Karachi- December 29, 2016: Chairman PCB Shaharyar M Khan inaugurated Hanif Mohammad’s Karachi High-Performance Center (HPC) today in Karachi where Chairman Executive Committee Najam Sethi, COO Subhan Ahmad, BOG Members, Shoaib Mohammad and media persons were also present.

Addressing the people after academy inauguration, Chairman PCB said,

“I am immensely pleased to inaugurate the state-of-the-art centre named after Hanif Mohammad, one of the greatest cricketing heroes that the country has produced, the third such facility in the country after Lahore and Multan.

Hanif Mohammad was a true ambassador of the game, who had served the country for many years and played some exceptional innings. I hope the young players during their stay in the HPC will get inspiration from the life of great little master and will follow the footsteps of him. The Hanif Mohammad HPC would help look after young talent available in the Sindh region and provide opportunities to the players to enhance their skills under the supervision of professional coaches/ support staff employed by the PCB. The PCB has recently inaugurated an academy in Multan and is looking forward to promote the game in the remote areas as well. It was PCB’s vision to unearth talent from the grass-root level, and the HPC will help the young players to work on their skills and showcase their talent at the international level.”

The HPC will be having 42 rooms in total, with 30 newly constructed rooms in the new block, which also contains a Lecture room, gym and a swimming pool. Nine wickets are prepared in the outdoor for the players to practice.

Good initiative, hope Karachi again begins producing stellar talent like years gone by.

Good stuff and long long due

Not at NCA's level but atleast something

I didn't know that a City of 23 mn, didn't have a PCB academy after 70 years!!!!!!!!

Anyway, great initiatives, if the cricket facilities are good. More than the AC rooms & media centre & pool ... I am more interested about the 9 practice wickets.

Haven't Pakistanis heard of central conditioning? That's more convenient than installing a dozen split acs

Looks pretty good but what's with the awful tv on the fridge. Looks out of place

This should be producing sindhi players. What went wrong? Is it being utilised?

Which 6 cities will have performance centre apart from Multan, Karachi and Lahore?

The BoG approved in-principle the construction of 60 additional (international quality) player rooms each at the National High Performance Centre in Lahore and Hanif Mohammad High Performance Centre in Karachi. When completed, this will resolve the PCB’s challenges around logistics, security and road commuting, as well as setting-up and handling the Managed Event Environment
