become a real difference maker for us. Giving an Imad the new ball is such a retrograde, backwards step, and with Haris u atleast have the chance of an early wicket

He definitely should be given the new ball

The swing he was getting away from the batters at pace is potentially a lethal weapon upfront that with shaheen on the other end also doing the same could prise out a couple of wkts consistently for pakistan

All he needs is like youve said is have more patience and to start bowling with a little more control n consistentcy

I was pretty impressed with the raw ingredients he has He just needs polishing up a bit

Have seen the glimpses of his outswing when he bowled some ROSS of Sydney thunder....that was peach....

Fine....Rauf is better but Rauf is still a can. Don't like him. Not good enough.

Need more players like Shaheen.

There's genuine potential with the new ball for Haris Rauf, its his accuracy that he should work on and from the looks of it, he will improve that specially with Waqar Younis.

I personally would like to see him work on some variety in his bowling, bowl some cutters and slow balls now and then, specially at the death but he seems to be a work in progress.
