Pakistan fast-bowler Hasan Ali is all set to marry Shamia Arzoo, an Indian girl. Shamia belongs to Mewat district of Haryana. Hasan Ali, however, won’t be the first Pakistan cricketer to marry an Indian. Senior cricketer Shoaib Malik is married to Indian tennis star Sania Mirza while former Pakistan cricketers Zaheer Abbas and Mohsin Hasan Khan’s wives are also from India.

Hasan Ali, reportedly, is all set to tie the knot on August 20. As per some reports, the duo will marry in Dubai at the Atlantis Palm Hotel. Amar Ujala while quoting Shamia’s father Liaquat Ali reported that the ten family members will leave for the UAE on August 17. These include son Akbar Ali, wife Rahisha, son-in-law Altaf Hussain, daughters Bilkis and Mumtaz and other members of the family.

Shamia’s father is a former Block Development and Panchayat Officer (BPDO). Shamia has a B.Tech degree in Aeronautical Engineering from Manav Rachna University. She is a former employee of Jet Airways and is currently working as a flight engineer in Emirates Airlines.

Hasan Ali was part of the Pakistan cricket team in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019. However, after some poor performances in the initial matches, he was dropped from the playing XI. Hasan Ali has played 9 Tests, 53 ODIs and 30 T20Is for Pakistan thus far. He was instrumental in Pakistan’s ICC Champions Trophy triumph in 2017 in England.

Interesting, if she was a cabin crew at EK, it could be guessed how they met. But she is a flight engineer....

Cricketer Hasan Ali all set to tie the knot in Dubai

Hasan Ali is all set to get hitched.

According to our reporter, the cricketer will tie the knot in August to Shamia Arzoo, a Haryana-based woman.

Arzoo has a degree in Aeronautics from Manav Rachna University and is presently working as a flight engineer in Emirates Airlines.

The duo has been seeing each other for more than a year before the cricketer initiated talks about marriage and it seems like both the families are happy with their union.

The marriage is set to take place on 20 August at the Atlantis Palm Hotel, Dubai.

He should carry her over the border at Wagah then do the famous celebration to mark the wedding.

It’s his prerogative to marry whomsoever he wishes, but I can’t say I approve of this.

I won’t be attending any of the receptions.

Good for you. Should either Hasan or Shamia decide to lay on a free flight for me to attend this auspicious occasion, I too shall politely decline.

That’s the spirit. Our disapproval must be registered, and since this is a Pakistani cricket forum, I’m confident Hasan will come across it when he conducts his periodic search of his name here.

Go for it. I am always a massive fan of love marriages, those who find love are very lucky and save themselves a lot of hardship going forward

Pakistan’s Hasan Ali confirms marriage to Indian girl

Pakistan fast bowler Hasan Ali confirmed that he is going to marry an Indian girl named Samia on August 20 at Dubai.

Speaking to the reporters at a press conference on Friday, the speedster shared the details about his wedding. “The nikkah will take place on August 20 in Dubai, while rukhsati or valima will take place two to three months later in Pakistan,” Hasan said.

The fast bowler informed that his family members alongside fellow teammate and buddy Shadab Khan would attend the nikkah. “My family and my very close friends will attend the wedding reception. Most of the cricketers are busy but Shadab Khan will come”.

Hasan is not the first Pakistani player to marry an Indian. Veteran batsman Shoaib Malik is also married to Indian tennis star Sania Mirza. The duo tie the knot on April 12, 2010. Furthermore, former Pakistan cricketer’s Zaheer Abbas and Mohsin Hasan Khan also have Indian wives.

All the best to Hasan Ali. Marriage is always better than playing around with random women.

Good for him. Should concentrate on building a family since he's clearly lost it in cricket.

Why the big announcement? No other Cricketer woould do anything like this so why do ours make a song and dance about it. She seems well over qualified for him.

Shes an aeronautical engineer and hes a paindu who does bhangra at the border.

Match made in heaven.

Poor girl.

I wonder what she saw in him. The intellectual mismatch is too big a bridge to cross. Poor girl.

People judging other couple.

The same judges will be giving lecture on how to respect others.

Amazing.

At this alleged wedding rumor is true about Hasan Ali, then it’s a highly negatively impactful and impractical decision on his part. WHY SO? This is due to two main reasons:
The first being if one is a Pakistani citizen, you have to surrender your allegiance to Pakistan (which would be very difficult since he is a Pakistani cricketer) if you ever want to visit India with your future Indian spouse. The Indian government has implemented this complex, insidious law which has resulted in a great deal of animosity against Modi’s government even by Indians who were born in Pakistan due to their parents being posted there.

The second reason is there are no direct flights between Pakistan and India which again the Modi government has implemented since coming into power, and has caused undue problems especially for elderly people trying to visit between the two countries. IMO, Pakistani cricketers should be wiser in such affairs of the heart, and if they have to marry non-Pakistanis they should marry non-Indians due to these extremely difficult and yes one can even say insulting road blocks for Pakistanis needing to visit India .

