Just wanted to start my first PP thread of 2025 as well as wishing PP'ers a happy new year (yes ik I'm 3 days late).
This thread is about predicting the final International game that certain players will play for pakistan either via being dropped for good or via retiring.
I'll give my 5.
1) Shan Masood: I'm almost 200% certain that today will be Shan's final game playing in International cricket. Constant poor form followed by poor results for pakistan where Shan mustered only 2 wins against England and that was mostly due to Aqib's intervention.
2) Abdullah Shafique: After a very poor outing in 2024, Followed by 3 ducks in a row against sa and now being dropped from the current playing 11 in tests, I'm certain Abdullah's career is either over or at the very least finished for the time being. Fakhar will probably replace him for CT 2025 and I can't see him making a return to the test squad. Very likely Imam may return in his stead.
3) Usman Khan: Not sure about Usman Khan, but my prediction is that he'll get maybe one or 2 more t20 series to make a mark before being discarded for good.
4) Noman Ali: Either 2025 or early 2026 will be his end, not because hes a bad player, infact he's a terrific player, however he's just too old now. He's 38 turning 39 this year and frankly he's probs age fudged around 2 to 5 years.
5) Husnain: He's been extremely poor since his return to International Cricket. Don't see him making Ct squad but if he does, He'll be dropped for good post Ct 2025. Unless he somehow turns it around that is. But I doubt he will.
