Another one from their Player development programe.
Has a short and lazy run up like dilbar hussain but generates a lot of pace. Has a variety of slower balls and i reckon his quicker bowl is close to 90 mph.
Watch out for him this PSL.

The zip he gets of the pitch is incredible.
If he can increase his run up a lil he would be even better.
The other kid zahid while erratic was bowling 90 mph.
Qalandars is a gem of a franchise.

How old is Ahmad Daniyal? Looks like LQ would have a stellar attack if they can play him as the 4th seamer in the emerging category.

Shaheen
Rauf
Dilbar
Rashid khan
Ahmad Daniyal

Not bad at all.

Their is definitely something about him. He has a great deceptive slower ball which dips at the batsman, plus his full pace ball zips of the pitch. He definitely looks 140 kph plus to me.

I think he is 23.
Yes they are undercooked and raw but Lahore has more 90 mph bowlers in their Player development programe than most international teams.

Daniyal bowling well in the t10s at the moment looks a good prospect. They had another debutant zahid today was a bit wayward but has all the skills if applied correctly to look like a decent player also.

Zahid is close to 150 kph. Was clocked at 148 kph in the talent hunt conducted by Imran a few years ago.
He is a tape ball legend, but has no bowling IQ.
Danyal has better IQ, but lesser pace than Zahid.
If only these guys coming through also had runups.

Zahid was bowling very quick today however Boom Boom Afridi looked to be getting a little angry with him at one point setting one field and then bowling some rubbish where he had no cover. Can see what you mean in regards to the lack of IQ , Daniyal does look a bit more astute compared to Zahid , looks like he has the minerals to represent Pakistan in t20s going forward.

Both bowlers need the right attention and coaching, and hopefully they can be nurtured into the next generation of pacers coming through at international level.

Any idea how old is Zahid? Not sure how he hasnt been around in domestic cricket (Would have have gotten noticed in the trials) in an effort to maybe develop him.

Things are shaping up nicely for LQ. They hedged their bets on the long term viability of their team and it’s heartening to see it paying off. They now have a very strong core of local players which bodes well for them.

26 years old, but dumber than a wallnut.
Dont get your hopes from him.
It is a travesty that all the naturally talented cricketers we produce have nothing upstairs.

They have been under Aqib's wing for a couple of years now. They were discovered in the same talent hunt that found Rauf.
Dont see any future for Zahid. Ahmed can definitely make some headway, but he needs a run up for God's sake.

Hit around today against PZ.

41 off 4 overs.

I think he's trying to be too smart, trying too many different things.

His slower ball can be seen a mile away.

That was a top spinner action

Decent figures from Daniyal today. 1/29 in his 4 overs, claiming the wicket of Azam Khan

Ahmed Daniyal – Lahore Qalandars: “The Lahore Qalandars management reposed their trust and confidence in me which has made my introduction to the HBL Pakistan Super League a memorable one. T20 is a tough format for any bowler but if you have belief in your skills and can make your execution correct you have good chances of success.

Nothing more than a net bowler, unfortunately. The thing with slower ones is that sooner or later it gets found out. The same happened with the Fizz.

Expecting good things from him in this tournament - has looked decent so far in his first over (apart from one slower ball that went bad)

Impressive from him - like his confidence.

Bowls at a nice pace and right length for the batsman to smash him around, just as Shoaib Malik has shown.

Not a lot of variety either.

Plenty of work to do on his bowling.

Do LQ have a clause where they have to play this guy.

Hes a limited bowler. He needs to bw more like rumman raees to succeed

Lahore continuing to play him - Guess no one better in that category?

Smashed again for 34 from 3 overs today versus KK.

Economy rate of 9.56 in PSL, 5 wickets and 306 runs conceded.

Struggled today 1/34 in 3 overs vs Karachi - is he that good?

Kind of feel bad for him, he had Babar Azam out twice today but the fielders refused to catch anything. Getting Babar out would have been great for his confidence.

Certainly was unlucky but i think the seniors are to blame for today. Lack of intent from both Hafeez and Fakhar had both them been there for a few overs they would've won. Sohail Akhtar another guy i love to watch but still someone who's place in the team is questionable.

Think he will continue to be ok in leagues - Cannot see him representing Pakistan, ever.

He bowled decently yesterday. He was sharp most of his balls were 145ks and some even in excess of 145ks.He definitely needs to use his bowling brain more.

The Melbourne Stars have secured the signing of Pakistan fast bowler, Ahmad Daniyal.

The 24-year-old burst onto the scene in the Abu Dhabi T10 this year after progressing through the development program at Lahore Qalanders.

The right arm quick then went on to make his debut in the Pakistan Super League.

He continues a rich line of talent for the Qalanders who have also produced Stars players Haris Rauf, who recently committed to the Stars for BBL|11 and spinner Syed Faridoun, who made his Stars debut against the Sixers on Sunday night.

