Not a real photo but I thought was quite funny and memorable in a way :-)

Picture was taken seconds after Ireland managed to defend 105 and qualify for the U19 WC, winning by five runs after Scotland were 90 for 5. Sport aint all about winning, also about playing hard and fair and for that reason I like this one a lot, credit to cricketeurope for the picture

Very touching and defo part of spirit of cricket aspect

Okay, Some of my favorute pictures are already done and because we haven't played a lot of cricket, we haven't had too many moments this year. Counting down from the my least favorite to the most favorite. (They are six because an over consists of six balls)

Number 6:

Okay, this is about Pakistan Super League. After years and years of problems, we have something that can actually go on and be something. I am not sure if this happened in this edition or not, but this was to me a brilliant moment. Elliot's bat drop is also there because it was absolutely unique but this sorta captaincy and camaraderie was beautiful to see. Sammy may play all other leagues and what not, but this made him every bit a part of PSL as he'll ever be of any franchise (I know there is no loyalty and money is all that matters but still)

This made me believe that the PSL is here to stay and will manage to survive even if it played in foreign grounds and in front of a passionate few.

Number 5:

Thing is, the match started with very much in India's control. Ok, I get it that Bumrah wasn't really bowling to get a wicket but he had initially done the damage - like here we thought we had Fakhar who would go out and blast the bowling like he did in the last three matches and India had him totally stifled and wafting at thin year. When he edged it, I was like, lo ji, same script as ever, gaya match hath say, phir hona hai ro ro kar in say 200 aur India nay 7 wickets say jeet jana. And then bam.

So this is in a way amazing memory. Also Jaipur trolling Bumrah was funny but then it's a sensitive issue so I won't put it here. Also I've immense respect for Bumrah the bowler - genuinely think that the parosis have solved one half of their fast bowling problems as long as he is fit.

Number 4:

This moment may be down to Pakistan's favorite Sir Lankan to ever exist but this was just incredible. Almost a captain coming of age and the release of all that emotion. I don't think our win was a fluke, also we dropped two crucial catches when Sir Lanka was batting and had we caught them we would be chasing 200 and not 230 something that we did but all in all, this was beautiful to witness live.

And Sarfaraz's comment after that - going all "oh" - that was just amazing.

Number 3 and Number 2:

This. This. This freaking test match. Losing the second test was a blow but things were going our way until everything started going against us. Caught of a no-ball, absolutely dead slow track, umpire not giving possible a clear cut edge and that too after a referral. At this point, I was following the web commentary with one eye closed. Trying to get work done in another tab and only peeking in and seeing dot balls. Then came the moment when a single was rejected. Then came the out verdict which was reversed. So much emotion. I literally had a belief on this ball that something would happen and then boom.

It may be a low key opposition and victory against the Windies in 88' would have felt sweeter but I wasn't there to witness it then so this frankly is one of the highlights of my cricket watching experience. Call it whatever but we have finally a series win there and no one can take this away from us.

Number 1:

There were some great contenders, Amir to Kohli, the passionate appeal of Shadab and reversal of the decision on referral but in terms of absolutely gun moments, this celebration of Hasan has no match. We were number 9 and falling and there was a board inquiry planned after the loss against India. In comes Parnell, probably a number too high but we have created heroes for nations in such situations. And a lot of people who never actually do anything ever in their career play the innings of their lifetime, or spell of their lifetime against us so there was palpable anxiety and nervousness.

And then boom. That ball honestly that ball. Snaking from a difficult angle and then straightening to flatten the off stump. The roar, the belief that we can do it and this leap from Hasan.

In one leap Pakistan cricket went from the depths of Marina trench to the heights of Mt. Everest. It was truly one small jump for Hasan, but one giant leap for our team and we went from number 9 to number 6 leapfrogging our rivals and automatically qualifying for the world cup.

T'is was beautiful and definitely my moment of the year.
