Well done and congratulations to our learned friend [MENTION=2344]W63L35[/MENTION]

Anyone thinking that we will perform like a top team in upcoming World Cup must be kidding himself or dreaming. I will be pleasantly surprised if we win more than 4 matches in the World Cup with the 15 announced.

Here is Pakistani ODI batting S/R (ability to score runs in 50 overs) and bowling S/R (ability to take wickets) in comparison with other teams since 1/1/2018.

Also notice batting average, bowling average..... which at the bottom of the table also.

Great analysis.

But Pakistan is a tournament team and it all depends which Pakistani team turns out that day.

They'd get crushed in a meaningless bilateral series, but could do wonders preparing for a big tournament. Some of these players get the best out of them on such moments.

Good insight, but I will say the data might be a little scewed as its of last 16 months. IT might represent a little better if its last 4 years. Secondly teams who are playing in high scoring destinations will have higher averages and strike rate. At the stats is for top 6 batsman, it doesnt include stats that maybe our 7,8,9 have a higher avg compared to other teams.

That being said we should still try to compete on these parameters.

To be honest, I don't think the stats will reflect our WC performance as badly as some people might think. Who knows though, Pakistan can implode at any time.

Analysis is all well and good, but when a team is as "flukey" as Pakistan, anything can happen. We probably had similar if not worse stats prior to the CT17

You can look at the cricinfo report after the ct. We had the worst bowling and batting averages before and by the end of the ct we had the best bowling average. You can't just rely on stats.
