Jahandad Khan is an emerging young cricketing talent from Rawalpindi. He is a left-arm medium-fast bowler who has recently displayed spectacular performances in Pakistan's domestic cricket circuit, particularly in the ongoing President's Trophy Tournament 2023-2024.

Jahandad will also be part of the Lahore Qalandars team squad in HBL PSL 9 this year.

He is poised to make his debut for Pakistan in T20Is against Australia during Pakistan's tour of Australia in 2024.

Jahandad Khan media talk at National Bank Stadium ahead of T20I series against Australia:

"We're heading towards a big series against Australia. I'm excited and prepared. This is my first major series, and facing the world champions will be a challenge."

"I'm grateful to Allah for the respect I've earned in just one year. My only focus is to perform well, whether through bowling or batting."

"If I get the opportunity to bat at number seven or eight, my aim will be to win the match."

"Our practice sessions are going well, and I'm preparing to adapt to Australian conditions."

"Having played in Australia with Shaheen, I have gained valuable experience. Our practice on marble-like surfaces has helped us prepare for Australia's hard, bouncy pitches."

"We've studied Pakistan's first match against Australia and learned from it. Our camp has provided excellent practice, despite not being in Australia."

"I'm confident in my abilities and hopeful of getting a chance. My focus is on performing well in every match, making my debut memorable, and making Pakistan proud."

"My ideal is Mitchell Starc, an exceptional bowler. Unfortunately, he's not playing in the T20 series, but I would have loved to learn from him."

"Under Mohammad Rizwan's captaincy, I'm confident. He's a senior player with excellent performances in PSL and domestic cricket."

He is a really good prospect and can be a potential replacement for Shaheen

Has good batting potential as well

He is in the playing XI for the 3rd T20I against Australia, marking his international debut for Pakistan. Can we expect some spicy spells with the ball and explosive hitting with the bat today?

He was given his T20I cap by Shaheen Shah Afridi in Hobart

He’s not bowling with the same flow as he did in champions cup could be nerves or maybe it’s a bit cold definitely a bowling a yard slower then he is capable off

Really disappointed with his pace. Talent well is truly drying up in Pak.

No more hard hitters or express pacers coming up.

Jahandad Khan replaces Sufiyan Muqeem for the 2nd T20I against South Africa. How do you rate this decision?

First proper look in terms of his bowling. A very 6/10 player unless I am missing something. Good slower ball, decent yorker, but middling pace & not that tall.

Is he able to bat or he's just a leg-side hack like rest of the team?

He doesn't seem a lucky player btw, that's always a bad thing to have the unlucky streak in your cricketing career.

He hasn't impressed me that much as well. Has a lot of variations but still has a lot to prove. Imo his role is similar to that of Abbas Afridi -- and Abbas is clearly a better bowler and batter.

If we had a proper system. He would be told what shortcomings he needs to work on and what targets he needs to hit in order to come into the side and be successful. As it stands he will probably be forgotten until he has a few good matches domestically and he might get another look in without having worked on anything.
