So, to wrap it all up the 2026 T20 World Cup is shaping up to be an absolute thriller. With the tournament happening in India and Sri Lanka, we’re looking at a playground that perfectly suits the "subcontinental" style of play—slow pitches, plenty of spin, and tactical masterclasses.

While India remains the team to beat on home turf and Australia and England are always lurking like tournament bosses, Pakistan is the real team to watch with good recent record in shorter format. They aren’t just "mercurial" anymore; they have the perfect bowling blueprint for these tracks and a refreshed leadership that seems ready to ditch the drama for some trophies. If they can keep their nerves steady during those high-pressure death overs, don't be surprised to see the Green Shirts lifting the cup in front of a packed house. It's going to be a wild ride!

So who do you see making the semi-finals of the ICC T20 World Cup 2026? Any bold shouts, dark horses, or teams you think are being overrated already?

India
Australia
South Africa
England

Finals
India Vs Australia

Winner - Australia

Interesting matchups
India Vs Pak - India barely
Pak Vs USA - Pak
NZ Vs Afg - AFG Barely
Eng Vs WI - Eng
NZ vs SA - SA
Aus Vs SL - SL

NZ??? I think they are fine but semis seems too much... But yeah, them or Pakistan as dark horses
For me NZ but I just check super -8 possible matches and india - Australia will be in a same group so Australia might miss out if they lost two matches .
:kp

On another note, I really want to see how Babar performs in this tournament.

Overall I believe South Africa can take this tournament. They are dark horses. India is also of course in the mix.

Other two semi finals are hard to pick.

Anyone is in the mix for other semi final slots. Depending on Mohsin Naqvi decision on 2nd Feb we can't even rule out Uganda at this stage.

Sa20 has put Life in their team, money attracts top talent. Good to see the saffers bouncing back in all formats

Since readmission, South Africa have never been a bad team. Their fast bowling production factory is second to none & they also produce good batters and all-rounders. The only thing they had a bit of problem with was quota management which led to constant exports of their top tier talents to kolpak and later other deals.

That said, these are my top 4 (Read somewhere that super 8 are fixed and Aus, RSA, & India are in the same super 8 pool).

Ind
Aus
Eng
Nz/Pak

I would not be surprised if Afghanistan sneak into the top 4 but let's see.

INDIA , AUSTRALIA , ENGLAND & NZL [ not very certain after the session fix yesterday in warm-up game but still will go with them].
Hazelwood being ruled-out is a BIG BIG blow imo .

Australia getting knocked out was the only surprise. Also that double tie breaker match should have been won by Afghanistan but they choked real bad when it mattered. Zimbabwe played good cricket against Australia but that really ruined the tournament.

Was expecting a NRR battle between NZ/Pak but like the last three times was thinking that NZ would win this NRR battle as they are a more consistent team.

Don't see anyone taking the trophy other than the neighbors. NZ and RSA will spend all their energy fighting in the semi while England have a terrible track record in India in white ball cricket.

Hopefully NZ or SA will win it

While there's no denying that I feel envy when it comes to the neighboring cricket team, it also is fair that they actually win the tournament. They have improved tremendously & anyone who puts in the effort deserves to get rewarded for that.

Before the WC started , a vast majority would have predicted Ind Aus SA Eng/NZ. Nobody would have predicted Aus to be out.

But Pak supporters would have predicted Pak Aus SA NZ.. :sneaky:

You almost got it (WI did not want it for SOME reason; the way they played in PP)
Yeah WI didnt utilize the power play initially which costed them this game.. this pitch we so flat that they must have scored atleast 220 here but hats off to India they played better cricket on the day and won the game.

England need to bowl slow balls, bouncers. Curran has been too full, he isnt producing the bounce and pace

yessssss!!!! ADIL RASHID BRIT PAKISTANI gets the Indian wicket!

If Allen performs well, I think New Zealand will win the match. In my opinion, New Zealand hasn’t won a World Cup yet, so it would be great to see them finally win one. They have been a strong and consistent team for many years, and they truly deserve to lift the trophy. 🏏
