To be rewarded with a test cap is every cricketer's dream ( at least used to be ). But its never been easy or cheap, ask Mike Hussey or Brad Hodge or players like Shafiq Papa in the past or Abid Ali in current team . Unless you are a Pakistani cricketer any lucky enough to be someone like Musa or Hasan Raza.

Musa, arguably got the cheapest test cap in Pakistan's history. Only 19, and short, not meant to be an international fast bowler got the cap with only handful of FC game with 17 expensive wickets.

Hasan Raza , awarded the cap when only 14 with no significant FC record, although he performed well in under 15 tournament and made his test debut the same year.

Ignoring the likes of Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Ireland, and Zimbabwe, Musa Khan definitely has to up there. Him receiving a test cap makes Pakistan look like a joke even more and also makes Test cricket look like a joke.

Not sure what anyone saw in Musa khan. He's worse than Indian trundler brigade.

Shhhh! He's talented, well built and has pace! /s

Whole PCB needs a thorough revamp, if it were up to me. Just fire these stupid people who earn their living thanks to cricket and yet can't take a logical decision in years of continuous phaintas

If Misbah/Waqar have an ounce of shame, they should resign immediately after upcoming innings defeat. And Pakistan need coach and a real selection committee.

shafiq got a Test cap with a FC average of 38 because his technique looked good and now Pak are heavily paying for it.

Fawad averaged 50+ in FC and still hasn't got a Test cap because his technique is horrible.

Invested in the guy with a trash FC record, but neglected the guy with a fantastic FC record - where did it take Pak cricket?

Down the gutter and getting humiliated both home and away.

Well said OP.

The Pakistan Test cap should be hard earned, not doled out like candy to unproven kids like Musa after one half-decent PSL campaign.

If by indian trundler brigade you mean the iconic- praveen kumar, munaf patel, ashok dinda, joginder sharma etc, I think Musa is far away from being as bad as them.

How many players do we have in the circuit having played less than 10 tests and nowhere to be seen now? Using international cricket as a practice ground has been our trait for a long time.
