Players to exclude from the 2019 edition of the Pakistan Super League

There are certain players in PSL teams that I as a fan would not want to see in next years PSL. Some have pass their retirement age and others are not fit for this fast format.

I wouldn’t want to see the following players:

Khuram Manzoor
Asad Shafiq
Umer Akmal
Misbah
Ahmed Shahzad
TS Mills
Iftikhar

Just to name a few. There are plenty of good players out there but the culture or seniority and connections is keeping them out.

The only thing wrong with UA and Shehzad playing in the PSL is performance. I'm fine with them playing if their performing but if there not there is no reason for them to be picked.

There's a draft for a reason, it's not like they're being forced to pick them or picking selfie and Akmal for their nonexistent diehard fanbase, we just think we have more quality than we actually do, if players that have flopped internationally are being picked, it's largely because there isn't a better alternative. Very strange criticism tbh, Akmal and particularly Shehzad has a solid PSL track record.

There is a graphic here somewhere (can't remember which thread) which shows the Shehzads average in the first season where it was really high and the last couple of seasons where he has been mediocre to say the least. Maybe someone can post it here.

The thing with you is once you make up your mind it is very hard for you to be subjective later on and change/modify your views. Since you are studying to be a doctor I hope you will not be as obstinate as peoples well being would be at stake.

Btw are you still doing your MBBS or are you currently specializing in a specific field?

It's not about who we want/don't want. The franchises are picking their team, the team they believe will give them the best chance at winning. Sure we want younger players in that situation but at the end of the day its their investment, their money, their call.

U19 team has really good Openers but they were ignored. There are players like Imam ul Haq, Mukhtar Ahmed, Nauman Anwar, Awais Zia, Naveed Yasin, Bismillah Khan, Rafitullah who are miles ahead of Shafiq and Khuram when it comes to providing quick starts.

How on earth can you not select Imran Khan Sr, Ihsan Adil, Sadaf...etc
