Sohail tanvirr showing middle finger?? Whattt, videos or didnt happen :))

What happened? What is the background of their altercation?

Yup, looks like Ben Cutting still hasn’t gotten over the altercation in the CPL, where Tanvir gave him the gesture.

That was crazy. Cutting absolutely destroyed Tanvir and stuck two middle fingers at him as well

So getting stuck for 3 sixes In your last over and still showing middle finger. That is pure sohail tanvir class

This is some NASCAR-level revenge from Cutting :vk2 Love it.

Not only did he remember but he absolutely demolished Tanvir.

I have a feeling Tanvir must have commented on Cutting going unsold in the IPL. There is no way Cutting would remember a petty grudge from 2018 for so long.

Seems like an old issue:

Tanvir, who was caught on camera giving the Australian batsman a double middle finger gesture after dismissing him, accepted the sanction handed to him by match referee Denavon Hayles.

The Pakistani fast bowler was hit for a six by Ben Cutting in the third ball of the 17th over. St Kitts and Nevis Patriots looked set to make a decent total at that point.

However, the next delivery from Tanvir saw Cutting get clean bowled. The left-arm speedster, who was obviously not happy at being hit for a maximum on the previous ball, showed two middle fingers to the Australian batsman.

I would. And I imagine alot of other people would aswell.

Flipping someone off for no reason can get you killed so why wouldn't someone hold a grudge over it?

Damn!! Sohail Tanveer is still playing international cricket. I thought he retired long time ago.

With the likes of afridi, malik, hafeez and co still going Sohail tanvir has a good 5-7 years in him yet lol

Good to see Sohail having the last laugh by catching Cutting :P

To think that Tanveer raised the finger after getting smacked for 4 sixes only to catch him and think hisab braber

Atleast tanvir isn’t a wimp like other players but Ben cutting is so nice lol why do it to him

could you plz update the OP with CPL fingers. I think that would give good context to it.

I still can't stop laughing at Sohail Tanvir.

Hoping someone does a dubbing of that two indians fighting and using punjabi swears

Fines for both incoming, although Cutting's might be less as his wife is commentating on PSL7 :)

I think IPL missed out on Ben Cutting and his wife combo offer. Its a good deal. Both are decent professionals.

Surely the blame lies mainly on Cutting as he’s the one who showed the finger first right?

Well it was Tanvir who started it first in 2018. Tanvir was hit for six and then clean bowled Cutting the very next ball. Tanvir celebrated
the wicket by showing middle finger with both hands.

Cutting just took his revenge after 4 years by smacking him for 3 sixes in a row.

Wow Tanvir is still playing? All his peers Sreeshanth, RP,Munaf, Irfan Pathan have all retired. Sreeshanth is still around but you know what I mean.

As far as this goes, how can you allow such gestures in a programming watched by families and kids mostly? I am not saying this because of PSL but I would hold the same opinion if it was in any league. Both need some heavy fines.

Tanvir stuck his middle finger in cpl not in 5he psl

He did it in this game too (PSL7). Tanvir did it to Cutting in the CPL years ago. Today after smacking Tanvir for sixes, Cutting showed him the double middle finger (presumably as revenge). Then when Tanvir took the catch to dismiss Cutting in todays game, he again did the double middle finger to Cutting.

Fair enough I didn't see him doing it after he took the catch:)

Cutting and Sohail fined for breaching HBL PSL Code of Conduct in separate incidents

Lahore, 16 February 2022:

Ben Cutting of Peshawar Zalmi and Quetta Gladiators’ Sohail Tanvir have both been fined 15 per cent of their match fees for breaching a Level 1 offence of the HBL PSL Code of Conduct in separate incidents during their side’s match in the HBL Pakistan Super League 2022 on Tuesday.

Both the players were found to have violated Article 2.6 of the HBL PSL Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which relates to “using a gesture that is obscene, offensive or insulting during a PSL Match”.

The incident involving Cutting happened in the penultimate over of Zalmi’s innings when the batter, after hitting the bowler for a third consecutive six, made inappropriate gestures using his fingers.

As regards Sohail, he made similar gestures after catching Cutting off Naseem Shah on the first ball of the final over.

Match referee Ali Naqvi: “Such type of inappropriate gestures have no space in this great sport. The players need to always understand and remember their on and off the field responsibilities as they are role models and behaviour like this sends out a wrong message to the younger generation of cricketers. The HBL PSL 2022 is being played in good, positive spirits and I would like to see the players continue to fight hard inside the field of play but at the same time to remain within the parameters of the spirit of the game.”

Both Cutting and Sohail pleaded guilty to the offences and accepted the sanctions proposed to be imposed by Ali Naqvi and, as such, there was no need for a formal hearing. The charges were levelled by on-field umpires Michael Gough and Rashid Riaz, third umpire Asif Yaqoob and fourth umpire Waleed Yaqoob.

All first-time offences of Level 1 breaches carry a minimum penalty of an official warning and/or imposition of a fine of up to 25 per cent of the applicable match fee.

A bit harsh mate, they deserve a reward for being real men and confronting each other. Better then the cowards who walk away and if’s just so boring to watch, what happened to cricket? such a sissy sport now.

You thinking sticking the middle finger at each other when thousands are watching in the ground and more on tv including many children is appropriate behaviour?

The punishments soft, if anything they shouldve been banned the pair of em Its atrocious behaviour from professionals who should know better

Sohail Tanvir explains the reasons for his feud with Ben Cutting

Exchanging words that we cant hear, a bit of aggression and passion is all great and entertaining. But obscene gestures like that with millions of children watching, and many kids in the ground on child cancer awareness day was completely unacceptable. Should have been a much larger fine and/or 1 match suspension

Should be the end of Tanvir's PSL career but QG are known to "respect"/carry old players.

I believe it was 4 sixes, not two Tanvir bhai

If kids in the stadium can do it then why not the players?

This was unnecessary from both Tanvir and Cutting.

Cricket has changed. Cricket is now more about objective performances. This type of gesture is a thing of the past.

So “families and kids” get a free pass when we all know what happens behind closed doors in our society in terms of abusive language and swearing

Less double standards please

Yeah, cricket is for kids now so you’re right

Nobody gets a free pass Any sort of obscenity should be clamped down on including this

Obviously the punishment in the past wasnt strong enough hence its been repeated

Nobody should condone this sort of behaviour

I would have banned both of them for a match each.

Ugly scenes, totally unnecessary.

I would have given them a two-match ban each. Or how about a ban in one play-off match (if their team makes it), as well as a ban for the next (group) match their team plays.

Not sure why you were so confident when saying that a petty grudge from 4 years ago wouldn't be remembered by Cutting.

People remember man.
