Naqvi's biggest sin is holding onto multiple positions that all require a full-time presence. Even if he were the greatest administrator ever, it's impossible to do justice to all his roles from PCB Chairman, Interior Minister, Minister for Narcotics and Senator (may have missed some).

Hiring Kirsten and Gillespie was a coup and the Champions Cup is a decent idea in principle. However that's outweighed by his reinstatement of Babar as white-ball captain which reportedly toxified the dressing room, chopping/changing of selectors, and micromanagement.

Like Ramiz, there seems a reluctance to delegate. If the reason for that is his underlings like Usman Wahla and Salman Naseer aren't up to the job - then replace them ! Wahla should've been shown the door after the NOC debacle with Usama Mir.

think Usman wahla is getting sacked for that NOC debacle and the row with Wahab Riaz...

Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board Mohsin Naqvi left for Dubai for the ICC Board of Directors meeting

The important meeting of the ICC Board of Directors will be held in Dubai today.

Chairman PCB Mohsin Naqvi will attend the meeting of the Board of Directors.

Mohsin Naqvi while addressing the press conference today:

"Our players, for one reason or another, often suffer from injuries, and looking at the past, we see that they’re not recovering well. If you need a bowler, they’re often out with injuries. The talent is there, but it’s not coming to the front. We need to work on this issue and still have a lot of work to do."

"Aaqib Javed is the convener and conducting all meetings at the moment. We’re not just using the title 'chief'; that’s a separate matter. If you observe his contributions in the meetings, he’s conducting eight-hour-long sessions, where everyone has an equal vote. Aaqib has his own experience, as do Aleem Dar and Azhar Ali. Each person brings their expertise, so while Aaqib is the convener, there’s no emphasis on just calling him 'chief'; I think the message is clear."

"If the boys lose on the Australia tour, I’ll take full responsibility, but if they win, the credit goes to them. My only demand is that if we lose, it should be after a fight and not from a complete collapse."

"As for the issue of surgery, all I could do was advise, which I was doing continuously. I don’t want to get into the details. I believe that after the Champions One Day Cup, the players were available, and making a decision at that time would have been easier. If I had acted immediately without any data, it could have been damaging."

"Just because I mentioned surgery doesn’t mean I’d immediately proceed with it in the next hour. I was in favor of resting the underperforming players and letting young talent play. However, I can’t tell you the full story of what was happening with injured players, but hopefully, things will improve for them in the days to come. We need to focus more on the domestic level and our pool of 200-400 cricketers."

With life-saving surgery you need to proceed immediately and PCT is pretty much always on its last few breaths.

Love how here's here to hog the credit for something he couldn't have imagined in even his most vivid wet dream lmao

PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, while speaking to the media at LCCA Ground:

Improving the condition of grounds across Pakistan:

"InshaAllah, you will find the condition of our grounds across Pakistan much improved. Sumair Sahab has taken charge, and in the coming months, you will see that in areas where there are no grounds, we will purchase land to build new ones. For existing grounds, we aim to improve their condition because if these grounds do not remain lively, it will impact international cricket. Our focus is to ensure the availability of grounds in every city. InshaAllah, we will make it happen."

Domestic cricket structure:

"We are empowering every aspect of the domestic cricket structure. We are reviewing everything to ensure that players coming from the lower domestic levels are of high quality. InshaAllah, we will have good updates for you in the coming days."

Preparing practice venues:

"This will definitely serve as a practice venue. It has been used in the past, and we will continue to do so in the future, InshaAllah. For example, in Faisalabad, we faced challenges due to a lack of practice venues for tournaments. We need to make venues available there and in other cities as well."

Stadium renovations:

"We want the Peshawar Stadium to be ready soon. Other stadiums also need renovations so that cricket can return to cities where it was not happening before. InshaAllah, you will see more tournaments in cities like Faisalabad, where we have already hosted one."

Riyadh, 18 December 2024:

Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Mohsin Naqvi met with the Chairman of the Saudi Arabian Cricket Federation, Prince Saud bin Mishal Al Saud, in Riyadh to discuss avenues for cricket development and player training in Saudi Arabia.

During the meeting, Chairman PCB emphasised the importance of mutual collaboration to promote cricket in the region and offered extensive support in stadium development and cricket infrastructure enhancement in Saudi Arabia. He also proposed a player exchange programme to further cricket development in the both nations.

“Pakistan and Saudi Arabia share a strong bond, and we are ready to extend all possible support to strengthen cricket in Saudi Arabia. We look forward to welcoming Saudi players to Pakistan for training and development opportunities. Mohsin Naqvi in a recent media talk shared following thoughts:

Construction timeline of stadiums
:

"You should look at this entire building. In 86 days this entire structure is standing here, so in the next Inshallah you will get the building completed in 20 days accordingly."

Launch Planning:

How would you like to make the launch memorable?

"You will see that it will be a good launch or that of the Champion Trophy."

Team Performance:

"See the thing is that you people should realize one thing. Our team fights, no one can say that our team is not fighting (against South Africa in the ongoing series)."

Medical Care of Saim Ayub:

"I am not going to trust anyone this time because he (Saim Ayub) is our asset. We will ensure that no negligence is carried out in his treatment. I pray that he gets well soon."

