Like any other captain Babar has his good days and bad ones and like any other captain he has his strong points and his weaknesses.

There has been some criticism of his leadership and his selection, but on the other hand many feel he is the best option to lead the team in all 3 formats.

Do you think he should be the skipper in all 3 formats?

After the T20 WC he should step down as T20 Skipper. That will ease pressure off him. He should definitely continue as test skipper but he needs to be more positive with his selections- picking 40 year olds isn't going to win you many games. I have seen no ambition from him at all, it seems he puts loyalty to friends over PK becoming competitive.

I think he can remain captains of ODI and Test.

T20 captaincy can be given to someone else (Rizwan perhaps) to reduce load.

Rizwan can be the T20 captain and Babar can captain in the other two formats.

Shadab should be t20 captain. Rizwan has been playing too much cricket too. And needs serious improvements in test and odis and let him focus there

My view is that he needs more time but then he cannot be left to his own to learn. He needs to be mentored carefully.

Yes, without question.

If they win the T20 WC, maybe Babar can considering stepping down but there's no real need nor are there obvious candidates outside of Rizwan.

I think Test cricket is his weakest format as skipper.

At times he lets the game drift and becomes reactive when he should be proactive.

Bowling changes are questionable at times also.

That's an experience thing and also to do with being Captained by the likes of Misbah and AA, who were both defensive Captains. My major worry is his poor selections, there doesn't appear to be any desire to play with his team, its seems to be more of the same. His loyalty to mates worries me, he isnt captaining his franchise or a family team, he needs to realise that he has to pick the best team for PK and not worry about what his friends say.

Based on what I have seen so far. He has zero leadership qualities and is not natural at the job. I would rather that he focuses on giving Pakistan the best of his services as an individual player in his prime. Leave the captaincy to someone else who is more naturally equipped at the job

One thing I think he has to his advantage is that he has the respect of his team mates.

There is no one else who is guaranteed to start in all 3 formats (Shaheen is a fast bowler who won’t be able to manage the workload..)

Inzamam-ul-Haq in his presser today

"I am of the opinion that there should be one captain for all three formats, as long as he is one who plays in all three formats and can keep his place in each squad"

Babar Azam has an average of over 45 both as a captain and as a non-captain in international cricket.
