Poitives

Fakhar, back to his own, a great positive
Babar, continuing his prolific form
Asif, a power hitter we have been looking for, showing his worth

Negatives

pathetic bowling
Fake allrounder, can;t bowl, can;t bat, : faheem
Sarfraz can;t win a game for you, he is contended with getting close to target

Sohail can't pace his inning beyond a certain limit.
Yasir Shah and Faheem should send back on next available flight.
Amir deserves a fair chance to build his case, when fit

Look at it from another perspective.

Shouldn’t you all be happy that they tried their best to win and atleast they fought hard until the end and not give up?

Isn’t that what matters? Yes they lost, but they lost trying hard to win.

This will be good learning experience for both the bowlers and batsman.

Posters on here should grow up, seriously.

Stop blaming the bowlers or the batsman.

We should also look at it from England's perspective.

They let a team like Pakistan almost chase down 374.

After a long time we saw Pakistan fighting.

That is what we were lacking in the previous matches.

Way to go lads!

The same line up that capitulated against Bangladesh scored 361

Positives:
Fighting spirit
Good batting .. most batsmen contributed .. I won’t be too worried about lack of hitting from some batsmen because you cannot have all perfect batsmen realistically

Negatives:
Bowling lacked any plans B and C. Death bowling sucked.
Yasir is not an ODI bowler. If you want him to bowl then someone needs to teach him variations.
Sarfaraz’s captaincy showed no imagination. Once under pressure he just seemed to give up.

The plus side of today is that the batsmen actually gave the chase a go instead of settling for respectable defeat. If you can match England's batting lineup blow for blow, and we were ahead of England's total for the majority of the chase, that is a huge positive.

The downside is the bowling is regressing at an alarming rate. Now we can fix this if we're willing to be brave in our selections (call up a proper spinner from domestic), and admit we're making a bad investment with Faheem Ashraf. The good thing about this England series is it'll expose the weak links before the World Cup.

However I fear our management will persist with Faheem and his 307 bowling average, and think Shadab is the saviour who will resolve our spin issues when actually his record against top teams is mediocre.

I think all the bowlers need to be put on notice. But only if they were unable to put clear plans into action. If there was no plan then the coach and captain are at fault.

I think it’s too panicky to throw them all under the bus after one game. There are three more games and under slightly better bowling conditions, we may all be complaining our batting and praising our bowlers! So let’s see how they perform in the rest of the series. But like I said the whole team and think tank should be held accountable for lack of clear plans.
