Can't help if you have already made some perception.

But to ease your pain, open Pakistan edition of Cricinfo and your PSL score, Pak cricket news everything will come on top. It gives the option to select the edition, else works based on location from where page is opened.

It's not just some biased perception and there's no pain. To give you another example, the accusation against Yasir shah made it as a highlight but when it was determined by court that he was free of any guilt Cricinfo never gave up the follow up news.

Cric1234 Well MS middle order is not very good. As I said Rizwan and Shan were carrying their batting. Even their lower order is inconsistent.

Not always true there were quick 50s from the middle order winning them matches but today the pressure of the final maybe they all failed at the same time.

Safe to say Lahore’s got this, the confidence SSA will take from this into the Australia series!

Happy for Lahore, especially they have few current Pakistani stars playing for them. Good for their confidence going into Australia series.

Multan and IU have to look at their bowling resources for the next season. There's no reason that Akif Javed should be sitting out over Ruman.

Regardless of the presence foreign players thoroughly enjoyed the local players in this tournament.

This game was lost the second rizwan got out early. Don't know why everyone was holding on to hope till now

Get Tahir and Dahani and do a lap of honour to really annoy them!

It is the table toppers curse, they always mess up in the final.
Lahore was slightly lucky to reach the final, but their maiden psl trophy in their home ground is well deserved.

This would have been the best psl season so far had karachi not performed so terrible

In the world of flat tracks, I am hoping that PSL has the courage to award Shaheen as the player of the tournament. The fast bowlers are the most under fire in T20s.

SSA deserves the credit. Good energy, high spirits. LQ played the final like a champion team. Good entertainment and now every team has won atleast 1 PSL.

Can't be Shaheen on bowling alone. Shadab picked up equal wickets in lesser matches but also scored a lot of runs at a very healthy rate. Shadab and Fakhar are probably the top candidates.

Best PSL in terms of local Pakistani talent

Worst PSL in terms of foreign players

Can they please take Fawad Rana out of wherever they are hiding him???

Very happy for Shaheen. I can never forget when Misbah didn't rate his bowling the 19 WC. He's a true champ!

Congrats Lahore, inspirational stuff from SSA, Rauf, Wiese, Fakhar and Zaman!

Congratulations Lahore their bowling was the best in the tournament and that's what makes u win trophies

Delighted for Lahore Qalandars. They are one Franchise who have truly struggled for this moment. They kept running the franchise 24/7/365 and invested heavily into the game, the talent camps. The perfect icing on the cake they achieved this win in front of their home crowd in Lahore

Looks like a three way fight for the national team captaincy in future. Babar’s position is in threat. And that’s a great positive for the national side if we manage these resources properly.

What about shaheen with his bowling and captaincy

Shaheen has been brilliant but at one moment, Fakhar was the only one scoring for LQ. Shaheen had the support of Rauf and Zaman. As for Shadab, he's great with the bat and the ball while being the sole spinner.

Shaheen is only 21 years old is he the youngest captain to win a franchise tournament. He might be i guess.

I would say rizwan is right up thier to get the captaincy especially in t20s.

Somewhere babar azam will be feeling insecure now. Leadership skills shown by ssa and rizwan were exceptional.

I was just thinking that he captained well and pluss fakhar didn't fire in semi final and final.

Best team in PSL was always LQ, they won handsomely today even without their best player Rashid Khan

Second best team was actually IU

Congratulations Lahore fans. We won finally! Deservingly too.

Now the only thing left is to see a smile on Fawad Rana's face. I wonder where he is

Rizwan named Player of HBL PSL 7

• The official nomenclature of the tournament is HBL PSL. Media houses are instructed to use correct event nomenclature in all texts, headlines and bulletins

Lahore, 27 February 2022:

Mohammad Rizwan’s stunning and consistent performance earned him another rich reward when he was adjudged the Player of HBL PSL 7.

Rizwan also collected the Wicketkeeper of the HBL PSL 2022 award. In 12 matches, he accounted for nine batters behind the stumps.

Earlier in the year, Rizwan was declared the Most Valuable Cricketer as well as T20I Cricketer as part of the PCB Awards 2021.

All the individual winners, except the Umpire of the HBL PSL 2022 award, were selected by the members of the commentary team, who followed and described almost every ball of this highly entertaining, thrilling and exciting tournament. They considered player stats, but this was not the only criteria to pick the winners.

