Hey everyone,
So I came across this interesting article from Dawn (July 2023) that really got me thinking — what exactly is going on behind the scenes at Lahore Qalandars?
For those who don’t know, Fawad Rana — the passionate face of the franchise and arguably one of the most loved figures in PSL — filed a petition in the Lahore High Court claiming that
his shares in the Qalandars’ parent company were transferred without his consent. According to him, he was completely sidelined and excluded from the company's affairs. His legal team says there was
no proper transfer deed, no legal process, and yet the ownership was moved.
What’s wild is that the court actually
stopped the share transfer and summoned responses from the involved parties, including his
own brothers who seem to be on the other side of this.
This raises so many questions:
- Why would Fawad’s own brothers allegedly push him out of the franchise he helped build?
- How could such a huge internal shift happen without due process?
- Is this a case of family business gone wrong or something deeper within the management of Lahore Qalandars?
- What does this mean for the future of the team — especially after all the goodwill Fawad built with fans?
Honestly, it's disappointing if true. Fawad Rana wasn’t just an investor — he
was the Qalandars for many fans. His energy, passion, and belief in young Pakistani talent brought a unique flavor to the PSL.
Would love to hear your thoughts. Does anyone have more inside info or theories on why this happened?
