PP labels - FTB or Trundlers

After spending years on this forum, I see that there is no such thing as an ATG player anymore.

So some very good Batsmen either become HTB or FTB or ugly hacks or Tuk tuk player or Mental Midget or if nothing else they become Selfish player. (disclaimer - not talking about Rohit or Misbah or Akmal or Tendu or anyone specifically)

Conversely lot of under-achievers end up being "Raw talent" or "Bits and Pieces players" or "one trick pnly" or "one series wonder" or "having Dileri or Jazba but victims of system" and what not.

The ones who escape this and make it to the core team are "blue-eyed boys of the captain" or "polished product of the system" or in many cases the Chairman or Prime Minister's choice.

On bowling front we have some great achievers being labelled as Trundlers or medium-phaast (cynically) or sprayers or dibbly-dobbly or darters.

Bowler who has taken 300 wickets after hard grind in Test Cricket - He was persisted so long he is bound to get 300 wickets.

Batsman who fails after initial promise - He was let down by system

Batsman who was always better then above initial promise Batsmen,
but also worked his backside off - The system supported him and made him, else he was less talented.

Leg side hoicks and few sixes on the Leg - The next finisher
Consistently able to hit and win test matches abroad - He is a hack, too high risk and will fail miserably one day..

Batsman with 20 International Centuries - Benchmark of the Generation
Batsman with 70 International Centuries - Gone case and downfall started.

There are so much cricket being played these days, hence when these players fail, it comes in the limelight more often.

yes..this is the only moniker (ASTERISK stained matches) which is on decline now thanks to ICC becoming vigilant. the remaining titles are floating freely. Not an issue with me

This generation is quite unlucky considering the benchmark himself has only one test century in SENA despite "Higher than Mountain, deeper than ocean" potential and "Prettier than Amanda Seyfried" cover drives
