Umer Khan (In t20s)
Amad Butt (In ODIs/T20s)
Khushdil Shah (In ODIs/T20s)
Haris Rauf (In T20s/ODIs)

Mohammad Asghar (In tests)

Mohammad Hasnain (Outside chance in tests)

Some bonus comeback picks in LOIs: Sharjeel Khan, Iftikhar Ahmed, Shinwari, Ruman Raees, Mohammad Nawaz, Umar Akmal, Raza Hassan and last but not the least Ahmed Shehzad :inzi2

Theirs a a lot who can find a way to make a debut weather they leave a great impression is another thing hopefully they do.

Would like to see someone like haidar Ali or Rohail nazir make a debut or Usama Baloch

Look for Batsmen first. Saif Badar should be fast tracked into the side as the permanent number 5 till next world cup.

Nasir Nawaz should also be looked at.

Among bowlers, Naseem shah could be given a go.

What I'm worried about is this...odi middle order batters after Malik and Hafeez are gone...!
I know for now, its Haris and Asif, but who would make the squad of 15?
Two more please...

We need top class batsmen. When Pakistan puts up a good total in tests or odis the bowlers can defend it.

We will need to find at least 2 new batsmen to replace Malik, Hafeez and maybe Sarfraz? Give more chances to Rizwan, Abid Ali, Khushdil Shah and Saud Shakeel(people here at PP seem to love him).

Please try out Zafar Gohar and Umer Khan. Can't believe we're playing with only 1 proper spinner.

Oh and let's try out Sharjeel Khan for a few matches and see how it goes.

Good point his banned will be expire in Sep-19, he should be given chances.

Saud Shakeel, Khushdil Shah and Iftikhar Ahmed can play in ODIs. Khushdil and Iftikhar are probably one of the most consistant hitters of a cricket ball we have and can contribute with ball atleast as much as Malik and post remodeled action Hafeez. While Saud Shakeel is a classy left hander who if groomed properly can go onto become another complete batsman we have alongside Babar and Haris.

Saif Badar is a really talented batsman but he needs one career defining season in domestics.

Would loved to see Haidar Ali, Naseem Shah and Rohail Nazir

Omair Yousuf (20 years old) and Imran Rafiq (22 years old) who both had a pretty impressive 4 day season last year are ones to look for future as well.

Keep these two out:

Amad
Khushdil

Do you want our team to get even worse? Both aren't international quality. Please don't take names randomly.

Only Saud has some potential and he seems like a textbook batsman. I don't know much about Saif Bada, haven't seen him play.

Naseem, Rauf can be tried but it will be a gamble and probably a mistake to pick them without first class experience, required fitness.

Usama, Asghar, probably Umer too. These should be tried as spinners, Imad Wasim won't do jack, not a bowler.

Musa, no chance, too short.

I would like to see Umair Yousuf as somebody has pointed out given a chance in tests. He's had a good season last year and looks classy as well.

Saud Shakeel should get his chance. He should be a back up for Haris.
Zafar Gohar should be permanent in ODIs.
Somebody for no. 6 spot in ODIs. Saif Badar should be tried out.
Naseem Shah should be there on Aus tour along with Hasnain.

Saud Shakeel
Haris Rauf
Zafar Gohar

These are 3 players I want to see be given a chance.

Rohail Nazir and Haider Ali also

What about Nabi Gul, Rizwan Hussian, Azam Khan, Muhammad Zaid, Ahsan Ali and Usama Baloch?

The player I want to see immediately after WC is Ruhail Nazir. He is at the right age, excellent in shape for a WK and in form now.

Saud probably will make it automatically now that the backbone isn't required, while I am sure Gohar will play in UAE Test. May be a new opener as well - Haphew (Hack + nephew) isn't working to be honest and uncle won't be in his job either.

Zafar, haris rauf, naseem shah, saif badar and saud are the players that should come in.

Need a good wk batsmen too but i don't know any, ahsan ali is a good bat and he his a wk too i think but i am not sure if he is a regular wk and i think he is tto far from selection.

I named Amad Butt and Khushdil on the basis of need of the team and their performances in last few domestic seasons. Amad Butt is a decent bowler who can hit the long ball and can play the role of a bowling all rounder while Khushdil Shah has been on of the most consistent aggressive batsman in list A with avg of around 48 and SR of 97 and 8 100s while Pak has been lacking a batsman with such SR in middle order for sometime.

