With the 3-match ODI series between Australia and Pakistan set to begin on November 4th, fans are eagerly predicting the outcome.

Australia, coming off a strong performance in England, will be looking to assert its dominance at home, while Pakistan, under the new leadership of Mohammad Rizwan and riding high from its recent Test series win against England at home, aims to make a mark.

Predict the outcome of this series. Can Pakistan do any miracle in this series and whitewash them?

I would say 2-1 Australia. Hoping too much, yes but, I am fan. gotta stay optimistic.

3-0 Aus but if Pakistan is vaguely competitive it would be a result, given the nature of recent white ball performances.

3-0 Aus obviously but who cares. White ball series really are meaningless now - just practice for the next ICC tournament. CT is in Pakistan so losing in Aus doesn't mean much.
As soon as the ball spins SENA teams struggle. Better have spinning pitches in the CT. Get Nomi and Sajid in ODI squad.

Is that why 3 out of 4 teams in the last World Cup semis in India were from SENA?

Rizwan-led Pakistan all set for Australia challenge

Mohammad Rizwan’s first outing as white-ball captain will begin on Monday when Pakistan take on hosts Australia in the three-match ODI series. The first game will be played at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground, while the second ODI will begin on 8 November at the Adelaide Oval in Adelaide. The both teams will then travel to Perth where the third ODI will take place on 10 November at the Perth Stadium.

The ODI series will be followed by three-match T20I series, which will be played on 14, 16 and 18 November.

Both sides last met in the 50-over format during the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 on October 20 where Australia defeated Pakistan by 62 runs at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru. The last time both sides featured in a bilateral ODI series was in March/April 2022, when Australia visited Pakistan and the hosts won the series 2-1.

Pakistan have also announced their playing XI for the first ODI, with Muhammad Irfan Khan and Saim Ayub making their debut. 21-year-old Irfan has already featured in three T20Is for Pakistan, while he has played 24 List-A matches, scoring one century and three half-centuries. Left-handed opening batter Saim has been a part of six Tests and 23 T20Is for Pakistan and has featured in 35 List-A matches accumulating 1,472 runs with the help of four centuries and seven half-centuries.

Aamir Jamal, Arafat Minhas, Faisal Akram and Haseebullah are the other uncapped players in the ODI squad.

Mohammad Rizwan reflecting on team preparations ahead of the ODI series:

“It is an honour to lead the Pakistan team and we are ready to take on Australia in their own backyard.

“We all know Australia are a very good side, and world champions, but we look forward to competing hard as we have a number of young and exciting players in our squad and it is their chance to grab the opportunities coming their way.

“We have had productive training sessions here in Melbourne since our arrival and with the support of Almighty, we look forward to produce positive results in the series.

“We are scheduled to play a good number of ODIs before the next year’s ICC Champions Trophy back in Pakistan. The forthcoming series beginning with Australia, then Zimbabwe, South Africa and the home Tri-nation tournament will help us assemble a right combination going into the mega event at home.

“We are expecting fans to come in good number to support us in this series, as they have been a huge support for the team wherever we have played in Australia.”

Pat Cummins, Australia’s ODI captain:

“It’s always great to have such high intensity game which makes the start of summer and it’s a great opportunity for youngsters to get going.

“Pakistan are quite a decent side and they have players who have scored big runs. We have played against them in recent years, so I think it’s always a fairly even match.

“There is going to be good crowd tomorrow at the MCG as we are playing against Pakistan.”

Playing XI for first ODI (in batting order): Abdullah Shafique, Saim Ayub, Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan (captain/wicket-keeper), Kamran Ghulam, Salman Ali Agha (vice-captain), Muhammad Irfan Khan, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Naseem Shah, Haris Rauf and Mohammad Hasnain

Schedule of matches:

4 Nov – 1st ODI vs Australia; Melbourne Cricket Ground, Melbourne (2.30pm local time start)
8 Nov – 2nd ODI vs Australia; Adelaide Oval, Adelaide (2pm local time start)
10Nov – 3rd ODI vs Australia; Perth Stadium, Perth (11.30am local time start)

After being swept clean by New Zealand at home, Indian fans might suddenly find themselves tuning into the Pakistan vs. Australia ODI series with surprising enthusiasm, possibly even more than Pakistani fans. :inzi

Let’s face it, a Pakistan loss in this series might just be the perfect “Zandu Balm” to soothe a few bruised Indian hearts. Who knew our post-defeat therapy would involve rooting for the Aussies? :rp :inti

We'll see.
Here's the thing, Ik for a fact that whenever you make such a prediction theirs always rhyme and reason to it as you're a terrific poster.

