Seems we have a new star in town in Haider Ali and the this weeks POTW from KingOfPakBreakfast describes the wonder-kid's qualities very nicely!

Look, a lot to like with Haider. I really like the kid and have expressed some Pros and Cons in his performance below. Please note, it may come across as negative, but I'm very high on this kid and all the cons that I mention are very fixable:
PROS:
1) The one thing that really stood out for me was his pacing of his innings against LQ. He would regularly rotate strike, especially after hitting a boundary.
2) The boy can hit.
3) The pace of his innings was very Hashim Amla esque. This shows that he takes on instruction well. Thus, very coachable, always a plus especially in young batsmen.
CONS:
1) He absolutely rode his luck. There was a pull shot that went for 6 that would have been caught on other grounds. Which leads to:
2) His technique when pulling and leg glancing the ball needs work. He regularly doesn't get in line/position to make those shots work. Hence his leg glances either get edged behind on the offside for 4 or go straight up and his pulls get height more than distance. Needs reps in domestic to play these shots well.
3) He still has this thing where if he has 1 or 2 plays and misses, he stresses out and then tries to play a big shot. Like all good batsmen, he needs to forget the previous ball and play each ball on it's merit. He should back himself rather than stress about plays and misses.
4) Absolutely not a no5. The lowest he should bat is no.4. You don't want him playing at the end of an innings where agricultural shots will end his innings.
He's InshAllah definitely a future Pakistan player, but he needs games to further develop his technique. I'd love to see him get a contract in the Vitality T20 blast, so that he can get reps under his belt.