Both boards will finalize the program for organizing cricket series between the two countries. An agreement was reached during the meeting.

Chairman PCB, Mohsin Naqvi, assured the CEO of USA Cricket of all possible support.

The PCB is ready to provide full cooperation for the promotion of cricket in the USA, according to Mohsin Naqvi.

Chairman PCB, Mohsin Naqvi, offered to train American coaches in Pakistan.

He also invited the CEO of USA Cricket to visit Pakistan to watch matches of the Champions Trophy tournament.

There are immense opportunities for the promotion of cricket between Pakistan and the USA, stated Mohsin Naqvi.

The Chief Executive Officer of USA Cricket expressed gratitude to Chairman PCB, Mohsin Naqvi, for the invitation to the Champions Trophy tournament.

The CEO of PSL, Salman Nasir, was also present at this occasion.

Mohsin Naqvi, while addressing the media at Gaddafi Stadium Lahore:

"The stadium work practically started around the 8th or 9th of October, and now it’s January 31st. As promised, you can now see the state of the stadium, and it’s looking great."

"On February 7th, InshaAllah, we will inaugurate the Lahore stadium, with the Prime Minister present. On the 11th, the President of Pakistan will inaugurate the Karachi stadium, and on the 16th, we will have the inauguration ceremony of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 in Lahore. After that, our Tri-Series will start on the 8th, followed by the Champions Trophy starting from the 19th."

"Many thanks to all the officials who worked hard on this project. They didn't even return home, and the contractors were working day and night. The stadium will be 100% complete by the 7th before the inauguration. The stadium’s capacity and viewership have significantly improved, and we are ready for the Champions Trophy, which is the main target for us."

"We have been in touch with the ICC to arrange security and other necessary preparations for the teams coming for the Champions Trophy. As we upgraded the stadium, we added new features like a better sound system, bigger screens, and LED lights. We decided to surrender some of the ICC’s tickets to increase our revenue, which was a tough decision."

"We’ve invited all the cricket boards and ICC officials. We’re really excited to host them and ensure everything is perfect for the guests."

"Some people across the border are trying to find any flaws. If even a stone is misplaced, they are attempting to point it out, but InshaAllah, they won’t find any flaws. There's also some talk about the seats in the stadium, which came from China. These are international standard chairs, with a 20-year warranty, and we are confident they will be up to expectations."

"Today the entire selection committee is sitting together. InshaAllah, the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 Pakistan squad will be announced at any time today."

"The work done here has been extraordinary, and it’s only possible because of the efforts of the PCB team and contractors. We’ll continue to improve everything right up to the 7th. Also, the stadium was completed in record time, with the workers being invited for a special lunch on the 7th and 8th."

"Regarding the ICC Champions Trophy, we have sent invitations to all boards, including the Indian Cricket Board. Some officials will attend the semi-finals, while others plan to attend the finals. As of now, we're waiting for their confirmation."

"Regarding the stadium's name, for now, it's still called the 'Karachi Stadium.' However, we are in the process of naming it, as well as a few other stadiums. We will go through the proper procedure for this later."

"The development and transformation of this stadium have been swift, and we plan to continue with the improvements. The fans will soon be able to enjoy the new facilities, and we are confident this venue will meet all the expectations for the upcoming Champions Trophy."

"Regarding the budget, we are still working to balance out the expenses. The goal is to recover the costs, and it will take some time. As for the workers who have contributed, they will also be acknowledged and invited for special events."

He’s done a great job, and while people hate him due to political differences but as a PCB chairman, he’s performed much better than Ramiz, Zaka, or Sethi ever did.

This guy is another useless person just like Zaka.
While he might be effective as an administrator he keeps appointing loonies during every surgery of him. That's hurting Pak cricket more.

If he wants to stay then he needs a CEO under him for the technical decisions.

The CT, Stadiums renovation is one benchmark to assess Mohsin Naqvi, the other benchmark will be how successfull will the PSL 10 season turn out, the broadcast rights for the next PSL cycle and the amount PCB can fetch for the two new teams, if he excells in all these things, you can stake the claim he's been the best chairman we have had for a long time even if you exclude the team's performances.

As per media reports:

PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has declined a $400,000 VIP hospitality box for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 matches in Dubai, choosing instead to watch the games alongside regular fans.

The UAE Cricket Board had reserved a 30-seat luxury box for Naqvi, but he opted to sell the premium seating and experience the excitement from the general stands.

More drama, this guy is all photoshoots and all drama. The stadium for which his cheerleaders had made every thread unbearable was also leaking rain water into the building yesterday. Maybe an indoor rainfall was this genuis's idea who knows

news comes around as Saqlain gonna be head coach with his damaad Shadab to become captain..

PCB circus continues, never disappoints you...

These young and budding cricketers will be sent to NZL (which is quite difficult even for the experienced folks to score runs there and bowlers to control line/length and swing) is a recipe to replace these young players with the so called rested seniors for the WI series...

Thats quite standard on new builds, common occurrence at first rain fall; all these would have ironed out if they had more time to test the building before opening to public.
