Okay so all of you are criticising the squad ...

So can you please give the names of young and upcoming replacements ...

and

please support those replacements atleast by last 20 ListA games performance stats and 20 last domestic T-20 tournament's games....

Hafeez is irrelevant he is non_performing bat...

Ok so you went from "This is good squad" to "Positive criticism" :)))

Quite a turn around buddy.

hahaha :)))
Yar we are a mediocre team and that squad is the best we have right now so o think those who are criticizing it should give some replacements but supported by current stats..

Saad has list a average of over 60, Talat was arguably the best middle order batsman in list a this season . Far better than Zakir or professor

Riaz has done nothing in Odis since that spell to Watson, sohail khan was the best bowler at psl and even improved his batting

See the thing is you are just ignoring facts

the op wants replacements..

here is my squad

azhar ali, zaman, babar, talat, malik, sarfraz, shadab, imad, amir, hasan, sohail khan

reserves: fahim ashraf, asghar, junaid khan, saad ali, shinwari

what about the above ODI squad.... Sports_Psychologist

Azhar ali - Want to see how he does as a batsman without the pressure of being captain and to lead from the front...

selections of hafeez, kamran, shehzad, asif zakir, riaz in the ODI squad selected needs justification...

Hafeez had a bad PSL and in the AUS series except his fifty when he captain the team (dropped when he was "1" by smith)... he was called back to AUS to test his bowling and he is wicketless in that series...

Shehzad didnt improve a bit in his strike rotation, he still does the same ......4.......6.....2...1.1..out

Kamran (Instead of selecting him and I would select young players and give them the int'l exposure that they need)

Riaz (he hasnt done anything special after that over to watson)

UA unfit so not selected

Criticism itself is a negative term - we can analyze & find out positives & negatives.

Both the squads are quite decent - from an open mind, I picked almost 13/14 of these players couple of weeks back, for which Inzi should be given credit.

Only few selections have spoiled it & he has picked squad in a way that these players will be automatic starters, even with repeated failure.

For example,

1. picking MoHa is a mistake, but blunder is to pick Asif as his back-up at No. 4. This means, even serial failure, MoHa will have the advantage of "experience". Pick Saad Ali, or even Haris, MoHa's position would have been shaky
2. Aagin it comes from the initial mistake - they picked MoHa for 4, which makes 6 right-handers in middle order. Now, WI will use at least 25 overs of spinners that take the ball away from right handers. Saad or Haris at 4 would have solved it
3. Wahab was picked for both team - ideally, he should have been part of T20 & dropped from ODI, for Sohail (but retained with tour party). This would have given him a time for breather in Test series & kept him in practice on those wickets. Now at 35+, I feel, he'll be tired for Test series.
4. No point carrying Nawaz - it's not about how he performs, there are several left-arm spinners in PAK, who'll be successful against these WI hacks; but from combination point; no point taking 2 identical spinners - Asghar should have been in T20 as well, or PAK should have taken another hard hitting batsman/all-rounder.

There are lots of positives - top is the 2 genuine spinners picked for squad. I hope, both are played. Raees is a fantastic pick - he can focus on to become a LO specialist, who can hit it hard & long (On top of being a death over specialist). Hasan & Raees can make a formidable pair for last few overs in both format, which should allow Captain to use Amir for 7+3 spells with new ball.

Overall, very, very good picks apart from MoHa (& Asif comes as safety net, as his side kick - picking Haris or Saad would have risked the National Treasure) - I would have given 8.5 at least on combined score. I have personal soft corner for Umar on the potential, but few people are born like that - can't help & can't drag them even to haven. Otherwise, he won't have complained for keeping at first place.

Good analysis.

Really can't fault selectors for picking Kamran & Shehzad here.

Only real blunders, as you stated, were not picking Sohail Khan (and even Yamin) for someone like Tanvir, and then picking the likes of Asif Zakir and Hafeez over the likes of Saad Ali & Talat.

Saad Ali in for Hafeez
Talat in for Zakir
Sohail in for Wahab

These changes and I would have been fine with odi squad.

You can't touch MoHa - Inzi saved his job here.

Well if Hafeez is selected in the champions trophy it might cost Arthur his job.

Won't - they'll use MoHa for impact-less 7/8 overs & justify his spot as all-rounder.

Yesterday, I was surprised to hear from Sohaib, who is actually a very good bowling analyst - that suggests how highly MoHa is rated. None will be questioned for selecting him.

Since his comeback, MoHa hasn't taken a single wicket that actually impacts the game & he has drained 5/6 singles at will, in the match where PAK was defending 263 & opening pair got AUS 50/2. MoHa & Imad couldn't take the asking over 6 for a single ball, because they are more of a pressure bowler, won't work as long as the target is manageable. Even Malik is a better wicket taking threat, because he can flight the ball & actually turns it.

I fail to understand if Inzi genuinely believes Hafeez is good enough for this team, or Inzi has surrendered to the seniority culture.

No such thing as positive or negative, only facts and opinions.

Or maybe some of the blame has to lie with tie coach and captain.

Remember Mickey did ask for Hafeez in Australia.

Can't believe Mickey likes Hafeez. The dude was atrocious in Australia. His only knock of substance was in a low-scoring match when he was dropped on 0.

Also in Australia he failed to pick a wicket across the five matches.

Alrounder indeed.

Cummon Guys thats a well balanced squad though selecting Shan over Sami is a blunder but rest of the squad looks reasonably good even with these two retiring dinosaurs team looks young...
give credit where due..
