Watching the Villa v Sheff Utd game with all players having 'Black Lives Matter' on their shirts instead of their names.

This is a joke imo, it's ruining my watching experience, I have no clue which player is on the ball as I dont know all of the Villa and Utd players.

I assume tommorow if a player wants to wear a wristband with 'Palestinian live matter' or 'Stop Iraeli Apartheid', the world will be fine with this too?

The biggest joke is this incident has nothing to do with the UK.

This is creating more division and racism.

I agree. I think everyone would have a fit if anyone wore the Palestinian lives matter t-shirts.

It used to be said you shouldnt mix politics and sport

I guess its fine to pick and choose which topics can and which cant

I think it's lucky there is no crowd. There is racism in football stands, nothing like the 70's 0r 80's but im sure some would have jumped at the chance to be racist after seeing these shirts.

Palestine will never happen, the Jews and others will call this racism! The irony.

I read somewhere about a 3rd of the players in the premier league, are black - is this true?

Agreed!

Politics shouldn't pollute sports. Leave sports alone.

Sports should unite people.

It always has.

This is an idealistic argument that ignores the history of sports, from the Colosseum to the Olympics.
