I was at Mapperley sports looking to buy a new bat, whilst there I took few pictures of new bats. I was surprised to see they had SS gear and I was told they will be getting SS TON KP soon. Also they will have Boom boom gear this year. Pictures will be uploaded shortly. Feel free to comment and ask any question(s)

Yaar everybat I touched had awesome feel. I tried all GM player edition bats mallet tested them. The best one in my opinion was the Shane Watson one, that bat was huge, massive edges no convaving and super light pick up it felt abt 4oz lighter then its actual weight.

Pictures are not as good as I normally take but these will do for now..If I go again then I will surely take some better ones. sorry about the delay I messed up uploading them with same names I had before. upload speed is only 300kb.

Thanks 4 sharing this gray nicolls legend lookss monster :O

Looks brilliant thanks Majid Bhai!

Yaar tell us about GM Flare Players, Shane Watson and GN Scoop how did they pick up?

Amazing bats bro! Thanks for sharing!

I tried all GM player edition bats mallet tested them all were massive pieces of willow.

First I tried GM Epic player edition(Graeme Smith). I picked it up and it felt bit heavy, more wood in bottom of the bat but extented sweetspot.

GM Icon player edition (J. Trott) similar weight to Graeme smith pick up index i think it felt like 3.

GM Icon player edition (Ross Taylor) similar shape to icon concaved, very high spine and thick edges, good balance and pick up. (bat was similar like my GM+ Icon 808 2.9)

GM Flare player edition (Shane Watson) was the best one in my opinion, that bat was huge, massive edges no convaving and super light pick up it felt like a feather abt 4oz lighter then its actual weight. To me it felt like 2.7. It felt the best nice perfect bow, amazing finish on it.

The Gray Nicolls scoop in the picture is 2.11 but when I picked it up it felt much lighter then the weight, edges are very big. Balance is good for easy stroke play and it feels good. The other GN oblivion Extreme pro is very nice, I was interested in buying it. Oblivion shape has changed slightly the sweetspot is touch higher and picks up lighter. 2.12 felt very light to me.

Does Ross Taylor's Icon Players Edition some what resembles Laver & Wood shape?

Despite I already know but was Flare Watson Players Edition shape just like off shelf Flare? Obviously Watson Flare is bigger as you described...

How did Gray Nicolls 100 Scoop respond from the centre? Since that's where scoop is so how was the rebound down there?

Yes, Oblivion shape has changed. Must say this looks very nice too!

Thanks a ton bro!

awesome bats, the flare looks lovely and the scoop in interesting what does the middle feel like considering it has little wood behind it?

Thanks a ton bro!

Just given a couple of GN100 Scoops the full mallet test and find that there is no loss of rebound from the middle. They mallet very well close to the edge as you would expect when they measure about 47mm. The GN 100 Scoop must be a candidate for the best value bat around at the moment.

Anmol, I also thought the middle would be not be so good but I was wrong. When I tested it pinged very well off it. I dont know how but it sounded very sweet like if there was lot of wood behind it.

No GM Icon Player Edition(Ross Taylor) is almost same as normal icon.
I think it weighed about 2.10 but when you look at the huge size of the bat you think this much weigh over 3lb but it doesn't picks up really light.

Shane Watson Flare player edition is same shape as normal flare but lot bigger.

Ah okay, thanks for telling me, I appreciate it!

I agree they are best value bat in the market at the moment.

Are all of the Scoops you have Made in England?

So you guys use Harrow bats? At your age I basically had no kit except one bat that too a very inexpensive one...lol; funny thing is, I used to play better when I was in my teens and did not have much stuff then but now that I have grown older, I have too much stuff but cannot play as well as I used to :)

So who is a better batsman and the better bowler among you two? :D

We are in our teens and we are equally good in batting but we suck at bowling, especially me...:)

Are you a batsman or a bowler?Or an All-Rounder?

HashimAmlaFan and straightdrive bhaiyo,

Do you guys use mens size pads and gloves?

The glove that I used to use was in youth size but I had to change them because they are small for me and it really sucked....

Not sure about the size of the current pads...

Recently bought a CA PLUS gloves and I think that it is men's size...
Fits me well...

Ah okay, so when you will be buying the SG Test pads you will buy in mens size?

If you don't mind me asking, can you tell me how much did you pay for those CA gloves? I just want to compare prices of Pakistani/CA gear in Bangladesh with what they go for in Pakistan.

JazaakAllah Khair

Yap,will buy them in Men's size...

I had to pay Tk.3200 which is around Rs 3428.9773 am I right?

Yes around that in Pakistani Rupees.

That is slightly expensive compared to what they are in Pakistan but it make sense as you have to pay for postage, custom charges and all that.
