Stop glorifying third grade aussie batters
The ones you call 3rd grade Aussie Batters wiped their tashreefs with your King and Queen recently in the 3 match T20i series. How can we forget Rizwan’s 26 Ball 16 at Sydney in the powerplay?

Peter Siddle is still bowling some serious heat at the age of 40. He bowled a ball at 148.1 kph while playing for Melbourne Stars against Hobart Hurricanes earlier today.

Stars' Siddle puts heat on Thunder for BBL finals

Led by skipper Marcus Stoinis who once riddled, 'they're nervous, we're calm', the Melbourne Stars will go into their knockout final with nothing to lose.

Newly re-signed quick Peter Siddle has put the pressure on the Sydney Thunder, declaring they will be more nervous than the Melbourne Stars ahead of their BBL finals clash.

After starting the tournament 0-5, the Stars remarkably won their last five matches to book their first post-season appearance since 2019-2020.

The Stars beat the ladder-leading Hobart Hurricanes by 40 runs at the MCG on Sunday to seal their spot in fourth, setting up a knockout final against the third-placed Thunder at Engie Stadium on Wednesday night.

The last loss the green team from Melbourne suffered was against the Thunder back on December 28.

"I don't think we're going to be as nervous as they will be," said Siddle, who will play on for the Stars in the BBL next season at age 41.

"That's been the norm for us, so we're used to it.

"It will just be nice to get up there to Sydney, have a crack and see how we go."

Superstar Glenn Maxwell enters the finals in scintillating form after three-straight player of the match awards.

Since missing out on Australia's Test squad of Sri Lanka, Maxwell is averaging 224 from his last three matches after making 58*, 90 and 76*.

"I guess it's been on the back of some remarkable batting from 'Maxi'. That's helped," Siddle said.

"The all-round efforts, we've had contributions from everyone with bat and ball, been buzzing around in the field, taking catches.

"It's been a really good environment to play in."

But in a blow to the Stars' chances of winning their first BBL title, star allrounder Beau Webster will miss the finals as he heads to Australia's camp in Dubai to prepare for the upcoming Test series against Sri Lanka.

Former Australia batter Peter Handscomb is a chance to return to the Stars as a replacement player, while Jon Merlo could be recalled after playing two games earlier in the tournament.

The Hurricanes will host the Sydney Sixers on Tuesday night as they try to book a spot in their first BBL decider since 2017-18.

The Stars and the Hurricanes are the only remaining BBL franchises not to have won a title in the 14th season of the competition.

Hobart Hurricanes defeat Sydney Thunders by 7 wickets in the final of BBL 14th edition to claim their maiden title

Mitchell Owen smashed a scintillating 39-ball century to lead Hobart Hurricanes to their maiden Big Bash League title.

Owen's century, which was the joint-fastest in BBL history, helped the hosts blaze to a seven-wicket victory over David Warner's Sydney Thunder with 30 balls to spare.

The 23-year-old Tasmanian opener clobbered 11 sixes as Thunder's bowlers wilted under the onslaught.

Owen departed for 108 off 42 balls to leave Matthew Wade (32 off 17 balls) and Ben McDermott (18 off 12 balls) to steer Hurricanes to the trophy in front of a jubilant home support at Ninja Stadium in Hobart.

"It's an amazing feeling," said Owen. "I was doing what I've tried to do all competition – get us off to a good start so we could take it easy in the middle and thankfully I came off."

Thunder were going well when openers Jason Sangha (67) and Warner (48) shared a 97-run opening stand before both were dismissed by Hurricanes captain Nathan Ellis (3-23).

Once again, fast bowler Riley Meredith, who has consistently bowled at speeds in excess of 90mph throughout the tournament, impressed with three middle-order wickets, including England's Sam Billings, who was bowled for 20.

England's Chris Jordan was expensive, finishing with 0-47 from four overs for Hurricanes, but a total of 182-7 was never going to be enough once Owen found his groove.

Victory was much deserved for Hurricanes, who finished top of the regular season table. It leaves Melbourne Stars as the only team yet to win a BBL title.

It was honestly insane and that too from a 23 year old.

Aussie future superstars are shining brighter then a sunny moon.

does he have an ipl contract?
Why? So the PSL can give platinum contacts to Babar and Rizwan,

And then dumb owners can pick TKC and Bracewell as platinum picks whilst proper talents like Cooper Connolly and Lhuan De Pretorious go unsold?

Thread is not babar and rizwan but rizbabar has been on the nerves of many that they cannot stop talking about them... TALK ABOUT BBL ONLY

Monday’s thrilling KFC BBL|14 Final was the second highest rating BBL game ever and most watched in nine years, capping a record-breaking season for the League.

A national average audience of 1.6 million, with estimated reach of over 3.5 million, watched the Hobart Hurricanes capture their first BBL title, defeating Sydney Thunder by seven wickets.

That figure was 43% higher than the BBL|13 Final, and the most watched BBL game ever across each of Seven, Foxtel, 7plus and Kayo Sports.
