Take a bow. While I did not vote on this thread I would have personally gone for a 1-1 Draw. Epic call.

What makes you say so in this case?

I mean everyone would have expected Pak to win against this Sl side in UAE.

Or are you saying it because of some optimistic fans expecting Pak to square the series after the 1st innings of second test finished?
I didn't I expected a draw & voted as such, only a handful were wise enough to see the holes Msibah & Younis left.

Imagine the holes left in Indian team after the big five retired, it will take easily two years before Pak can get back to it;s best, but then can you rely on Azhar or Shafiq when they're also near the end of their careers like the two veterans before them?

I actually didn't expect them to win 2-0. Not after the thrashing we gave them a while back but just took a chance anyway since I thought their batting looks really post MisYou. But yah that was just a gag. I didn't even expect it to be right :O

My decision wasn't based on Misbah's departure as a batsman but the departure of him as a captain and of course Younis' batting calmness. However I believe captaincy by Sarfraz left a lot to be desired. Misbah has mastered the UAE conditions and knew exactly who to play and what fields to set.

Mickey said last night that he thought 3 pacers was the right way to go since he comes from SA and that is the mentality there. This shows how less influence Sarfraz has on the team because he could've gone with 2 spinner but he didn't. Mickey probably overrode him which he couldn't do when Misbah was captain. Plus no Hafeez in the UAE is a big no no matter what anyone says. Hafeez in the UAE is a beast. He was always going to be missed especially given the fact he could've bowled.

Perfectly put. Misbah 's strategy was perfect for UAE conditions. You had batsmen who could grind the opposition bowling to dust - YK, Azhar,Misbah,Shafiq and seamers who could bowl dry like IK jr. and spinners with hafeez being fifth bowler. Very dominant team in these conditions. This 3 pacer strategy is only successful if you have a strong pace unit capable of taking pitch out of the equation and even then might fail. Mickey seems to want to make this team about stroke makers and pace- heavy which is fine but it might bean that opposition will start fancying series wins in the UAE from now on.

We just thought it was our best possible attack, whether that was right or wrong, it's something I need to get my head around. I've come from and coached in places where pace dominates and wins games. I've got to get my thinking round these totally different conditions.

I was shocked to read this quote from Mickey Arthur this morning. I can't get around the fact that an international level coach could utter such garbage. Can you imagine Mickey being the coach of India and playing 3 pacers on a spinner's paradise at Feroz Shah Kotla or Eden Gardens citing the reason that he comes from SA where pace wins you games?

If Sri Lanka win at least 1 test I'm quitting forums and packing my bags

Thats how unrealistic their chances are.

Usman, Harris, Babar's chances to boost that average, and get settled in their roles, will never find a more confidence boosting series.

Start packing.

Well we do play 5 bowlers these days so we can accommodate the extra quick but yeah in a 4 man attack, it was an absolute rubbish decision to play 3 pacers and Yasir especially on that Abu Dhabi wicket. But yeah for an international level coach Mickey should know that SA and the UAE are poles apart. Very dumb decision.

Well, I voted for Pakistan to win comfortably. It went other way.

Many of you may not agree, but the biggest factor was Pakistan playing only one spinner. Making the same mistake twice and expecting a different result was insanity. Management team took a horrible decision here.

To be fair, I voted for 2-0 after it was already 1-0. I knew the odds were fairly good on the 2nd test having a result. And SL's batting was in better form and confidence, compared to Pak. While the bowling were comparable in the given conditions. Not really that amazing a prediction, to be honest.

Frankly speaking, nobody quite expected this SL side to win 2-0 against Pak in UAE, MisYou or not.....

Pakistan's current team is mediocre tbh. Except for Haris Sohail and Yasir, I dont think anyone would even make Indian XI.

9 losses out of the last 11 tests played with 7 losses coming with the great MisYou in the team.