I wonder what she saw in him. The intellectual mismatch is too big a bridge to cross. Poor girl.

Pro Athletes can marry any girl, they're athletic and have a lot of money. You're acting like he isn't rich and is more athletic than the average joe.

Match made in heaven.

Poor girl.

He's a jock - a professional cricket player that also makes a lot of money, obviously wealthier than her.

She's from small town in india so I don't see how he's a "paindu" compared to her.

I wonder what she saw in him. The intellectual mismatch is too big a bridge to cross. Poor girl.

Very presumptuous and arrogant statement. Fear Allah for he hates such a mindset. When the Prophet (saw) married Hazrat Khadija (AS) people said why is she marrying a poor orphan, believing it to be a mismatch. What these presumptuous and arrogant people did not know was that this union was destined to become the most blessed and significant union in the history of mankind.

akistani pace bowler Hasan Ali says he will invite cricketers from India to his wedding with Indian national Samia Arzoo to be held in Dubai on September 20.

Ali did not specify which Indian cricketers would be on the list of invitees but said he would be happy if they turn up.

“I will invite the Indian cricket team and players to come to my marriage ceremony, after all, we are all cricket mates,” Hasan told Urdu Express.

“I would love it if some Indian players come to the ceremony in Dubai, it would be lovely. The contest is on the field and not off it. In the end, we are all professional cricketers and must share happiness,” he said.

Samia holds a degree in Aeronautics from an Indian university and is a flight engineer with the Emirates airlines. She is based in Dubai while her family members are settled in New Delhi.

Hassan Ali seems an uneducated person from village (not to mean it in a bad way). Surprised that a girl with aeronautical engineering is getting married to him.

Can it be a ploy from Raw or our Pakistani Shaheen bachi phansanay k experts hain

Pakistan medium pacer Hasan Ali asked for one week’s leave from Pakistan cricket board (PCB) for his wedding which is going to be held on August 20 in Dubai.

The 25-year-old has submitted an application to join pre-season camp on August 27, his fitness test will also be taken later.

The board announced to conduct the fitness test of 20 players for pre-season camp on August 20 and 21 in which fourteen centrally contracted and six additional men cricketers have been invited.

Players are instructed to report to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Lahore on August 19.

Earlier, the speedster ended all speculations regarding his marriage by declaring that he is getting married the Indian girl named Shamia Arzoo, who is a flight engineer in Emirates Airlines.

Hasan is the fourth Pakistani cricketer to get hitched with an Indian girl, after Zaheer Abbas, Mohsin Khan and Shoaib Malik.

Pakistan fast bowler Hasan Ali has requested the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to grant him leave as the cricketer’s marriage nears.

As per media reports, Hasan has informed the board that he would not be able to give the fitness test to be held on 19th and 20th August, but will soon join the training camp after his nikkah. Earlier, the speedster had shared the details about his wedding and announced that the nikkah will take place on August 20 in Dubai, while other ceremonies would take place two to three months later in Pakistan.

Hasan Ali, who is set to marry an Indian girl named Samia, just like teammate Shoaib Malik who married Indian tennis star Sania Miza, has stated that his family members alongside fellow teammate and buddy Shadab Khan would attend the ceremony.

Meanwhile, Pakistan former captain Misbah ul Haq would lead the PCB’s 17-day conditioning camp, which will commence in Lahore on 19 August at the National Cricket Academy (NCA), as Pakistan prepares for the upcoming gruelling Test season.

Some twenty players including fourteen centrally contracted players that include Hasan Ali and six additional men cricketers have been invited to attend a pre-season camp. The players will undergo fielding drills and net sessions, along with fitness and other cricketing activities at the camp.

I hope Hasan and the gang have a good explanation for wearing those shoes

What's the significance of Orange by his pals? They all seem to wear the same. Congrats and best wishes to the couple.

I know where your mind is going (and I'm not surprised) but there is no significance to the orange (you read it as saffron). Often in Pakistani weddings (mostly on the mehndi event) the male family members will all wear the same thing and often it is a bright, playful color like orange, red, pink, purple etc, while the groom will wear a contrasting color to stand out.

Thanks for the info anyway. No I didn't mean saffron. I was thinking if you have a tradition of bridesgrooms like we do. I've been to Muslim weddings before in US and didn't notice this.

A lot of Muslim Pakistanis are shunning old Hindu traditions in weddings. I know many who dont do Mendi or other traditions any longer.

Congrats to Hasan Ali and his wife.

Didn't think Mehndi was hindu or Muslim. Thought it's based on geography. Usually in the north

Congrats to Hasan Ali and his wife.

I haven't got this impression at all speaking specifically about mehndi celebrations not sure about other customs.

Maybe its British pakistanis that are shunning, as they attend mosques in england that enforce religion over culture. I have heard this from many western based pakistanis that they follow the religion not culture.

