The most important holiday/ festival of the year and the boys are stuck in a biosecure bubble away from family and friends in one of the worst affected countries in the world.
And then you have the England squad being allowed to have a break because things are so tough for them. The double standards in this series have been ridiculous.
I have never wanted England to get hammered as badly as I do this time, however unlikely that might be.

The mindset of 'if we can't see our families safely then they shouldn't be allowed to see their family safely' is pretty childish.
If the pandemic hadn't happened and the tour had gone ahead completely normal as originally planned the Pakistan players wouldn't have been able to do much with their family and friends on Eid (quite probably wouldn't have seen them at all) and the England players would still have been able to see their family between the test matches. In reality it's not much different.
Its the principle.
If Pak players are not allowed to leave the bubble to visit mosques/familiar eating places in England, hosts should also not be allowed.
Family part I agree with as they dont have families here. But even a visit to a local restaurant would have been nice.
I think it's safe to assume the England players aren't allowed to visit their places of worship or restaurants either and are essentially confined to home. From the sounds of things even county cricketers won't be allowed to visit pubs/restaurants during their competitions and there's no bubble system there.
Would the Pakistan players have spent the night at a restaurant and having a bit of a party had none of this happened and we were in the middle of the Lord's test match right now? I doubt it, if anything they're probably doing more under the new circumstances than they would have otherwise.
Do English players have some special air they breathe that they will magically not breathe when on way home? Are they simply going home into an empty house/flat which is not visited by anyone - will they live in a vaccum?
Pakistan cricketers could have easily been escorted to one of many eating places in Manchester for Eid after that establishment fumigated etc
Would have been a great gesture.
You're not seriously suggesting the travel aspect i.e driving home alone in their own car carries any kind of significant risk? Yes there's clearly some risk of exposure whilst living with their family/household but that can be minimised by not allowing them to visit public establishments. The point of releasing the players isn't so that they can go to a restaurant, it's so they can see their family in what would otherwise for quite a few of them have been a notably longer period than the Pakistani squad (and will quite probably be followed shortly after by a winter packed with foreign travel).
What's the point in clearing out a restaurant for the players to eat in? Assuming it's the same setup as the West Indies they've already been assigned their own chef who specialises in their cuisines.

Are the families tested for COVID? are they in a bio-secure bubble? Who will guarantee that the family members are not infected/asymptomatic?
The point of clearing out a restaurant is for players to experience some sort of normalcy.

So Eng players' families havent left the home or went anywhere in last two weeks as well in anticipation of them coming home?
If no then how come its a completely safe environment for Eng players as Godforbid even one of their family members has Covid-19 from going out then they can also contract that which can further be transmitted to both the teams.
Unless the answer to first question which I have raised is yes, which is highly unlikely its a big gamble that ECB has taken here and there are no two ways about it.
No, but all the players will be tested multiple times before being allowed to re-enter the bubble. Just like the Pakistani players who didn't make the initial flight over.
If that’s all it takes why can’t the players do whatever they want and then in the lead up to the game, just take a couple of tests.

Its truly saddening when some cannot understand the idea of the bio-secure bubble.
Take this for example from a respected India media site who try to put a negative on this but stupidly add the right explanation in there!

Pakistan's national cricket team in England celebrated Eid al-Adha, also called the festival of sacrifice, on Friday and photos of the gathering were shared by the PCB. (More Cricket News)
But none of the players or staff were seen wearing masks or maintaining distance as seen in the photos. Probably, the touring party was given exemption as they are in a biosecure 'bubble' environment and they all have tested negative for COVID-19.
Quality of Indian media is generally pretty poor I think (Most neutral Indians will also agree) and when they talk about Pakistan emotions further deteriorate the already low quality journalism.
Let’s add to this that the ECB booked them a travelodge hotel, they are making a few hundred million from the Pakistan team touring and the best they can manage is a travelodge I don’t know about you guys I have stayed in a travelodge, it’s very very basic. Surely for the duration we was staying the ECB could have spent a little more
