[PICTURES] Yasir Arafat appointed as the High-Performance Coach of the Pakistan Cricket Team

I like the move !

Believe Yasir Arafat has some good experience in the UK and think he's got some decent qualifications?

Curious to see his progression.

Why not bring in 11 coaches so that each player gets a personal coach... PCB on a mission to hire every jobless ex cricketer..

Not sure why bilal shafqat is not our batting coach
Also not sure how much arafat knows about touring new zealand

Yasir Arafat appointed High-Performance Coach

Lahore, 26 December 2023:

Former Test all-rounder Yasir Arafat has been appointed as the High-Performance Coach of the Pakistan Cricket Team. He will be part of the team management for the upcoming five T20Is against New Zealand scheduled from 12 to 21 January, 2024 in New Zealand.

41-year-old, Yasir, appeared in three Tests, 11 ODIs and 13 T20Is for Pakistan. He completed his ECB Level 4 coaching course from Loughborough University, becoming the first Pakistan Test cricketer to do so. He has also worked as bowling coach with county teams like Sussex and Surrey, as well as with Australia’s Big Bash League franchise, Perth Scorchers. Recently, he worked as a bowling coach with the Hong Kong national team.

Besides coaching, Yasir has featured for different T20 teams in league cricket around the globe, including appearances for Otago and Canterbury in New Zealand domestic T20 league cricket.

Yasir will serve as the camp commandant for the five-day camp in Lahore from 29 December to 2 January for the preparation of the tour.

We need more coaches like him who are professionally trained to perform this job, surely it will create positive impact on pakistan cricket.

I think he is a decent appointment. Wish him all the best on his new role.

After Yasir Arafat's appointment as the High-Performance Coach of the Pakistan Cricket Team, he joins the Pakistan T20I squad for Day 1 of the training camp in Lahore.

Yasir Arafat's media talk ahead of Pakistan tour of New Zealand :

"Azam has been hit with the ball, but he is perfectly fine. He will come back for another batting round. There is no serious injury; these ups and downs, injuries, and niggles are a part of the game, but there is no major issue,"

"Haseebullah is a very exciting cricketer. I have been following him since he played Under-19 two years ago. Apart from him, Sahibzada Farhan has shown significant improvement,"

"Abbas Afridi has the potential to become a good all-rounder. I really like his attitude. In the past, we have seen that bowlers tend to focus only on their bowling. It is essential for a bowler to work on their batting as well. I have observed that Abbas, in the nets, is practicing his batting,"