So you're definitely seeing something that I'm not seeing. I know this much that none of your claims have ever been baseless.

Lol. I didn't see 3-0 at the hands of NZ coming :dw I thought we were gonna crush them.

But Australia's batting and bowling look very iffy and they look very beatable imo.

A top order with Warner, Head and Marsh is a foregone conclusion for Australia.

Now it's very even and PAK can win with some tosses going their way etc.

Pakistan put up a much better fight in the first ODI against Australia than India did in the entire three-match Test series against New Zealand. That’s how brainless India’s performance was in the home series against a Kane-less New Zealand team. :inti

You first voted 3-0 win for pakistan. Now after 1st odi 2-1 , maybe after 2nd odi your prediction will change from 2-1 to 1-2

End results will be 3-0 win to Australia.
I am still sticking to 2-1 prediction based on relative strengths of the team.

I would say that it will still be 2-1 Australia. Pakistans should have won the 1st game but yeah, thanks to brainless bowling in the end.

only chance for Pakistan is in Adelaide as pitch will support them a bit otherwise there is no chance for Pak to win any game against Asutralia on this tour.

OK bro your mystic Meg and you have that special power to know the future 💪

Don't make me bump after next game will be embarrassing for you
lol it’s not mystic. It was really an accurate assessment of this Aussie team blooded with sloggers. I actually have a hard time now with the 3rd game as I don’t know who the players are in the 3rd ODI for Aus.
If they field proper batters from Sheffield Shield, then its curtains for Pakistan.

This game pakistan did well punch above their weight. Next game aussies are not going to let it go

With this exact same batting line up, I don’t see them winning. But like I said, if they bring in new fresh talent from SS that are not sloggers like Short, JFM, and others, then it’s a different story

If last game was anywhere other then Perth I would back Pakistan to take the series but we never bat well at Perth I can see someone like Spencer Johnson running through us

This is Pakistan's best chance to win an ODI series in Australia in 20+ years with Cummins, Starc, Smith, Hazelwood and Labusagne; all going out of the side.

Yep of all the places to have the decider. I hope that near miss in Melbourne won't come back to haunt us.

Oh My, Pakistan won 1 game now. I said 2-1 Australia but things are taking a turn... Cannot be hyping this team. They can go from hero to zero as well.. Hoping for the best

So, will it be Australia 2-1 or Pakistan 2-1?

Given the recent performances, the odds seem to be favoring Pakistan.

We need to bump @RidiculousMan thread.

It seems anytime pakistani fans have zero expectations the teams wins somehow.

Happened against Nz in 2023 wc, happened against England and happened against australia.

However anytime pakistani fans are sure of a victory like they were against USA, bamgladesh(test), Asia cup 2023 etc etc, they got smacked into next week.

So just go with no expectations next time or predict pak will lose. God works in mysterious ways lol.

Either that or quadrat ki Nizam is a troll fest.

I would have been very hopeful of Pak ..getting series win now..if the game was anywhere other than Perth.. Pakistan batsmen cant bat at all in Perth.. they lost t 20 to zimbabwe in Perth as well.. Even though it will be a weakened Aus side.. I still expect then to beat Pak in Perth.. A slightest hope for Pakistan might be..if they win the toss.. but even then ..very difficult to win in Perth..

Also theres only a day gap in the match.. Not sure even if team has practiced or they will take a day off.. and rest.. In perth of all places, there should have been few days for Pakistan to practice, but now it seems bad for Pakistan

Yes even a random hit the deck tall pacer can run through Pakistan at Perth I have never seen a more inept batting line up then Pakistan at Perth

Congratulations for a win against Australia C. :kp

Congratulations for a win against Australia C. :kp
Lolll didn’t their best side lost the last game as well? Anyway, you were laughing at this prediction based on all the facts available, so you should have the courage to admit you were wrong.

You're top poster brother. Some of the comments on this thread are hilarious.

Hopefully they'll learn from posters like you

Pakistan defeated Australia's A-team in 2nd ODI and then B-team in 3rd ODI.. What a win it is..
