Kashif Ali played really well in the KPL.

Also No haider Ali, Abdullah shafiq , dahani, usman Qadir in this camp

Lots and lots of bits and pieces there in this lineup.

I didn’t expect this from Mohammad Wasim

No proper young batsman given chance here. Pakistan white ball team struggles with middle order batting and batsmen. Wat is he trying to fix with this bunch

Recalling the failures again.

1 positive is the inclusion on Mohammed Harris. Who is a decent option. Hopefully safer as isn’t picked.

Please note some players are on their way to the Caribbean for CPL so understandably not in this camp

I don't know if anyone else noticed by Khushdil looked to have worked on his off side game. In the KPL he looked decent hitting through the off side and obviously it needs to be tested against the better bowlers but if he can develop that side of his game, he will offer something tangible at 6.

Yes and I think he always had some sort of offside game which he now maybe has further improved. Issue with him was just like some other batsmen and that was due to possibly nerves or pressure at top level restricting themselves to one or two shots which are maybe more natural/instinctive to them and that never works in international cricket. You can’t just keep on trying to play every ball to the cow corner or legside irrespective of whether a bowler bowls.

If some of these guys can just be bit more calm and can get hold of their nerves I think they can do much better than they have done so far.

Adil Amin has been hard done guy averages 75+ for Pakistan A with 110 odd strike rate and has been performing each year in domestic one day but selectors understand white ball as just t20.

Akif javid should have been there also

Start expecting this from Mohammad Wasim.

He has already started failing at his role.

Too many youngsters being ignored for players he prefers.

A poor chief selector, who covers up his mistakes with fancy powerpoints.

Overall decent names (Ones in CPL and with Pak test team couldn’t have been in this) but, couple of surprise misses which are Haris Sohail and Amad Butt. Yes Amad hasn’t been consistent with the bat but, is bowling pretty well since the last QAE season. Another one I can think of is Adil Amin who has good list A stats, experience and was really crucial for KPK in Pakistan Cup so maybe deserved to be there at least in additional names.

Few Surprise picks as well. Mohammad Haris is a pleasant surprise especially as the main WK in the camp as he is surely capable of being dynamic but, he needs to be given more opportunities by his region (Hopefully he gets a new region as KPK was packed last year).

In additional ones Imran Randhawa is again a pleasant surprise, guy has good temperament and can be a pretty handy cricketer if he is developed well.

Zeeshan Ashraf and Mohammad Akhlaq are clearly two of the better ball strikers in Pakistan cricket in the top order who play on both sides of the wicket and the surprise is that they are under the radar as I was expecting them to be overlooked/missed.

Raza Ali Dar is the biggest surprise, he has been around for a number of years now and always did a handy job for his team in white ball cricket with the bat or the ball in most tournaments and same was the case with last Pakistan Cup where he was really consistent with the bat. Yes he is 33 but, one can argue maybe deserved to be in the additional list based upon his performance for CP and a crucial role in taking them to the Pakistan Cup finals.

talat, khusdil and danish.

Those guys are below mediocre and don't deserve to be anywhere near the national setup.

I have watched him before and he looked like a cow corner slogger but he has shown that at least there is more to his game. If and its a big if, he can start to hit decent bowlers through the off side, he could become a serious player

Sharjeel
Imam
Fakhar
Sohaib
Talat
Zeeshan Ashraf wk
Shadab c
Imad
Wasim Jr
Haris
Hasnain

One eye on the future.

No ifti required plenty of lower order hitters in there.

Zeeshan is the best choice out of the 4 keepers he had a decent last few tournaments and can slot anywhere. He will get you a a quick fire score either way.

Fast bowling picks itself Arshad seems a bit behind the other fast bowlers and I see Wasim Jr becoming a valuable lower order hitter too. He is the closest to keep his position in the first team where as Haris needs a decent few games and learn the art of keeping runs down. Hasnain compliments well with his beautiful action and height. He need also a little bit of confidence booster and he can be valuable asset.

