What a despicable act. Pakistan's higher moral ground doesn't allow for the gentleman's game to be withered :ahmed
 
I understand the attitude of being the nice guys but moments like this really test that stance.

Wish we had Shoaib, Wasim, Waqar and co. would love to see how the sledging from Hales would have gone with them :'(

One can only dream.
 
While Being Hafeezesque with the willow in hand, Hales comes across as a proper toolish whiner !! Are Botham and Hales distantly related or what ??

Wouldn't have survived a set of six balls from any of the blokes you just mentioned - Would've been minced into oblivion and given proper sent offs with each passing innings !!
 
Alex Hales fined 15% of match fees for breaching the ICC Code of Conduct

England opener has been fined 15 per cent of his match fee

England opener Alex Hales has been fined 15 per cent of his match fee for breaching the ICC Code of Conduct during the opening day’s play in the fourth Test against Pakistan at The Oval on Thursday.

Hales was found to have breached Article 2.1.5 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which relates to “showing dissent at an umpire’s decision during an international match”.

The incident happened during the first session’s play when Hales, after being given out caught by Yasir Shah off Mohammad Amir, visited the third umpire’s room and questioned the decision. He also made some inappropriate comments as he was leaving the room.

After the day’s play, Hales admitted the offence and accepted the sanction proposed by Richie Richardson of the Emirates Elite Panel of ICC Match Referees. As such, there was no need for a formal hearing.

All Level 1 breaches carry a minimum penalty of a warning/reprimand and/or the imposition of a fine of up to 50 per cent of the applicable match fee.

Seriously need that aspect of our game back, especially in our bowlers.

I hope that future bowlers that enter into the Pakistan team are aggressive like their predecessors, unlike the current lot (except Wahab, but need performance as well on a consistent basis).
 
Disgusting. How is this any different from spot fixing? Bringing the game to disrepute should have a similar punishment.

I wish we had a bowler like Akhtar. All these lulloo opening batsmen used to be shivering in their shoes scared that the next ball might be the last of their careers/lives.

We have been too much of the good guys on this tour. Need some chin music, need to inflict some injuries onto these arrogant English.

Amazing - in this day and age, you can walk into the 3rd umps room and abuse him?

ECB needs to act also.

Alex Hales has been Mohammad Amir's bunny for the last three weeks.

You have pretty much mentally destroyed him. Don't go getting sucked into his childish war - just make sure that you let him get himself out in the second innings.

We want to see a Wahab with blood in his eyes. All of these arrogant angraiz will be running for cover just like in the UAE..
 
As I've written in the other thread, Mohammad Amir has left Alex Hales' Test career hanging by a thread and he is unraveling mentally.

Pakistan need to make sure that they keep their heads while Hales loses his.
 
Best to ignore this hack. He's not a test standard player.

I've never seen Pakistan ever sledge back in recent memory.
 
Hales test career will be hold after he fails again in 2nd inns, we will then see who is crying!

Btw Hales should also be reprimanded for his tweet, along with Broad. Swann was also involved, but the less said about him the better.

The reaction was okay because Azhar was acting like a little girl... running to the umpire because they are sledging you... Hell, I'd dump him out of the team for being a straight up...

It's a shame we have no bowlers who like to sledge and can perform at the same time too anymore.
 
Sledging kinda defeats the purpose of it and looks ridiculous when the person sledging is on the verge of being dropped and doesnt even have a successful career in the past he can point to
 
Honestly wish Wahab Riaz Or Ahmed Shezad were out their in the middle. That would of been a tasty sight to see.
 
You can't just walk into the third umpires box and abuse him. Extremely poor and the ECB need to act and make an Examlle of Hales

Wow.. escaped with just 15% punishment after he abused 3rd umpire? Remember how Anderson abused Jadeja abused 2 years back and Jadeja was fined 50%.. talk about double standards!
 
He walked into the third umpire's room and only got 15% fine? Honestly have seen players getting worse punishments for just glaring at the umpire .

Find its often the guys performing badly doing a lot of the sledging. It's often as if at least they can contribute in this way since they're doing nothing with the bat or ball.
 
Hales is going to destroy Pakistan in ODIs and make sure that Pakistan would be playing the qualifiers in 2018 against Uganda etc so they can qualify for the 2019 annual beatdown. :kohli
 
Nothing wrong with Hayles sledging. Azhar should grow up and stop being a wussy totally embarrassing to watch his cowardly response. Don't like it, Give it back or shut up.

Hales needs to learn how to play first though. Haven't seen such an ordinary Test opener in a while, and I am a Pakistani fan.
 
Hales has lost his confidence. He does not believe he belongs in Test Cricket.

This reminds me of Faisal Iqbal sledging KP in 2006. KP replied with something to the effect of, "Score a fifty first and then talk!' Although I hated KP, even I had to agree with that. You look rather silly, to put it mildly, when you sledge someone, oblivious to the fact that you are utter crud and leagues behind the one you are sledging.
 
Unimpressive by Hales. Spitting the dummy, dropping sitters - he could have failed to book a seat on the plane to India. I'd give Lyth another go.
 
Someone should sledge him back when he comes to bat in the 2nd innings.

But the Pakistani players all look nice on the field. I can't think of a guy who can sledge him barring Wahab.

being reactive and snapping back at every oppurtunity is not a sign of a strong minded person....for those saying wish we had big mouths like shehzad or U Akmal in the team i seriously question thier credentials as a man. Good on Pakistan for staying stoic in the face of blabber mouths...let the ducks quack i say old boy....

Hales, welcome to the hall of crybabies that already has Anderson, Broad, Stokes, Cook, and Root.
 
English cry babies thought that we will lie down as they did 5 times in UAE ..but the shaheens have fought well done Pakistan we may still lose the series but they have surely exceeded the expectations ..taking first innings leads in 3 out of 4 test shows that our team is the right direction ...and a good second opener and a seaming AR would make our team complete and probably the best test team in the world..