Rohail Nazir and Haider Ali also

Only reason I haven’t mentioned Rohail Nazir is that Rizwan is already in the waiting for that WK role and after scoring couple of 100s against Aus he will surely be given a go. Rohail is definitely a talent for the long run.

While for Haider Ali the opening batsman I think he will be playing in U19 WC alongside Rohail so its highly unlikely they are selected before that which will end in Feb. we can only hope that he and Rohail both get games in 4 day cricket and then after U19 world cup in PSL to come in limelight.

Although both can be possible but I would be pleasantly surprised of this happens with in an year.

I understand, but while watching them play, albeit a few years ago, they didn't look international material. Quite a few flaws, limited game.

Domestic numbers are a different thing, can often be misleading.

Umer Khan is a must if we want to win the WT20 next year. He can get wickets even if the pitch isn't turning a millimeter.

Saud Shakeel
Haris Rauf
Zafar Gohar

These are 3 players I want to see be given a chance.

So frustrating how we're wasting Zafar Gohar. He is a genuine spinner and is still only 24. Had we stuck with him back in 2015 he would've been a mainstay in the team. He is much better than Shadab.

I heard lot of this guy here at PP, how many FC centuries he has scored in last 1-2 seasons ?

He scored his first and only century last season but he has just played 7 matches and is currently 21 years old. That is why I havent mentioned his name and said that he needs atleast one breakout FC season. His List A game improved quite a lot last year, hopefully he can improve further as he has natural timing and has time to play pace.

True, Zafar is definitely one of the refined products we have and its high time he is given a long run.

They both have improved considerably in last couple of years and stats will also show that.

I remember seeing Sharjeel Khan when he debuted, looked leg sidish hack bit like Awais Zia. However, he worked hard and nurtured his talent and in 3-4 years time he was completely different beast.

Amad Butt is much more confident about his bowling (Have added a really good back of the hand slower ball) as he showed in PSL 2019 as well and his batting has also shown improvement in recent list A competitions.

While for Khushdil Shah I wasnt able to see his few innings in Pakistan Cup live but scoring a 99 ball 150 odd not out in winning cause this year in Pak Cup was atleast statistically one of the most impressive innings by a Pakistani batsmen anywhere while chasing and that too with consistently hitting the ball hard. He has improved in last couple of years as well which List A stats will show.

I am not saying they gonna be world beaters from the word go but I think there is a chance that they can be selected in LOIs in next one year along with other names mentioned.

I would love to see Sharjeel Khan back action but not sure if PCB will consider him.

He was all set to play in a test against England in 2015. But he missed his fight for whatever reason.

I think Inzi has a personal issue with him. He is a very good spinner . Also capable with the bat and in the field . So I don't have a reason why he hasn't been selected other than Inzi having a personal issue with him.

Yeah I remember that. He messed up his chance man.

It does seem that someone in the PCB has something against him.

Khushdil Shah , saud shakeel , zafar gohar and Mohammad husnain should play then next odi.

I don't know when is our next ODI but I think it is against australia later this year. The players who can not be part of the next world cup should focus on other formats and retire from odis. Sarfraz has 2 , 3 years in him and he should play test cricket for now and retire from the pther two formats , whab riaz is 34 already and he too should retire from odis. Hafeez and malik should obviously retire from everything cricket. Zafar gohar is most probably the biggest turner of cricket ball in pakistan but has been on ignore list of selectors for quite long , he is an excellent fielder as well. Saud shakeel is another very stylish and competent middle order batsman. My only concern though is that our batting will be too left handed heavy , imam , haris , saud shakeel , khushdil shah and then at number 7 we have another left handed in imad.

Replacements needed for Hafeez, Malik, Asif Ali, Wahab, Faheem, and another quality full time spin bowler.

Good point his banned will be expire in Sep-19, he should be given chances.

Yeah give him chance so that more young players will be involved in spot fixing in future. He was a fabulous player but pakistan shouldn't give him any other chance so that other players aren't involved in fixing in future.

Add Iftikhar Ahmed to that list, perhaps try Abid Ali as Wicket keeper opener in place of Sarfraz

Imam
Abid Ali WK
Babar Azam C
Haris Sohail
Saud Shakeel
Iftikhar Ahmed
Khsudil Shah
Zafar Gohar
M Hasnain
Shaheen Afridi
Haris Rauf

Others to be rotated
Shadab
Umer Khan
Saif Badar
M Rizwan WK
M Musa
Sharjeel
Ahmed Shehzad

1 Imam
2 Rohail
3 Babar
4 Haris
5 Badar
6 Imad *
7 Shadab
8 Zafar
9 Amir
10 Hasnain
11 Shaheen

Saud should be the back up for Haris.

reslly wsnt to see naseem shah and saud shakeel.. before giving them debut hope we fix our domestic coaching mantra and prepare these kids for the international cricket.