Not all of them though, even in the west some have lavish mehndi functions.

Possibly. My extended family in Pakistan still do this and many here in the UK too. But slowly many are shunning this. My brother got married and didn't want this as part of his wedding plans but instead a normal gathering. I think its the females who love the henna etc who want to keep these customs.

Imo it's pretty stupid and means nothing but I respect others on how they want their wedding to play out.

I've been to Pakistani weddings in America and Pakistan where they didn't have a mehndi.

I don't think it has any cultural significance because I've been to weddings from the grooms side where all "color coordinated" as in, we all wore the same colors - it could be any color, we wore black.

It's true. Especially those in western countries that go to Arab mosques that may be influenced by Wahabi teachings, or even those in pakistan that belong to conservative areas.

There are pakistanis that do not play music at weddings.

Playing music is as unislamic if not more than having a henna function.

Not to mention having mixed genders in the same wedding hall, although this still happens in conservative areas of Pakistan. Not the majority though.

So not many pakistanis do a truly islamic weddings, therefore mehndi night isn't being abandoned by most pakistanis.

I know many who dont go to 'Arab' mosques but believe this isn't part of Islam. Things have changed in recent years. You can still cut out such traditions and also play music etc.

It's 50/50 these days. I think people are tying to keep costs down.

There's people that even have 2 mehndis lol.

Also mehndi functions can even be done at home. Especially in the west where there isn't 5 million people to invite like in pakistan. Been to a few that were in people's homes.

There are a lot of things that aren't part of islam so its hypocritical to say mehndis are unislamic but not call other things such as mixed gender gatherings, music, etc...

At the end if the days it's a personal choice.

I just don't see a reason to single out mehndi culture as unislamic if all of these other unislamic things are still practiced.

Music and gender mixing are debatable depending on your school of thought.

Mehndi is not Islamic, this is not up for debate but of course up to the couple if they want it.

What school of thought? The four madhabs are pretty clear about music being haram. Same with gender mixing.

Whereas mehndi functions as far as I know is not labeled haram unless there are haram practices happening at the function.

Anyways not trying to be a preacher as I am not that religious myself.

Music cannot be harm , this is just illogical. The issue of the type of music.

I never said Mehndi was haram but it's not from Islamic culture or Islam, this is obvious.

Dubai: The stage is all set for famous Pakistani cricketer Hassan Ali’s wedding with Indian girl Samiya Arzoo on Tuesday in Dubai.

The fast bowler is set to wed Dubai-based Indian expatriate Samiya Arzoo at Dubai’s Atlantis The Palm hotel today. Ali is the second Pakistani cricketer to marry an Indian girl. Pakistan's all-rounder Shoaib Malik had married Indian tennis star Sania Mirza on April 12, 2010.

Wedding celebrations have been going on for the last few days. Ali’s close friends, including Pakistan cricket team’s spin bowler Shaddab Khan and Ali’s best friend, have already reached Dubai to participate in the wedding ceremony.

The important event called ‘Mehndi’ – a gathering of singing and henna a day before the wedding — was held on Monday in Dubai. A simple nikkah ceremony was also held here on Monday. Nikkah is formal marriage contract signed by both the bride and the groom according to Sharia law.

Hassan Ali went around the city with his bride Samiya Arzoo for a photo shoot which was published on social media. The couple was photographed at different locations including Jumeirah Board Walk, Atlantis, Burj Khalifa and Burj Al Arab.

Ali, clad in a green kurta, had his bachelor party with close friends who were all clad in matching orange kurtas. They also went around the city and the desert for a photoshoot. Da Artist Photo, a high profile Pakistani wedding photo studio also shared photos of the couple. “We’re here [in Dubai] to cover Hasan Ali’s Nikkah (wedding),” the photographers wrote on Instagram. They said that the photos was from the couple’s “pre-wedding shoot” in Dubai on Monday.

Who to attend the wedding
The Pakistani pacer will not be a part of the pre-season camp in the first week on account of his wedding.

According to sources in the Pakistan Cricket Board, most of the players on Pakistan's cricket team will not be attending the wedding due to conflicting training schedules. However, Hassan Ali will host a walima ceremony (a traditional banquet hosted by the groom after the wedding) in Pakistan after a month or so after his honeymoon.

While the bride Samiya Arzoo lives in Dubai, very little information is available about her and her family. It was reported earlier that she did not like cricket, which is bread and butter for Ali.

According to media reports, Samiya, who works for a private airline, hails from Haryana. She studied engineering in England and lives with her parents in Dubai, and has family members in New Delhi. Hassan first met Samiya through a close friend in Dubai, Geo News reported quoting family sources.

“She knows nothing about cricket and does not like it,” Ali told a television channel early this month. “Her first favourite cricketer is Hassan Ali.”

Hassan, who has played nine Tests and 53 ODIs, played an instrumental role in Pakistan’s 2017 Champions Trophy triumph.