Daniyal arrived in Australia on Monday and will join the Stars after completing his mandatory 72 hour quarantine period.

Melbourne Stars General Manager Blair Crouch was thrilled to add another talented bowler to the squad.

"It's been a huge week of international signings at the Stars and we are looking forward to welcoming Ahmed Daniyal into the family. To have Andre Russell, Haris Rauf and Ahmed Daniyal commit to the club for BBL|11 is a massive boost for the squad and for all of our fans, who we can't wait to see back at the MCG this summer to cheer on these world class players."

Upcoming fixtures:

Friday 10th December
Melbourne Stars vs Sydney Thunder
MCG, 7.15pm AEDT
Broadcast live on Seven, Foxtel and Kayo

Oh for goodness sake, why are Melbourne stars wasting their time and money with these players? I understand that they have probably signed a deal with Qalandars where they have to sign one of these development players, but they are having too many expectations after Haris Rauf's good season

Lahore Qalandars delighted to announce the signing of fast bowler Ahmed Danyal with Melbourne Stars for the ongoing Big Bash League season. Daniyal already reached Australia and presently going through his 72 hours mandatory quarantine period before joining the Stars.

Danyal, 24, is the fourth player to have successfully graduated from the Qalandars High performance centre and making it to the foreign land to express his skills. Last week, Stars played left-arm wrist spinner Syed Faridoun another player from the production line of Qalandars high performance centre in Lahore.

Haris Rauf is also in line to return back for Stars after fulfilling his national duty with Pakistan at home in a white-ball series against West Indies, starting from December 13 in Karachi.

A tape-ball cricketers playing largely on streets, started as a net-bowler in Lahore Qalandars PSL preparatory camps where he used to bowl at the international stars. His ability to bowl with consistent pace drew Aqib Javed attention. He underwent a lengthy developmental process and was drafted in the Qalandars T10 squad for Abu Dhabi T10.

He shot in prominence only last year when he was picked up by Qalandars in emerging category in PSL draft and went onto play the entire PSL season. He is among the front line player Qalandars have recently developed and unleashed them into completive cricket.

“Danyal signing with Stars vindicated that Qalandars' efforts in developing players are in right direction,” Sameen Rana, CEO Lahore Qalandars said. “Our message for players is to dream, show your talent and we will provide you the opportunity to grow big. He[Danyal] worked hard for it and his persistence paying him back. He can bowl fast, he can bat with authority and is a complete package. I wish him a very best with this stint in Big Bash. I once again thank Melbourne Stars for showing faith on Qalandars’ production line. We will continue to produce players and give them the opportunity to grow in cricket.”

Melbourne Stars CEO Nick Cummins is excited to welcome another talent from Qalandars: “Ahmed Danial is the latest prospect to join the Stars as part of our Qalandars partnership. He’ll give us depth in our fast bowling stocks across the season and we can’t wait to see him showcase his skills.”

Ahmed Daniyal's move to Melbourne Stars seems more like a him warming the bench and/or spot for Haris Rauf. Interesting move I must say, hopefully its fruitful for Daniyal.

why do everyone think they are cricketing geniuses and people running league, and professional league teams in BBL dont know nothing ....

must have seen something in A-Daniyal... good lcuk to him

He is a batting allrounder who can bowl 135 kph, he needs to prove his worth by some match winning performances otherwise he will be discarded very quick.

Playing today in the Melbourne derby versus Melbourne Renegades

Playing his first game today for Melbourne Stars

Seems like he is quite popular on the Instagram app with his model-like shoots.

Played 2 games and that's it - what was the point and why so much fanfare?

First time I've seen him bowl live today.

Failed to execute at the death and unfortunately his over singlehandedly won it for Sindh in the SF.

Awful bowler, serves up pies in each over and has no control of line and length. Don't know where Dilbar Hussain went but he was by far the better product of the Qalandar's PDP system

He bowled well earlier in the tournament, generated good pace which is an asset. Hope he improves further in the coming season.

That 4th wicket was the best, good tail in and beat the defence of the batsman

Can notice a bit improvement in his line and length, Ahmed Daniyal for Lions in Champions One-Day Cup 2024 took 3 wickets off 47 runs in 9 overs against Panthers.

Can’t trust these LQ scouts after the damage they did to Pakistan cricket by unearthing Haris Rauf.

A sensational knock under pressure! Ahmed Daniyal brings up his maiden List-A fifty, steering his team from 140/7 to a competitive total against Stallions in Eliminator 1 of the Champions One-Day Cup 2024

Ahmed Daniyal played a splendid knock of 65 (59) when no other batter could hold their ground against the Stallions.

on his brilliant all round performance (65* & 3/59) in Eliminator 1, Ahmed Daniyal awarded Man of the match
