Teams in The Hundred confirm pre-Auction superstar signings
The best men’s and women’s players in the world will once again return to The Hundred this summer with the eight teams confirming the Direct Signings and Retentions that form their pre-Auction signings.
Jos Buttler, Ellyse Perry, Jofra Archer, Laura Wolvaardt, Rashid Khan and Nat Sciver-Brunt will all be back in action, with the likes of Dewald Brevis, Marco Jansen, Lucy Hamilton and Mitchell Owen coming on-board for their first involvement in The Hundred.
Altogether 60 players have been snapped up in the pre-Auction phase, with teams able to add to their squads further at The Hundred Auction in March, the UK’s first major sport auction.
In October it was announced that teams would be allowed up to four pre-auction signings. A maximum of three of these could be direct signings, either an overseas or England Centrally Contracted player. A minimum of one could be a retention, which could be any player from their 2025 squad.
The overall salary pot in The Hundred Men’s Competition increased by 45% for the 2026 season, rising to £2.05m per team, and the salary pot in The Hundred Women’s Competition increased by 100% for the 2026 season, rising to £880,000 per team.
Each team has had a specific amount of money deducted from their final salary pot ahead of the auction, depending on whether they have signed three of four players in the pre-Auction period.
The date for The Hundred Auction will be announced next week, while fixtures for the sixth edition of The Hundred will be shared on Tuesday January 27.