Find gaps in the line up and then go onto fill them will new players. In my opinion the following are set for a little while:

1. Fakhar (Is hanging on by a thread)
2. XXXXXXXX (Imam needs to go)
3. Babar
4. Haris
5. XXXXXXXX (Need a keeper batsman who can bat at 5)
6. XXXXXXXX (Number 6 batsman)
7. Shadab/Imad (only one can play)
8 XXXXXXXXX (Pace bowling alrounder)
9. XXXXXXXX (Proper spinner)
10. Amir
11. Shaheen

So 5 deficiencies are easily identifiable in the side. Now I know Imam has a stellar record but as can be seen in the WC he fails more often than not and hardly ever has an impact on the game. Plays too slow and gifts his wicket at crucial junctures (vs Aus and Afg). I think a good replacement for him will be Zeeshan Malik he is young and fiery and has a List A average of nearly 60 albeit after 9 matches. He could be a good foil for Fakhar as well (who btw is on his last chance as well).

For the number 5 keeper batsman I'll take a shout with Rizwan because browsing through domestics I couldn't find a single keeper who has a good enough batting record. Even the much hailed Rohail has a batting average in the 20s.

For the number 6th batsman we don't have to look any further than Khushdil Shah. He has a stellar record batting at 5 and 6 and deserves a go.

Pace bowling alrounder is a MASSIVE worry. Not one quality player for this in the domestics. Ammad Butt is just a middle-class man's Fahim Ashraf.

We have a readymade product in Zafar Gohar as the proper spinner, sadly enough he never got a chance to show off his skills.

Need to make these changes immediately and see how the team rises.

Fakhar should be dropped. He is not good enough for international level.
1. Sarjeel ( he has four good years of cricket still)
2. Imam ( He will have long career. Hes hated by Pakistanies but admired by all cricket pundits. Haider ali should be extra opener ready to replace any of the openers)
3. Babar ( next batting legend. May well end up best ever pak batsman)
4. Haris
5. Some one with solid technique and power shots. Someone like umar akmal with better head and attitude.
6. Asif Ali. He needs to work on his fitness and fielding.
7. Shadab khan for now because I don't see any promising legie.
8. Amir. He needs to work on his fitness and find his lost extra yard of pace.
9. Hasnain. He needs a better bowling coach.
10. Naseem Shah
11. Shaheen Afridi. At next World cup he will be best in the world.

Yeah give him chance so that more young players will be involved in spot fixing in future. He was a fabulous player but pakistan shouldn't give him any other chance so that other players aren't involved in fixing in future.

Todays cricket world is not about ethics & principles, half of the CSK team with owner caught cheating & you see what had happened? all are playing even international level cricket.

Its all about what you need.

Dont afraid of ICC, which role is more fishy than any corrupt board.

& for your part of youngsters, PCB should make the security network strong so that no player can be approach by bookies.

All that is required is that we give importance to the performers in the domestic competitions and do not select raw players without any first class experience.
Saad Ali not mentioned. But play him in the right firmat: Tests

Honestly speaking Inzi & group did injustice with this young player, just to accommodate his nephew, saad ali made to play at #7.

Accommodate his nephew? Saad Ali is a middle order batsman while Imam is an opener.

We have talented youngsta beauties such as Akmal Bros, Shahzad waiting in the wings Mashallah. Guaranteed comebacks.

I am not saying he should come back or not. Thread was regarding chance of players we can see in next one year. I am not to judge anyone’s morality, its for PCB to decide whether he can come in or not.

Khushdil Shah
Usama Baloch
Rohail Nazir
Saif Badar
Abbas Afridi
Umer Khan ( KK Spinner)

Umer Khan

These four should be part of the squad.

Hasan Mohsin
Haider Ali
Saif Badar
Zeeshan Malik
Rohail Nazir
Haris Rauf
Naseem Shah
Umer Khan

All need to perforn in the domestic season, a breakout season needed. I would love selectors to pick them for Pakistan A instead of useless players like Rahat Ali and Khumram Manzoor.
