And then their apology!

The PCB apologies for this post and accepts the timing of it was wrong. This was a pre-planned post as part of the one-year to go #T20WorldCup promotional campaign. The timing of this post clashed with the captaincy announcement for which the PCB offers its regrets.

Fakhar might also be getting the chop if he isn’t careful

Very unprofessional from Wasim Khan. Regardless how bad is the captain sack him in proper way rather than humiliate.

Wasim Khan doesnt personally tweet from PCB twitter - obviously someone in the media department.

Icing on the cake as far as sarfaraz's removal goes.

Nice farewell for him.

Pretty poor stuff.

Sarfraz's form has been questionable in all the formats he has been playing. The most concerning was his test match form where he barely stepped up to the plate despite getting multitude of opportunities to do so. Once he was ousted from test matches and with Rizwan in good form in the background it was high time that PCB looked for a younger and better option. Saifi did not look the part as a captain and it was clear from the recent series that it looked like he lost the dressing room.

With that being said how him and Mickey turned around the form of our team in limited overs cricket is a stark contrast to the lethargic days of Misbah and Shahid Afridi as captain. It was refreshing to see how well our team played in the world cup 2019 and in t20s overall. What was it? 11 bilateral series in t20s without a loss. As opposed to our test form which got even worse as Saifi became captain. Lost a home series to Srilanka and Newzealand and barely won against Australia in the UAE. White washed by South Africa in their home and a 1-1 draw against England.
I'm not sure Azhar Ali merited a captain but it was high time a change was needed in test matches.

Brilliant stuff from PCB :)))

They shouldn't have apologized because Sarfaraz isn't deserving of one but nonetheless I will take this.

Never a good thing to not thank our players for their services - mistake by PCB and fairplay to them they accepted

Shameful way to treat a guy who won you an ICC 50 over trophy after 25 years.

This! Very, very poor from the PCB. Unprofessional-ism of the highest order, too. Sarfaraz´s form was poor and he has had to pay for it, fair enough, but to tweet about him like this was disgraceful. We shouldn´t forget that it was under him that Pakistan won one of its only three ICC tournaments. Utter lack of respect and ingratitude on display here.

I doubt this was on purpose but either way I don't care. Sarfraz really soured as a captain, his on field behaviour was terrible and he didn't even care enough to try and improve his game, which fell into terminal decline for almost 2 years. Unacceptable.