Shadab and Imad need to use this series to get their bowling going in tandem.

With Hussain Talat in I see many bowling options for Shadab and a team like ISLU and northern with a lot of match winners.

After all Mohammed Wasim was the head of that team too.

Zeeshan is by far the worst keeper out of the 3. The guy can’t keep and he looks 5 years older then his age. Best to develop Mohammed Harris and Rohail Nazir.

Huh, where's Saud? He should be a no brainer to get selected and given a go at a 3-4 spot. Would like to see Salman Agha given a go too.

Is Haris Sohail injured or something? Makes no sense he has been completely discarded from ODI's for his poor Test results.

Playing 11 most probably will be this
1. Imam ul haq
2. Fakhar Zaman
3. Saud Shakeel
4. Sarfraz Ahmed (wk)
5. Agha Salman
6. Sohaib Maqsood (shouldn't be in ODI only t20)
7. Muhammad Wasim jr.
8. Shadab Khan (C) (will probably bat higher which he should do
9. Muhammad Nawaz
10. Haris Rauf
11. Muhammad Hasnain
12. Sharjeel Khan
13. Abdullah Shafiq (should be opening in place of Imam)
14. Khushdil Shah
15. Zahid Mehmood
16. One extra wicketkeeper will be selected (will be between Rohail Nazir, Muhammad Haris and Zeeshan Ashraf)
17. Shahnawaz Dahani
18. One extra pacer maybe selected ( will be between Muhammad Imran, Arshad Iqbal, Muhammad Ilyas and Ahmed Bashir)

Saud is busy carrying drinks for Imran Butt, Abid Ali and Azhar Ali

Don’t mind Haris given a go. Nasir doesn’t inspire any confidence and Zeeshan I’d take currently over Ikhlaq.

Looks like Haris Sohail’s career is finished. He will not play Tests again because of his fitness, he is not in consideration for ODIs anymore and he has been completely invisible in PSL since season 1.

Such a talented player but he has no one to blame but himself. He has had plenty of opportunities and time to deliver on his promise.

Sadly, it is all over for him now.

Rubbish,
As per records there is no better opener for ODI than Shaan Masood....
I think Shaan has some personal rivalry with chief selector...
This is what is killing PAK cricket...
I urge all Pak cricket supporters to raise their voice for Shaan...

Lockdown in Sri Lanka. Please play series in Pakistan and i have heard PCB offered that but ACB turned it down, just tell them 50% of revenue would be shared if thats alright with them.

Their team is first coming to Pak anyways because as per the rumoured travel itinerary they will come to Pak and then will fly Dubai and to Srl. However, its their home series so its upto them to make the final call but rather than having no cricket for them incase Srl is not an option it would be better to be flexible as its more important series for Afg to send a message that things regarding cricket are normal after recent developments.

However, rumours floating around are not looking great for the series currently.

Haris Rauf is unable to hit the wickets even when there is no batsman standing! Explains a lot.

A lot of players mentioned, some are good inclusion like Mohammad Haris but some are not like Sohaib Maqsood aged 34 and Imad Wasim aged 32 going to 33 end of this year.

His last 7 innings score: 71, 56, 40, 6, 27, 68, 89. A bunch of them are from the World Cup too when the teams fortune finally turned around after they dropped Malik & Asif and started playing Haris.

Poor Test performances shouldn't result in being dropped from ODI's when he is the most reliable middle order option after Babar. In fact, ever since they dropped him, it's been a whole lot of garbage from the middle order ever since they have done that. Just another classic case of dumb management being dumb and not understanding the concept of differentiating performances in formats.

He was dropped because of fitness reasons. The World Cup was 2 years ago and his fitness has only deteriorated.

I would pick an unfit Haris over any other middle-order batsman though. He is far better than the competition but I do think PCB have moved on from him.

He was injured and sent back home during the England ODI series

How is he now? Has he recovered back from the injury ?