Lahore Qalandars Fakhar Zaman and Shadab Khan of Islamabad United were adjudged the Best Batter and Bowler, respectively. Samit Patel:

"When is Shaheen Shah Afridi never fired up? He is always fired up; But that shows his character, I have always said that he's a bloke who wants to lead from the front and he does lead from the front, and you just need to see his performances; Him and his mate from the other end, Haris - always want to bowl fast, and they bowl fast"

REPORT: Lahore Qalandars overcame the hurt and disappointment spread over six HBL Pakistan Super League seasons by lifting the glittering HBL PSL 7 trophy in front of 27, 000 adoring Lahore spectators (houseful) at the Gaddafi Stadium on Sunday night as Multan Sultans’ dream of becoming the first team to successfully defend an HBL PSL title was shattered with a 42-run defeat.

Qalandars – losing finalists in HBL PSL 5, finished last in the first four seasons and fifth in HBL PSL 6 but chose the perfect setting to not only lift the trophy but also to pocket PKR 80 million while providing incredible joy and memories of a lifetime to their fans in their own backyard.

Batting second, Sultans were never quite in the hunt in their 181-run chase once their prolific opening partnership of Mohammad Rizwan (14) and Shan Masood (19) was dismantled.

Mohammad Hafeez (player of the match) who produced his best innings with the bat of the season in the all-important final made a telling contribution with the ball by bowling Rizwan before Fakhar Zaman produced a sensational bit of fielding to run out Shan after the opener was stranded in the middle of the pitch following a misunderstanding with his partner Aamer Azmat.

Fakhar, moments later, took a fine tumbling catch to end Aamer’s (6) innings.

Sultans kept losing wickets at regular intervals against some high octane Qalandars bowling. Tim David’s dismissal for 27 courtesy another sensational catch by Fakhar on the first ball of the 17th over bowled by Qalandars talismanic captain Shaheen Shah Afridi finished the game for Sultans with Shaheen bowling David Willey (0) on the fourth ball of the same over with an unplayable yorker.

Khushdil (32) was dismissed by Haris Rauf in the next over while Shaheen castled Rumman Raees (6), Imran Tahir’s (10) dismissal in the final over to David Weise sparked celebrations in the Qalandars dug out and the entire stadium.

Meanwhile Qalandars win means all six HBL PSL franchises have now lifted the trophy at least once, Islamabad United are the only side to win two titles (2016 and 2018).

Earlier, Qalandars’ never-say-die attitude was at the forefront for the umpteenth time in HBL PSL 7 as after a disastrous start (elected to bat at the toss), the home side sent the crowd into sheer jubilation with a magnificent end to their innings as 77 runs were added off the last 30 balls.

Asif Afridi gave Sultans a brilliant start to the final with a two-wicket burst while Willey took one wicket to stun the packed crowd. Qalandars were left reeling at 25 for three in 4.2 overs. Asif dismissed Fakhar (3) – the leading run-getter of the HBL PSL 7 (588 runs) and Abdullah Shafique (14).

Willey accounted for Zeeshan Ashraf (7) who was included in the Qalandars eleven for the final. The Qalandars veteran Hafeez revived the innings in a 54-run fourth-wicket alliance with Kamran Ghulam (15).

Hafeez upped the scoring rate with a series of boundaries and chose the perfect timing to post his first fifty off the season. The right-hander was eventually dismissed for 69 off 46 (nine fours and one six).

Hafeez’s departure with 16 balls remaining did not help Sultans much as the Eliminator 2 player-of-the-match Wiese perfectly mirrored his batting contribution on Friday (28 off eight, one four, three sixes).

Harry Brook was another star performer as the English youngster sizzled with 41 unbeaten runs off 22 (two fours, three sixes). Brook and Wiese added 43 off 16, Brook had earlier added 58 off 33 with Hafeez.

Player of the match Mohammad Hafeez: “I want to thank everyone who came to witness the game, it was an amazing atmosphere. My management backed me and I think this was a great time to perform. It is all about absorbing some pressure, the partnership between me and Harry Brook really helped. For the last seven years Lahore had worked so hard to win this trophy. Shaheen is a superstar to me and to the whole nation he gave us all real backing throughout the event.”

Scores in brief:

Lahore Qalandars 180 for 5, 20 overs (Mohammad Hafeez 69, Harry Brook 41 not out, David Wiese 28 not out; Asif Afridi 3-19)

Multan Sultans 138 all out, 19.3 overs (Khushdil Shah 32, Tim David 27; Shaheen Shah Afridi 3-30, Mohammad Hafeez 2-23, Zaman Khan 2-26)
