Could they not have gone up North like before the last ENG tour ? Should look to resemble English conditions.

They are departing on Monday. Plenty of time to get used to conditions

All the team member looks in a good shape mickey hard work is developing new culture which is great for pakistan

Sarfaraz quite clearly in the worst shape.

I am not sure how much Grant Flower really adds to this set up.

Considering the lack of forward press it can be none other than Babar... Good thing the ball trajectory is towards his body otherwise Babar would be practicing his favorite shot, the edge to first slip.

That’s an Ihsan kit (whom Shady is sponsored by) and Babar is sponsored by HS, I believe. Some people just find ever excuse they can to hate on certain players.

How do you not know? :)

I didn't claim he is bowling with a woobly seem or a cross seem or up right from one still photo.

You seemed to be impressed with one still photo that's taken at a moment when the seem was upright in it's flight.

Neither did I. I just said it was a lovely seam position. Take it as you wish :19:

Other two pictures also shows lovely seem position, particularly the first one. Seem position is Fahim's improvement area, Yamin actually has a better grip hence he gets the new ball moving more.

By the way, who are the 2 guys with Grant in last picture of previous photo series?

Wow Sarfraz saying in his presser they may not even play a spinner and select four fast bowlers with Haris, Azhar and Shafiq as the part timers.

Good or bad?

You guys keep telling us that pitches in early summer are greener than grass

It's not the pitches but conditions. Early summer tends to be cool and cloudy. Pitches tend to be the same.

I'm expecting Lords to be flat and Headingly to be a seamers paradise. I would play Shadab in Lords and Faheem in Leeds.

It's not so much the pitches but the overhead conditions that help seam and swing.

The pitches at Lord's and Headingley tend to be dry. Heck, Lord's is almost like an Asian pitch nowadays with little pace so I'd play a spinner there.

But in Ireland and for the Headingley Test it may be worth going with an all pace attack.

Headingley's flattened out these days. It used to be a real green mamba, but West Indies chased down 320 last summer, and I'll always remember Younis and Yousuf racking up a mammoth partnership in 2006.

If what you are saying is true then we will absolutely demolish England.

The key is to bowl first.

The English pitches have become flat after the drainage systems have changed, completely taking out the natural variations out of the pitch. Such as the slope at Lord’s, part of the reason why McGrath took 5-fer’s there for fun.

However, the pitches have a lot of swing/seam present on the first 2 days. Almost NZ like pitches they become over the course of 5 days, which is why 4th innings chases are a lot easier.

Hence, why WI chased 300+ at Headingley last year.

Bro, I wouldn’t count on our batsmen to chase anything above 200.

Pakistan Test squad to leave for England tonight.

Pakistan cricket team departs for England-Ireland tour

A bus carrying the Pakistan cricket team pictured on its way to the Lahore airport from where the squad departed for England via an international flight. Pakistan cricket team on Monday left for the England/Ireland tour, where they will play a Test against Ireland, two Tests against England and two T20 internationals against Scotland.According to sources, fast bowler Mohammad Amir could not accompany the team as he was unable to get the visa for England. The bowler is expected to fly to England by Wednesday, sources added.

Pakistan will kick off the tour with a match against Kent on April 28, followed by a second tour match against Northamptonshire on May 4.The team will then take on Ireland, who will be playing their first ever Test on May 11 before taking on England in two Test matches on May 24 and June 1.This will be followed by two T20 internationals against Scotland on May 12 and 13.

Prior to leaving for the tour, Pakistan’s 16-member squad took part in a training camp at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.Speaking on the last day of the camp, captain Sarfraz Ahmed weighed in on the Fawad Alam debate which has consumed Pakistan cricket, since his exclusion from the upcoming tour of Ireland and England.“This is completely untrue that Fawad was not picked up on the bases of techniques, management issue or any other fault in him.”“Fawad has not played a Test since 2009 but he was called to the camp as one of the probable players who could’ve been selected for the upcoming tour. Just because he was called it does not mean it was a done deal that he would be picked for the team. Since Usman Salahuddin and Saad Ali performed better, hence they were picked,” he explained.Sarfraz also added that he was looking forward to their encounter against Ireland and had high hopes from his young team.

In early spring, there is more moisture on the wicket, and it stays for long period of time, because of low temperature and little sun, ball seams more than later in the summer...

I would play 5 bowlers, both Shadab and Fahim, but Pakistan will play only four, which can be costly, specially in lords :(
