GDA leader Pir Pagara has asserted that the upcoming government will not last beyond eight to 10 months as per his information.

Pir Pagara warns of martial law, emergency amid political crisis

Pir Sibghatullah Shah Rashidi, popularly known as Pir Pagara, the chief of the Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA), issued a stark warning on Friday, predicting that the coalition government would collapse within 10 months, possibly leading to an imposition of emergency or martial law in the country.

Speaking at a protest sit-in against alleged election rigging at Jamshoro Bypass, Pir Pagara stated that the GDA's stance wasn't merely about contesting the recent elections but about unveiling the systemic irregularities that plagued the electoral process.

PTI to sit in opposition in Centre, Punjab on Imran’s directives: Saif

Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif, a leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), announced on Friday that, following the instructions of PTI founder Imran Khan, the party has decided to sit in opposition both at the Centre and in the province of Punjab.

The decision was disclosed during a press conference held after a meeting between a PTI delegation and Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) chairman Aftab Khan Sherpao in Peshawar.

Saif conveyed that the PTI is engaging with various political parties as per Imran Khan's directives. He expressed concerns about election results, noting that there were instances where individuals who were expected to win by significant margins had their results reversed, posing a substantial challenge in the long run.

Guess PTI will grab their popcorn and watch this tragedy unfold. Once PDM v2 collapse there will be martial law unless current general is ousted.

This actually is a very valid point. If the PTI is really smart, it'll hold it's powder in reserve for say the next 2 - 2.5 years. One way or the other, there's going to be whole lot of pain for the Pakistani public in terms of inflation, privatisation etc. during this period. Let the PMLN take these tough decisions per the IMF program and wait for the economy to turn.

At the right point, when it's beginning to turn at the Macro level - Forex reserves, FDI etc., but before it starts trickling down to the masses which will take another 12 to 18 months, come out into the streets and force an election. Then you can ride that wave to victory as long as you don't **** the Establishment off again.

Two concerns though
- Imran is already a pretty old guy and will be much older in 2 to 2.5 years. Will he still have the energy for a mass movement. That's assuming he strikes a deal and makes it out of jail
- I'm sure the PPP is planning something similar. Support the PMLN from the outside through the tough decisions, take no blame for them and pull the rug out from under them when the time is right. Question is whether they have the quality of leadership to be able to pull such an elaborate fan dance off.

Yes if we are cynical and want the country to sink so low that it can never recover. PK needs a govt that can convince its people that the sacrifices being made will lead to a better future. Will anyone trust SS and AZ, knowing full well that they hold billions outside PK and will jump ship.

I am not so sure. I think the company will make them last at the point of gun. They face the noose for murders if the mafia lose control. Those cases of murder, kidnappings and torture aren't going away for the next 2 decades.

Looks like PTI's taken the call to play the long game and sit in opposition. Someone's advising Imran Khan well. He doesn't strike me as smart enough for such a strategy.

PTI to sit in opposition

Here's the link from Dawn

PTI to sit in opposition in Centre, Punjab: Barrister Saif

PTI’s Barrister Ali Saif has said the party has decided to sit in the opposition in the Centre and Punjab in accordance with instructions of party founder Imran Khan.
Talking to the media after visiting the Qaumi Watan Party in Islamabad, Saif said: “We decided to sit in opposition despite the reality that if we received seats according to our votes and the results were not changed then maybe today we might have been in the Centre with 180 seats. Form 45 is the evidence that our candidates won.”

Haha, I think Pir Pagar is a bit generous who gave them 8 to 10 months. In my opinion this government will hardly last 5 months or even less than that because this "Bhan Mati ka qumba" can't get you results.

Isnt he quite in tune with Gilani?

I remember when Gilani was PM he had to go and meet these guys to get some sort of patronage.

I could be wrong though it ws a long time ago and Im not 100% sure of details.

PPP will be blackmailing PMLN every day if another coalition govt is formed. Pir Sahab is right here. PMLN won't be bale to handle the pressure and can perish soon.

lol pir sahab? So now people will start considering him a pir? lol

Pir Pagara was a bit generous in giving them that much time.... otherwise the government of these clowns can hardly last three months.

Has Javed Latif gone mad or what?

Nawaz eyes fourth term as PM within two years'
Javed Latif hints early elections could be in the cards to pave way for PML-N supremo's fourth stint as PM

Senior Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Javed Latif has raised red flags for his own central government, hinting that early elections could be in the cards within the next two years to pave the way for Nawaz Sharif's fourth stint as country’s prime minister.

Latif dropped the comments during an interview with a private TV channel where he said whether the elections take place in two or five years, the PML-N supremo will take the reins of power for the fourth time.

Pressed to explain how Nawaz could reclaim the top spot within two years, especially with his own brother currently occupying it, Latif said it would be possible through elections. “The elections can happen tomorrow.”

He predicted that even those who once obstructed Nawaz’s path to a fourth term as premier would now rally behind him.

He pointed out that a party with a two-thirds majority often struggles to complete its term. How then, he questioned, can this government, lacking a simple majority and propped up by the crutches of two parties —a setup orchestrated by 'someone else' —expect to endure its full term?

The senior PML-N politician further warned that the withdrawal of support from even one coalition party could jeopardise the government’s survival.

Latif is the only remaining active party member who continues to take swipes at his own party's central government.

Given the track record of his colleague Rana Sanaullah—who, after throwing jabs at his own party's central government, promptly joined the same cabinet he accused of being chosen by the establishment—many in the party view this as Javed's desperate attempt to bargain for a position in the government.

A source within the Prime Minister's Office revealed that Sanaullah was brought into the cabinet to exert control over him. The source said he was a senior party leader and president of Punjab, adding that any action against him—even if approved by Nawaz Sharif—could have been harmful to the party's interests.

He remarked that the situation was particularly embarrassing for Sanaullah, given that he ended up joining the very same cabinet he had previously mocked.

When questioned about whether Rana Sanaullah and Ishaq Dar's appointments were decisions made by Shehbaz Sharif, he said he was not at liberty to divulge any specifics, noting that in the PML-N party, Nawaz Sharif remains the founder and his decisions reign supreme.

He said that Javed, inspired by Rana Sanaullah, might have chosen to go all out. He added that it was up to Nawaz Sharif to assess his party leaders who deviate from the party line.
