[PICTURES/VIDEOS] ] Is Hasan Nawaz the second coming of Inzamam-ul-Haq or Imam-ul-Haq?

Full credit to team management for sticking to him. Massive thanks to Aqib, he has done a lot of good to Pakistan cricket. Hassan Nawaz is truly a blessing!
 
Hassan certainly has the potential. If he keeps working hard at his game he can develop into a reliable middle-order batsman.

Haris cannot justify his place in the team if he keeps failing like this with bat. He might still surprise us (hoping against hope) and play a good knock against India in the Asia Cup. He is that kind of a flash in the pan hitter

You probably don’t even remember this, but right before the Champions Trophy I asked you on some forum who should slot into Pakistan’s top order if Saim and Fakhar were out due to injury. You said Hassan Nawaz. At the time, he was an unknown quantity.

I thought, ‘This guy has lost it.’ 😅 But wow… turns out you were spot on about him, weren’t you.

I’ll keep saying it without hesitation—consistency is impossible for anyone and I still don’t agree with everything you say, but if there’s one person who really gets white-ball cricket, and what the Pakistani style should look like, it’s you.

What an exciting cricketer this lad is. Makes you want to turn on the tv and watch Pakistan cricket.

Hasan Nawaz is playing first-class cricket in Pakistan. PCB sent him to play first-class cricket to improve his technique and learn the art of batting but they are making fun of it.

Playing a shot is not making fun of it. If it went for 6s, we found Crawley or Ducket.

India is perhaps the only country where batsmen can adapt their games to any situation or format, i.e. they can bat with discipline and consolidation during tough periods in T-20's, ODI's, they can play every ball on merit in test cricket and they can go beserk in the power plays and death overs. Pakistani batsmen in contrast can only hack regardless of the situation but cannot rotate strike and cannot bat according to the situation.

Forget Inzy, this comparison is even a slap in the face to Imam.

Hasan Nawaz should be nowhere near International level, even rubbish Talat was rightfully selected over him in Asia Cup.
 
I repeat he is unfairly being played at a batting position that doesn’t suit his game. He is arguably the best hitter in Pakistan at the moment.

Needs to bat in top 3.
 
Hassan is the future. However, he has done nothing of note with the bat since his freak hundred in New Zealand. Should be given a permanent role at #4.
 
Hassan Nawaz is Hassan Nawaz. You can't compare a new player to a legend like Inzi.

Hassan Nawaz has good techniques. I think he should be persisted with despite the bad form.
 
Steep learning curve for unfinished products like Hasan Nawaz. He may fall by wayside if he doesn't play longer formats. THere are guys like Mark Chapman, Tim David who are specialist short format players without much of first class behind them. This guy is not even close to their level.
 
What is Hasan Nawaz’s role in the shorter formats?

Is he an accumulator, stroke player or a power hitter? No clear role nor strategy behind his batting at the moment.

Needs to bat at 4 in T20 and 6 in ODI’s
 
He seems more like the second coming of Afridi without the bowling, plus with even more inconsistency.

Yes Mark Chapman and Tim David were setting the world alight in their first few games aswell.

You have to be an idiot to compare Hasan Nawaz with a really small sample size to players who have been around the international circuit for a long time.

Hasan has been mucked around and played out of position since the Bangladesh series, so before yapping about things you do not understand try to read up here on what the actual issue is.
 
started his career as opener in T20 and then reduced to number 7 in ODIs.

His career is being mismanaged.

Inconsistent implies you're actually decent sometimes, H. Nawaz has been rubbish the entire time he's been playing for Pakistan.

I think they are being harsh on him . Quetta played him at 4 it worked . He shouldn’t be playing lower than that .
 
hasan Nawaz has been playing out of number in t20s for sure. No way Salman Ali Agha comes ahead of him at number 4... In Odis, there is not much space, but sending him over Hussain Talat could have been an option.. But these young guys should cash in on every opportunity instead of crying early for numbers early on in their career. They should make their spot in the playing 11 and try to do as much as they can...

There was literally no need to do blind slogging and jumping out of the crease last night and he did exactly that and lost his wicket... He should have some game awareness as well.
 
His best place is an opener utilising the PP. PCB should rotate him with fakhar as 2nd option

If a guy cannot have a game-plan/awareness for covering 25 runs, how will he have a plan to cover 200 runs? Strange.

Exactly... it was not like 100 runs needed of 50 balls when Hasan came to bat... This guy could not even manage to score run a ball and played a pathetic senseless shot to get out and people are crying for number 4 bla bla...

That applies only for pedigree players. But somehow they use the same argument for every batsman including guys like Hasan Nawaz.

he has personal responsibility of course

but how did they bring him into the team as a T20 opener and now he is playing at number 7 in ODIs.

A set up has some responsbility too for the players development. When you pin someone at 7 it means you are pinning them as a slogger, so why the shock when he slogs?

This way we're giving too much credit to the player and treating them as babies. Any batsman coming in with 24 to win in 24 balls must be able to take the team over the line. Slogging the 3rd ball by dancing down the track cannot be justified in any way it's looked at.

What if Nawaz actually scored 20 off 15 in that position and remained not out and took the team over the line? Why is that difficult for him to do?

You are absolutely right - I see them as two seperate wrongs. The player should be criticised 100% as he can make the most of his opportunity but failed to, but I think its a wrong move to have him in at seven so the coach deserves seperate criticism too. I'm not trying to absolve Nawaz of his failings.
 
If Saim can get countless chances then he should also , clearly he is talented and our domestic cricket is never famous for producing ready made batters , he will learn on the job in couple of years so patient with him.
 
Right-handed batter Hasan Nawaz has been released from the Pakistan men’s squad for the upcoming three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka and the T20I tri-nation series featuring Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe.

Left-handed batter Fakhar Zaman will replace Hasan in the T20I squad, while no player will be added to the ODI squad as Hasan’s replacement.
 
A meaningless triseries upon us, give Hassan Nawaz some games as opener, let him open with Saim.

They had to release a statement like they committed a grave crime in giving this free-flowing, technically incorrect youngster a single game, even better, that he now will be subjected to the humiliation of having to play in the premier first class cricket league; because only the Nawaz’s of the nation should play there.
 
Nawaz’s crime= being a part of a set up for 6-7 months putting team first. Not complaining once about being shuffled around the order. Genuinely attacking and looking to give Pakistan a strong middle order batting position….something Babar and Rizwan have cowered away from doing all their career!

Versus

Babar’s good fortune= basically do nothing but rely on strong PR campaigns lead by ex cricketers who were $hit T20 players or incapable of playing T20….and journalists who apparently see Babar and Rizwan only as two players!

A new player should only be selected when you are ready to back him for long term. They should be selected for a particular position and backed at that position like Pak is doing with Saim Ayub

No doubt about that.

However if a player is picked to play at a different batting position they must show a bit of common sense and application. We were not expecting Hasan Nawaz to score double hundreds batting at number 6/7. A solid 20 or 30 odd runs would have helped his case and eventually opened up his chances to bat high up the order.

Like I said, Hasan Nawaz only has himself to blame.

Guys like Hassan Nawaz, Wasim Jnr etc will face this torture but some players who are failing since years & years will still be retained

Well the examples you have given are players who have proven their metal. Naseem has kinda gone downhill though.

Hassan Nawaz has failed pretty badly I am afraid. We must stop comparing. Hassan needs to work harder on his game, its as simple as that.
