Multan-December 8, 2016: Chairman PCB Shaharyar M Khan inaugurated Inzamam ul Haq Multan High-Performance Centre (HPC) today in Multan where Subhan Ahmad, Mudassar Nazar, Ali Zia, Inzamam ul Haq, Mushtaq Ahmed, Test cricketer Shabbir Ahmed Manzoor Elahi, Zahoor Elahi, Malik Bashir- Father of Late Aamir Bashir, regional coaches, dignitaries and media persons were also present.

Chairman PCB expressed his deepest condolences to the families of the people who died in a PIA plane crash on Wednesday. Addressing the people after academy inauguration, he said

“I am immensely pleased to inaugurate the state-of-the-art centre named after Inzamam ul Haq for his services towards Pakistan cricket, the second such facility in the country after Lahore. The Inzamam-ul-Haq HPC would help cater for young talent available in Southern Punjab and provide opportunities to young players to train under the supervision of professional coaches. I assure you that with the unflinching verve, activeness and innovative approach of highly qualified coaching/support staff employed by PCB for this High Performance Cricket Center, the numbers will increase significantly. The PCB is very much on a mission to promote the game of cricket in remote areas by making this first High Performance Cricket Center operational with Karachi to follow soon.” He named Players Block of the Academy after late Aamir Bashir, a cricketer from Multan who died at a very young age, for his outstanding performance for the region.

Mudassar Nazar, Director Academies briefed the gathering on the work of the academy. He said, the academy has become functional with the stay of two first class regional teams during the recent National T-20 Cup in Multan and U-19 two-week High-Performance Camp. He said, a two-week specialized camp for emerging fast bowlers and batsmen under the supervision of NCA coaches was in full swing since November 28, 2016 in the same HPC. He added, the HPC will be able to house 40 people at a time for academy’s program. He emphasized with the support of PCB, the regional academy will be setup in Abbottabad and remote areas soon.

Inzamam ul Haq thanked Chairman PCB for giving him the honor of naming the HPC after his name and lauding his services towards the game of cricket. He said, the HPC will help the young players to work on their skills and showcase their talent at the international level.

Looks very good this center but I do wish we had more of these in the hometowns of all the big players.

Inzi deserved the centered named after him, was a Pakistan great a batsman, although I don't like him as a selector.

I hope this place doesn't become what the NCA in Lahore became a few years ago - a place which was more famous for players socialising than practising.

I am more interested to know the Coaches who will work with Abdul Rehman Muzammil, Naveed Yasin, Zain Abbass & Majid Ali at this High performance centre.

Are the facilities comparable to high performance centre ?

Should make such centres in Islamabad, Peshawar, Karachi and Quetta as well.
Actually they can make a biomechanics lab in Islamabad easily as it has nearby universities like NUST, FAST, UET as well.
Islamabad hardly has a cricket ground of its own, There used to be Diamond Cricket Club with reasonable facilities and good size and grassy pitches, but due to the construction, it got moved to a smaller location a few kilometers away.

I recall many years back Inzi was going to open a hospital in Multan. Never heard anything about that.

Fastest and Bounciest FC pitch along with Gujranwala.

The Inzamam-ul-Haq High Performance Centre is rumoured to have the most advanced Dietary Science facilities in Pakistan..........

How many High performance centre are there in Pakistan? Can anyone list them all.

Doesnt inspire confidence when you have the likes of Inzi as heads.
Won't be any more than a money making exercise...of course we'll hear all the right vibes like giving 'back to the community' blah blah blah and blah!

Surprised he didn’t name it The Match winner performance center

I'm not sure, I don't think there are many.

Several former players have preferred to go down the Academy route.
